the CGI graphics looked straight from a video game to me. it definitely felt and looked cheap. even filming inside a mech is probably to cheap out on costs too, having J-Lo sit inside a robot suit and act inside it.
You’re probably right about filming inside the suit as a cost cutter. I thought the CGI was fine for some of it, but some of it wasn’t very good as well. It’s to be expected with a Netflix film. I didn’t even look to see what the budget was for this. Now I’m curious to see how much they actually spent on it.

@@desiderata333 thanks for the info. I guess it’s not too bad for that budget, but when you see something like Godzilla Minus One, I would expect better for movies with bigger budgets.

JLo as the lead actress is a pass lol. Netflix to me produces alot of mediocre movies. I wouldn’t even have Netflix if my wife didn’t watch some shows on there. I can’t remember the last time I used their app myself. Shame this is not very good.
Occasionally, they have a good movie, but you’re right there’s a lot of mediocrity. I tend to like their shows better than their movies, but even then it’s still the same problem. As much as I blasted the film, the concepts have been done well in other films so I do think there’s a good movie there if the execution all around is much better.
it susrprised me as a good movie, must admit I don't like Jlo but I did think it was possitive and nice to watch something that leaves you not feeling about an apocaliptic future
Ultimately if you enjoyed it, then that's all that really matters. I will agree that it ended on a more positive note than other films with similar concepts.

Appreciate the comment. I’m glad you enjoyed it. That’s interesting because somebody else said that the CGI reminded them of a video game. It didn’t connect with me at all, but to be honest I haven’t played the game. Maybe I might get the same vibe if I had played it.

Good Sci fi movie after a long time , Jennifer acted well & so did Simu and the rest of the cast , enjoyed the movie

Reminds me of Sylvester Stallone with Judge Dredd: in that it was a self engrandizement film. It was all about her: the attempted lame sarcastic wit. The braniac. The wise one. Oh and she is also the cause of the near end of the world and it's solution. I titled it: Jennifer Lopez, The alpha and omega. Now that we know that she has defrauded many into believing she was a singer, now with this film I'm doubting her acting skills. I give it 1.5 stars.
I think 1.5 stars is probably what I would have given it as well. I know some people that really liked it, but I just wasn’t one of them.

I ONLY WATCHED 1 HOUR AND 5 MIN AFTER 3 FIGHTS WITH MYSELF, BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO MISS THE HOCKEY MATCH BECAUSE IN ROMANIA THE MATCH WAS AT 3 AM, FOR FEAR OF SLEEP, I I INTENDED TO SEE THIS MOVIE UNTIL THE END. THIS ABOMINATION OF A MOVIE HELPED ME MORE THAN 10 COFFEES, EXACTLY THE DESIRE OF THE CHARACTER PLAYED BY J LO THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE. I WAS SO FURIOUS FOR THIS EMBARRASSING PRODUCTION. BY THE WAY, I WAS GLAD FOR EDMONTON IN THIS MATCH 6.

It was so badly writen it became laughable, Jlo never disappoint in creating mediocrity. Over acting & hysterical at all time, with crazy hair & eyes. She cast herself as a brilliant analyst & chess player 😂😂😂😂 Jlulu is really not well read at all.

@@Boblovesmovies I wasn't expecting it was going to be that good. It was total silence in the room, people got really sucked in. Of course Kirsten Dunst & cast were great. Jesse Plemons played his small part so well. Loved the way they filmed it & the score was really good as well. Hahaha so enjoyable when a good writer is behind a well thought project.

I didn't think that Jennifer Lopez was bad. I feel like these type of Sarah Connor / Ellen Ripley roles call for a little bit of overacting. My issue with this movie is that they took concepts from multiple sci-fi classics and made something inferior. Having said that it's decent for a popcorn-movie night if you haven't set your expectations too high.
I think that’s a fair assessment. You might be right and maybe she was directed to overact. I’ve just seen her give better performances. They definitely take concepts that have been used before and make them inferior. At the end of the day, it was a free movie so I don’t feel like I lost anything watching it. Appreciate the comment.

Isn't it the young people who want this kind of garbage? Overly strong female lead who girl-bosses her way through the plot?
