I love the fact that you clean older houses with older furniture, in real life the majority of people live simply and can't afford for everything to always be brand new. You show that by cleaning and using what you already have it make everything fresh and the people who are ill and struggling feel so much relief and happiness

Cleaning and repairing old houses and old furniture is a whole different thing especially antique furniture. No matter how clean, they are not going to look new. Thank you for being willing to tackle these homes so filled with trash and bugs. Not only is it a clean start but allows professional trades people to come in and do needed repairs. You are doing such a great service!!

Barbie, I have such admiration for you - not only for what you do for these people who desperately need your help. Mainly for the way you march into these situations KNOWING that you’re going to be confronted with things that are on your “no!” list like spiders. Cockroaches are a hard no for me. I just can’t imagine how hard it it must be for this lady to be all alone, in one of the biggest cities in the world, her husband dying, then getting diagnosed with cancer, and her children being absent. Each one of these in themselves could debilitate a person not alone all of them together. I could see how being so mentally tired that it would be difficult to clean. If that makes sense to anyone. It’s truly a godsend that you are able and willing to help her get back on her feet.

There is a difference between constructive criticism and trolls who are just mean to be mean. Mental health is important and when she is doing her best in the worst situations and people just point out things to be mean and rude they aren’t worth her time.

I'm a housekeeper too. Old houses and old furniture are very difficult to clean. Surfaces are uneven, over painted, dimpled & scratched. It takes AT LEAST twice as long to clean older houses than new houses!!!

You know; you say that the sorting bit is not "exciting" but I like sorting better than cleaning. I want to know how you categorize, where the bins/bags/piles go and what will happen to all the things. I like that story and to know the ending.
I like recycling as well and loved it when you took the bottles out. I would never throw plastic in regular garbage (there is very good recycling in my country) and love all the sorting.

I love that you bought clean linen, especially the mattress protector for the bed💕 You cleaned that floor beautifully with a scraper and on your hands and knees, not many people would have done that. Cleaning older houses and furniture is difficult because the stains and marks are often things you can't remove and you have to be so careful because you can't go scrubbing things too hard because they can just break... but they are clean now! So YOU ROCK Barbie!!! ❤

It is a sad reminder how horribly many people cope with life. I remember the first time many of us were introduced to hoarding. It was an Oprah episode many years ago. I had never heard of it let alone see anyone living in those conditions. For year's I've watched the TV show and have always loved the transformations even though I know many people don't continue to improve but will revert back. But it is so wonderful to see the before and afters. And when people can deeply appreciate it, maybe it's a push that may help. Love you Barbie...you are kind and amazing! 🥰
So good to see that I was not the only one being shocked to see a hoarder's house. I remember the house of another student who invited me😩home. I was baffled. For her, it was normal😨 I didn't say a thing, just took a hotel room (and ate somewhere else). So Barbie is not only helping one person, I believe. Kids need to be invited to other houses and the other way round. And they should learn that there is help out there.

The apartment that I live in is in a very old Victorian house. My kitchen is from the 70's and the bathroom is old. I don't think people really understand how difficult it us to clean old houses. I can clean but it doesn't look like I did clean.
