Thank you so much for this information and demonstration! I have several extra of these wood panels that I used for mosaics and now I have the perfect use for them! You always have the most clear explanations in your videos!
You are so welcome!
This was such a helpful tutorial. I love understanding the thinking and processes, of what didn't work and why, and the solutions you came up with. It was great, thank you.
Thanks for watching.
I'm in Aus🇦🇺 and I thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience and I also wish you well with your exhibition.
I love how I can meet people from all over the world here. Thank you so much for watching and letting me know you are here.
Thank you for this. It’s extremely helpful. 👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Susan, I use D rings and wire, but I put my rings on the inside perimeter of the cradle.
Yes, I do that on the larger work. For this exhibit they are making me use d-rings with no wire. So I'm doing both. I can't wait to see how they plan to hang them.
Thanks for your tips!! Great ideas!
Thanks.
Sometimes it’s the little things that make you slap your forehead and say “Why didn’t I think of that?”. Putting another board against the one to be signed to make it level is a game changer. My signature was always a mess when my hand was hanging in midair. That’s one I won’t forget, thanks.
LOL. Glad I could help. I agree it's the little things. We all have our ways of doing things. Thanks for watching.
Some galleries insist on wire and D rings.
Yes. Also in this case but I still prepare it this way for the collector
I very much like this way of hanging these wood panels. However I entered a triptych of these panels in a show that required the wire hangers. Sometimes I think some galleries are not very knowledgeable about these deep panels.
My exhibit next month is at a venue that has a lot of concrete and they require d-rings with no wire. So I'm going to do both. The d-rings for the venue and my way for the buyer.
My understanding is gesso does not seal the wood adequately. Gloss medium is the best first layer
Thanks for sharing that.
I have problems figuring out what colour to sign in so it doesn’t clash or stand out more than the print itself.
You can always use a color found in the artwork. I have a hard time signing with a paint brush. What do you use?
Do you also satin varnish your collage?
Yes, in this case I used satin varnish. Sometimes I prefer gloss varnish.
@@SusanCliftonArtist thank you Susan. I have learnt a lot from you.!!
