Shattered Dimensions got me back into Spider-Man games when it first came out. Activision was really milking the Spider-Man license to the point where we were almost getting yearly releases for the webhead. Loved everything Shattered Dimensions was doing. Multiverse storyline before it was common place like today, all the voice actors were returning from previous Spider-Man series and even the linear design before every game had to be an open world game.

Yeah, this massively popularised the concept, No Way Home definitely has this to thank for some of its elements. Pretty sure the only thing that did Spider-verse before Shattered Dimensions was that one episode of Spider-Man The Animated Series (1994 - 1998) where The Beyonder brings a bunch of the Spideys together to save all of their universes. That was also pretty damned awesome
I got shattered dimensions for Christmas the year it came out. I played it over and over so much to a point where I literally wore out the disk. I absolutely adore this game and I love that it’s been getting a bit more attention with the mainstream approach to the Spider-Verse concept
I agree, I would love an open world 2099 game. Insomniac doing it would make perfect sense as they currently make great Spider-Man games, but they also make Ratchet & Clank, which has great futuristic and sci-fi settings. They could absolutely cook if given the chance.
Aside of the ps4/ps5 games this was and still is my favorite spiderman game i still have my copy of it and finished a recent play through of it still amazing
It's that good. I remember getting this when it came out (i begged my dad lol) and it was so much fun. This was my first Spider-Man game that wasn't open world since Spider-Man 2002 i believe, and at first i thought that would ruin the game for me but i was completely wrong. The levels, the different Spider-Mans with their own unique combat style, the environments made this such a memorable experience for me. Try and play this game if you haven't i highly reccomend it. Shattered Dimensions doesn't crack my top 3 Spider-Man games but its definitely in my top 5. Great fun
I actually played the DS version of Shattered Dimensions recently after finishing Web of Shadows (DS), and it was a pretty solid Metroidvania game. I definitely mega recommend both DS games to not just Spider-Man fans, but also Metroidvania fans.

I love how different each of the spider men are and none of them were boring to play with despite having played this game so many times, you have the classic spiderman with the highly recognised blue and red suit,the 2099 spiderman that literally made the transformers look basic in comparison,the exceedingly fun black suited spiderman and then you have spiderman Noir,the most intimidating spiderman,the spiderman Noir and ultimate spiderman stages were my favourite because of their settings and villains, the villains and settings for Spiderman Noir feel extremely dark,not just in a visual sense but also story wise,seriously though the villains in these spiderman Noir stages are the most terrifying and intimidating villains I've ever seen in any spiderman game,the setting feels really old,decrepit and very very rough around the edges,perfect for this particular spiderman as there's an aggressive edge to this one that the others simply don't have, the ultimate spiderman is also my favourite because of the black suit and its settings,with my favourite stages of the ultimate spiderman being the one with deadpool and carnage,the one with carnage was the one that definitely creeped me out the most among all the other black suit stages mostly because it feels like something out of a zombie movie,so pretty scary and the level with deadpool was fun because of deadpool and how grand in scale it felt as well,the settings for the ultimate spiderman were interesting to say the least, at the same time it felt like a lot of fun but it also felt kinda intimidating when in regards to the black suit getting enraged,it didn't just feel powerful but it felt great, coz you could feel the power coursing through the suit itself and it made you feel unstoppable especially when the state can be maintained through constant combat

To put simply, if it wasn’t for this game, I believe the concept of a multi-versel spider-Man story would’ve been coming much later. Especially with the 90s episode covering multiple different Spider-Man. So we have shattered dimensions to thank for!
I love this game due to it featuring Josh Keaton as Ultimate Spiderman. Seriously if you have not seen Spectacular Spiderman I recommend you check the show out his Peter Parker/Spiderman is so good
Afew years ago. I bought these games to replay on Xbox 360. I bought Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time and many other spiderman games. I put them in my collection and haven't touch them yet. I see these games are expensive now

I would love to see an open-world Spider-Man game that’s similar to this one in that you get to play as multiple versions of Spider-Man, but maybe more like Genshin in that you can swap between Spiders in combat to work different combinations and synergies. Plus, multiplayer with different players playing different Spiders would be *amazing.*

Ever since I played ratchet and clank rift apart And I saw the rift mechanic And how game changing it was seeing yourself going from a place to a whole new place with a press of a button and not a hint of a loading there One thing that kept coming up was what if insomniac made a shattered dimensions game Or spider-verse game where you can switch between spider-men with a press of a button No loadings No mission structures Pure chaos across the dimensions And last SGF the director pointed out that spider man 2 is called that bc it has 2 of them So if the rule of “one spiderman per reality” is done here They can make a spider-verse game with the third game with various different spiders there and the rift mechanic I kinda wanted them to use it now But if they gonna do later with the same execution Well, that could very well be the game of generation for me Hype man Hype

Media companies love rights to characters and they can still sell movies and tv shows, why do video games alone have to be delisted? The Activision Marvel games (along with transformers and Legend of Korra) are all WAY too good to just be lost to time and forgotten. Edit: Heck, Marvel is really shooting themselves in the foot not being able to promote this game or have the studio that made it promote a remaster and sequel when the Spider-Verse movies are blowing up.

If you're going to talk about games with Spider-Man in it, you should at some point talk about Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 and 2. The first has Spider-Man in it along with a number of references to the character's history. The second has regular, noir and 2099 versions due to Kang the Conqueror pulling time warping shenanigans.

I could see 2099 being the Miles Morales type spinoff the first game had for the 2nd game. Probably won't happen but it would be fucking awesome.

The first has Spider-Man in it along with a number of references to the character's history. The second has regular, noir and 2099 versions due to Kang the Conqueror pulling time warping shenanigans.

I played this on the Wii and when you had to do the first person shit I would pretend to punch the mf whilenpressing the buttons I was like maybe 7-8

Yes, it is good. I replayed it couple of times, and i support people who think that game needs remaster.
