I own the 30mm and going to buy both, the 16mm and 56mm hopefully! The only downturn for the Sigma DC DN lenses is the missing stabilization in combination with A6000. For all A6xxx series with IBIS it is neat! As a solution a Gimbal could be used. Greetings from Germany and keep up your awesome work! Just picked up this beauty on sale. Have the 30mm and it is stunning so I’m giving this one a try to replace my old Sony 50 1.8 that has a failing internal motor.
Is this lens definitely weather-sealed? The same lens with the Canon EF-M mount most definitely isn't weather-sealed and it specifically states that in the instructions which come with the lens. Can you see a weather-sealing gasket on the lens mount? There didn't seem to be one from what I could see in your video.
Since you have the Sigma 16 and 56 already, are you considering the 30mm as well? I am curious if the 30mm will produce good value beyond what the 16mm can provide.
I’m loving your channel! I’ve been using this lens for a few months now (on an a6400) and it’s fantastic. I’ve got the Sigma 16mm on the way, and can’t wait to try it out (actually, I went looking for videos shot with that lens and that’s how I stumbled on your channel). Subscribed ❤️

@@czareko4889 well you could check your street photos by the 16-50 and the 55-210 and actually see what your most clicked (favourite?) focal length is and decide based on that.. 😉 But remember in narrow streets the 56mm might be too tight 🤔
have you experimented with flashes yet? i have been thinking of godox v350s for shooting indoors parties & potraits. i would appreciate any opinions you might have on it.
Have you tested the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 lens, for HSS (High Speed Sync) compatibility? My new Sigma 56mm f/1.4 lens FAILS, when used with my Sony a6400 camera and Godox V860iii speedlight. Illumination is massively overdone.
I have Sigma 56mm with my Sony a6400. Even though it is an amazing lens for portraits, it is very hard to get some background in the image. Especially if you take full body shots. I am 6'3", take self portraits, and in the images there are not much background. If you put camera very far then, focus gets lost as you are very far away. I am planning to get 16mm or 30 mm to be honest but could not decide.
Hi Iceland Guy 😀, I am using a Canon M6 MK2 with a 85 MM lens on Viltrox speed booster. If I have to choose between Sigma 30mm and 56 mm, which woul you suggest for Portrait photography. I mean I am getting great photos with speed booster. But want to have another lens with different focal length
It’s made for APS-C and there is still a 1.5x crop when mounted to an APS-C body. In fact, any lens put on an APS-C body will have a crop, because it’s the body (w a smaller sensor) that does the cropping, not the lenses. A lens being designed for APS-C or FF simply means they’re optimised for different sized sensors. An APS-C prime normally wouldn’t produce an image circle big enough to cover a FF sensor.
After having bought and tested the 30mm F/1.4 on my a6100, I'm looking forward to add this lens to my collection in the future: I can see it being my go-to option for portraits, but knowing the actual situation, it may be a long time until we can go back making portraits without masks... I'll probably buy I wider angle lens first, that would be more usable for my RUclips channels. I can't decide between a Samyang 12mm F/2 NCS CS and the Sigma 16mm F/1.4. The first one would be great for architecture, landscapes, street photography, but maybe too wide angle for my RUclips videos. The latter is a little bit tighter, can gather way more light and has better autofocus, but it costs like 60/70% more than the Samyang...
I recenrtly bought the Sigma 16mm F/1.4 and I couldn't be more happy with it. The clarity, the bokkah even for such wide aperture is amaaaaazing. You will definitely NOT regret if you go for the Sigma even if it's more pricey than the Samyang. My next lens will be the 56 for sure, gotta have from the both worlds! :)
I own the samyang 12mm f2 and il say even though it's a good budget option that's for the purpose of landscape and interior style shots, the sharpness is alright but the distortion is quite bad , on my copy at least, the manual focus ring is quite stiff and hard to reach especially when the lens hood is on, so il recommend you to save the extra 1-200 and go for the sigma 16mm 1.4, it's much sharper and easier to work with especially with what you aim to do, RUclips videos as you said
@@mcwaffles121593 I usually shoot Standard or Neutral for everything, but it doesn't matter as I shoot RAW. I make all the changes afterwards in Luminar.

First off love your videos! I play with video every once and a while and the rolling shutter keeps kicking my butt(on a Sony APSC). What tips do you have for fighting it?
@Thomas in 4k move the camera as little and as slow as possible (especially when panning). If you have to record big movements (camera movements of fast moving objects) switch to 1080 @ high FPS (60/120), the rolling shutter is greatly reduced in high FPS modes. Hope this helps.

No issues at all keeping up with 14fps. Literally every shot in focus. Are you saying if I stop down a bit, it'll focus inaccurately, or is this just an issue with the Sony version mounted on Sony cameras?
@@cooloox It is an issue that only happens with Sony cameras. Especially on the 6000/6300/6500. Sigma and Sony know this problem, but they are not able to fix this Problem since years.
