Finally, a contractor who installs the wall cabinets first. I do remove the doors first, though. I found it makes installing the molding easier. Additionally , I don't risk banging the doors up when they swing open accidentally.
One thing I would advise is try to remove some of the tiles cleanly and save them for future possible damages to tiles in bathroom. You won't be able to match those lots or even find that tile
Me and my friend did a tile job with removal like that. It was 600sqft of it. We used a shingle remover shovel for the cement board on the floor. They had nails every 3” on every sheet instead of screws. Demo took two days between the two of us.
I use a roofing shingle remover to pry up cement board. It has notches on the blade that will let you get under screws or nails and allows you to pry them up with out removing first.. You’re welcome.

I'm someone who works hard but does not make much money. The old countertop are not level I and pray the installers of the new countertop will see those unleveled areas and if that can be rectified correctly before new counter top. Amazing work and video production. The weird cut outs with the backsplash feels like a travesty though. Kinda defeats the purpose of the stone backsplash if you aren't going to take it all the way up. I'm guessing this was to avoid dealing with the wall outlets.

Do the countertop shop also do the installation, or you do it yourself? How much is the installation? Why can't they drill the faucet holes in the shop? How long did it take for the whole thing?
Nothing against the excellent work here, but when I compare before vs after (0:14 and 44:42), it looks basically like the same kitchen updated with better lighting (the before image is yellowed for some reason), cabinet hardware, quartz countertops, new microwave, and flooring. The labor cost would be huge with all the work described. Does a 2cm thick stone backsplash improve the look when a porcelain large format tile would look just as good? Maybe a new Ikea pantry to the left of the fridge would be nice, but this kitchen has a lot of cabinets. Hats off to the skilled professionals who do this, but I wonder why so many owners feel the need to gut everything.

Not that I know of but yes you definitely need to always wear a proper mask/respirator when working with these types of countertops and cutting them/grinding. So are all quartz countertops being band in Australia?

@@BYOTools the cabinets are made by Base Wood Metro Factory International located in Binan Laguna Philippines. The plywood has a substantial amount of formaldehyde in it and the cheap finish won't hold up for very long. It is a "you get what you pay for" product.
Nice build and video. Caeserstone is banned here in Australia as of 1st of July though due to serious health concerns for workers. I was loving all the water fed machines but the video still ended with some dude hand abrading/polishing with no face mask. That said, I believe the dust getting through PPE is part of the reason for the ban.
Looks great - however NEC requires an electrical outlet on all kitchen islands, so this is not to code. It's a bugbear for me because my place doesn't have one.. haha
I think they said they bought the “new” cabinet at a discount store, but they are NOT the same as the custom cabinets that the client originally wanted bc budget.
All high end kitchens use wood. Engineered wood can even be put in a bathroom. It's incredibly resilient to water. I prefer tile myself, but wood is the go to for a luxury kitchen.
What does heighth mean? Heighth is a misspelling of height. It might exist because of a perceived similarity to other words that end in -ghth, like eighth. Other measurements, like depth and breadth, also end in -th, so some writers might overgeneralize this ending to heighth, as well. It could also stem from a mispronunciation of the word by some speakers. HEIGHTH ISN'T A WORD.
Way to save the client so much money. How much do you think the average homeowner could save? But, hiring contractors certainly jumps the labor portion of the costs significantly.
I can't see what was wrong with the original kitchen, sorry, it had nice Shaker cabinets, SS appliances, etc. Maybe the grout was dirty on the tile floor? But it was a decent kitchen.
Good questions Jonathan and luckily for me I consider myself more of a content creator than a contractor these days. I get paid multiple different ways so I'm not worried about making a ton on the project itself. I just give the client my hourly rate and as long as they agree to that I'm happy to save the client money in the end.

I understand that wood floor is laid under a range and refrigerator, so no need to rais that up.
40k for cabinets 😮. Buy your own table saw and start cutting. Even if you mess up every even number of plywood sheets, you will come out on top
