      @@rnzynow I find that Im doing better selling brand new shoes. I have slack off on buying thrift store shoes because of their price gouging 15 to 25 dollar for name brand (Niagara Falls NY. seems like the reseller capital of the world and they know it). I usually can go get brand new pairs for those prices and dont have to clean them (Just my opinion). Thanks again Rnzy.

    I have a question. I just got a shoe haul from a garage sale. A bunch of Nike and Adidas from like 2012. I'm having trouble identifying some of these from just the tags alone. Do you have any tips for identifying older sneakers? Like I have a pair of Charles Barkley Air Force Ones but that's an easy ID. I'm struggling with some of the others. Any help is appreciated. You guys were a big part of my reseller journey! Thank you so much.

    • @rnzynow
      @rnzynow  3 года назад +2

      On Nike using the 9 digit code on the inside tag on google should give you all the info you need if they are authentic. For Adidas it’s usually a one or two letter combo followed by 4-5 numbers on the inside tag. Again…if they are authentic putting those numbers into google should bring up the name and then you can use the name to look up comps. If nothing comes up on google that’s a red flag.

    The question I need to know is.... Why no Ebay??? They have the biggest audience as compared to mercari and poshmark.

    • @rnzynow
      @rnzynow  3 года назад +1

      A lot better seller protection on other marketplaces with a lot less headaches and it’s much harder to run a game plan on multiple marketplaces when EBay is one of them.

    What videos do you watch on RUclips for information about shoes?

  • @ArbitraryLifestyle
    @ArbitraryLifestyle 3 года назад

    Bought 8 pairs from Marshalls, FB Marketplace (brand new), and Burlington. Not one of them sold even after reducing prices to barely any profit. Thankfully I was able to return them all except for the FBM shoes. Folks, the shoe game ain't for everyone and if you're not in a place with an abundance of nice shoes I'd say pick another niche/category.

    • @rnzynow
      @rnzynow  3 года назад +1

      Did you research the comps before you bought them on the marketplaces you planned to sell them or did you randomly buy them and guess what they should sell for?

    • @ArbitraryLifestyle
      @ArbitraryLifestyle 3 года назад

      @@rnzynow I did :( I put 6 of them on GOAT, 4 of them on Stockx, and all 8 of them on Ebay and Poshmark. They weren't super popular models because stores around here just don't carry them. Being successful at retail arbitrage is all about location. I sold $54K on Amazon last year living in Denver, CO, but can't find much at all here in Chattanooga, TN.

    • @rnzynow
      @rnzynow  3 года назад +2

      If you researched the market value on those market places and bought them low enough with respect to the comps you should have made money. It sounds like you didn’t check the market value before buying….because if they weren’t selling well on those marketplaces you shouldn’t have bought them. And if you did see they were selling well based on comps and your buy cost you would have made money…..something isn’t right in your story.

    • @ArbitraryLifestyle
      @ArbitraryLifestyle 3 года назад

      @@rnzynow Definitely the fact that they weren't selling very well. I hoped that lowering the price would help that, but it didn't in my case. As mentioned before, Chattanooga area doesn't have any of the popular styles so I'm not able to justify being in the sneaker selling biz. Happy I could return them and I'll stick to what I know works regardless of location.

    In you opinion what selling platform pays the highest average actual value for a shoe reseller ?
    ?

    • @rnzynow
      @rnzynow  3 года назад +2

      The one you enjoy using the most. The reality is you can make a significant amount of money selling shoes on every marketplace. People are doing it every day. The one that will provide you the most value is the one you look forward to using. For example….we don’t like EBay so we don’t use it. We love Poshmark so we use posh. We can’t sit here and tell you you can’t make money on EBay. And visa versa you might not like Poshmark so it will be tough for you to make money there. Try a bunch of marketplaces and widdle it down to the ones you enjoy and then build 💪💪

    Been watching your videos, learning about selling shoes on Mercari. Just had a question about authentication. When trying to list a pair of Reebok's, It asked for model #. I'm not sure what it is. There is a number listed on the tag, on the tongue, but I don't see a model. Does that mean these are fake, and I can't list. Not sure how to have Mercari authenticate.

    • @rnzynow
