    I work with drywall once about 3-4 years, and it totally shows. I struggle to get any kind of clean finish and spend DAYS sanding. These guys who have so much muscle memory, and the right tools, are a joy to watch.

    Here in the UK we would do a full skim even over drywall it leaves a lovely finish, it's probably not necessary but we do it anyway :D

    As a 62 year old female who walked on stilts as a teenager to spot nails for my dad as a youngster, I can relate. Drywall is an art indeed and these guys are pros! My father was a pro too all of his life and to this day I still do all of my own work. You have a feel for it or you don’t. Thank you for this video!

    Hi, my name is Antonio and I'm from Portugal, I've been seeing a lot of videos and concluded that your experience are relevant to my doubts. I restor my kitchen with drywall and I need to mount a strip of tiles between the counter and the upper cabinets. I saw so much information that I ended up being more confused than I was before. I need your opinion for the following questions. To put the tile on the drywall! - is it advisable to use any waterproofing material? - Is a primary also needed? - Or can I put the tiles directly on the drywall, or is there a specific adhesive cement for this application? Thank you, I look forward to your feedback

      Howdy Antonio Santos! Thanks for the question...if your drywall is in very good condition and you use a good primer, you can apply stone or tile directly to it. Waterproofing kitchen walls is usually not required for residential kitchens. Use a dry mix mortar that is appropriate for your size and type of stone - DO NOT use pre-mixed thinset! Thanks for watching and good luck on your project!!! ☘️

    How do you tape the corners where drywall meets

    • @DoAndBrewDIY
      @DoAndBrewDIY  2 года назад

      Howdy Bruno! Inside or outside corner? For the inside corners, the tape is made to fold in half. For the outside corners, you use ‘corner bead’…can be mad of metal or plastic…can be round or square. The rounds (or ‘radius’) tend to be used out west more than the east coast, but I have used rounds on the east coast for certain applications…there is no right or wrong to square or round. Thanks for the question and good luck with your project!!! ☘️

      Howdy victor58010! Now...when you say ‘dismal’ do you mean that in a southern blues kinda way? Thanks for the props on the work!!! ☘️
