Or, the trend in Chicago is to have no deposit (cuz of complex and confusing laws) and have a non-refundable fee that is several hundred dollars.

My husband and I had a rental it was and old historical house beautiful and every one we rented to trashed it like this I told my husband I was done tired of cleaning up pig sties,we ended up after the last mess it took us close to a year we completely renovated it from top to bottom put it on the market and the first day is bidding war started we made way more then our listing, I am so happy not having to deal with it and not even getting rent.

I think you are just incredible to go in there and tackle a situation like that. The sight of those cockroaches made my skin crawl. I can't even imagine humans living in there. My heart goes out to the poor girl who got bullied. She probably wasn't too clean and it's not her fault. I really hope she is doing better now. In my country (New Zealand) if you rent a place, you will have an inspection every 3 months or so and you could never get away with trashing your place like that. Also there is some respite care available to parents of autistic children. Is there nothing like that in NYC? I feel for the mum too as she has had a tough road, but I wish she had reached out for help sooner. That filthy mess has taken quite a while to pile up like that. To be honest, I really don't understand how a person can eat or drink something and then just chuck the packaging or containers on the ground. I really hope the mum gets on her feet again, and whatever help (psychiatric?) she needs. Your helper was awesome too - big thanks to him.

WOW! I cannot believe there were 98 bags! NINTY-EIGHT! ... I almost wish there were just two more bags to get to a neat 100 😅. The roaches were freaking me out, I don't know if I could have coped. You've made such a huge impact in their lives on just this space alone! 💜💜💜

I always wondered how cleaners keeps bugs off of them cleaning. My guess guess their ammune to them somehow. Must be so bad for the cleaners to put up with the bugs. God bless them and Barbie to help these people get there life back. Depression must be awful for alot of people..I myself deal with it . I deal with it by cleaning solves two things keeps you busy plus a clean house. People laugh at me for constantly cleaning. But that's ok.

I know what it's like to grow up in a home that easily could have gotten as bad as these places you clean so I try not to judge. No place gets like this from laziness, as so many people assume. The world we live in makes it so difficult to even survive that sometimes cleaning gets put on the back burner until it gets so bad there's no going back until someone lovely like you helps them. ❤ thank you for your work ❤
I’m not afraid bugs or insects, but I would be afraid of transferring some of those little critters to my own home. Is there any procedure that you do when you leave an infested house to make sure you’re not carrying any on your person? You work so hard!

@@sp-1973 only if anyone noticed. Often the schools have no idea. Also, removing non verbal autistic kids is often not the right choice at all. It would wreak havoc with their mental health.
@CookwitchCreations I'm pretty sure that people noticed! Those kids would have smelt and looked dirty. That's most definitely noticeable and Schools would have noted a safeguarding issue. You cannot tell me that those kids smelt fresh and clean

I don’t think they ever take out the trash. Kids are living in this home and one being special needs. If you can order food and or bring things into your home you can order or buy trash bags and throw your garbage away. You really can. Barbie I’m so happy you do what you do. I applaud this mother for staying in the fight . Extreme circumstances can paralyze us-- I am a "clean freak"- obsessive need for "control" in the midst of chaos. We do our best- for me it was just staying alive at times. I still binge eat and lack routine -- unhealthy coping mechanisms
Same when faced with unbearable sorrow my first instinct is keep busy and it's usually cleaning obsessively. My heart may be broken, but my house is clean; need a fix for my heart.
Where is the father? The grandmothers/-fathers? So sad. If someone has to carry the burden alone for a long time someday it's enough. I work with little kids and you can see who will get help and prosper (if nothing changes dramatically) and who might face difficulties later on. Someone like Barbie is a blessing.

I have only had 1 time where I found a cockroach in an apartment. I mean one cockroach and I went nuts! I immediately scrubbed the kitchen from floor to ceiling and got airtight containers for all my food and a special trash can. LOL. I ever saw him again. He probably thought “wow, that lady is nuts, I’m going someplace where the folks aren’t psycho!” I cannot imagine living with thousands of them everywhere. Question: once you clean, and they spray, does that really stop the bugs? Or are they just everywhere in NYC?

Seeing the challenges of living in NY city apartments with the trash situations, it shows the need for an affordable apartment trash service or interior trash removal a door to door. Having one building for pickup to building dumpster for a small fee could generate alot. In rural and suburban areas, teens will even mow lawns or shovel snow. Of course there are services too. The average person cannot afford or use occasionally or sacrifice for the service. I'm sure it's not as simple, but a need. God bless you Barbie for helping overwhelmed and out of control circumstances! ❤

My dear please get some hazmat jumpsuits. Those creepy crawlies can get on you and bite. And im not just talking about roaches and spiders. There can be mites, fleas, bed bugs or even scabies that are very small so small you can't see them. You do amazing work, but please always protect yourself.

girl you need a Tyvek suit for such as this. ive watched people even duct tape their ankles so the roaches and fleas can get into their pants. i had a young girl feeding my cats while i was gone once, and after that we had roaches. i couldnt figure where they came from until i went to her house to pay her, and saw roaches ALL OVER THE PORCH WALLS!!!!!!! i wanted to throw-up.

Yes I am afraid of roaches myself especially the huge ones. Grooses me out to see one of the buggies of the size of some roaches. I live in Florida I have seen gigantic roaches come out of Palm trees. Which I just couldn't believe plus it scared me at the same time. Also Banana a trees in the yards have giant spiders. I saw big spiders come out of my sister's yard from bananas trees. That was in Miami Florida. So no palm trees or bananas trees near me. Florida beautiful place to live but don't like the giant roaches or spiders. I avoid them much a possible.
The last thing people in situations like this need to be worried about is being embarrassed. They need to be worried about their kids being takin by cps cuz no child should have to live in trash, no excuses! Throw that shit away now, if not for urself Do it for ur children who don’t have a choice!!!
As bad as it may seem, at least they're taking the steps to get better. & This is what Barbie mentions in her videos. Speaking down on a person will not make the situation any better. Help out instead of just judging.

I had to take a break from watching when you cleaned from under the table. That amount of roaches made me overwhelmed and I was just watching through a screen. I can't imagine being there in person.
I had never seen a cockroach until I went to Hawaii in the early 80s. They were in the condo we rented but would disappear when the lights came on. Then I cleaned a friend’s hoarder trailer home and his cockroaches were everywhere! Even inside the freezer and refrigerator. They are unbelievably cringe inducing to me and I thank God there are none in my home.
American people are using so much plastic containers and everything's landing in land fild probably none of this is recycle.😢

I’m sorry but this is child neglect and no child should live in conditions like this. It doesn’t surprise me why a child would get bullied at school living in a home like this. The child more than likely didn’t have clean clothes and probably had roaches crawling on them at school or out of their book bag. This is just ridiculous.

Im scared of roaches...and I live in Florida. I keep my house very clean because of this. Every once in awhile, if doors are opened & closed, you may get a palmetto. Thiis is a pretty name for a giant roach that flies...I have bad phobia so Im totally amazed how you do this! You are an angel to these people in need!❤️🌞

I have worked in houses where there were roaches and I would not wear my shoes in my house, i left them outside, and changed my clothes and put them in the washing machine with hot water when I got home. That amount of trash is just incredible.
