Tips and ideas. I saw the announcement Today for Home Goods/TJMaxx all closing and IMMEDIATELY thought of you guys and how you are going to handling this 'natural disaster' (if you will). I know only essential sales are allowed for Amazon Sellers...I very much wondering what resellers 'emergency plan' or 'just incase plans' may be, If any?
also, just fyi, I was banned on marketplace for selling too much and making too much in a short period of time. I learned that marketplace is nasty...if a competitor wants to take you out, they can take you out. Just click the report button over and over and youre out. Good luck.

I want to know what date of the month cycle starts and ends for Mercari and Ppshmark. See on ebay the cycle starts every 16th and end on the 15th midnight and the fees are 10% of the sales. I want to know when is for Mercari and Poshmark cycles. Also on shipping questions for USPS. The shoe box 7/12 x 5 1/8 x 14 3/8 is not a flat rate. Do you have to weight and enter the weight to print a label or do you go post office and let them determined the price for every customer. I appreciate the post and more power to your business.
There are no cycles or confusing fees on Poshmark and Mercari. The fees are taken out upon each sale so you know exactly how much you are making. There are no store fees like Ebay. Fees are only charged if you make a sale.
On shipping...everything under 5lbs ships for $7.11 and most shoes weigh less than 5lbs. Simply print and ship on Poshmark. On Mercari you simply put the weight of the item when listing...when it sells you print the label and ship.
It’s always best to ask tax questions to a local professional. There are so many rules that differ from state to state and we are not professionals. We use the self employed version of the Quickbooks App and keep track of our taxes on a quarterly basis.
I had a guy call me "A JOKE" because I wouldn't accept his low ball offer. So I blocked him for his rudeness. My item sold for asking price within an hour later. So I agree with you on that note. 👍 Oh and I did look up the rude person's page and he only sold similar items to what he was trying to buy from me. Which only made me feel like he was trying to get something for "almost free" just to go resell them on his page. 🙄
On Mercari we don’t usually repost pairs. If you’re doing your research before you buy and pricing with respect to the comps they should sell. If you didn’t do that then repost them now and then use the offers to Likers if they don’t sell in a week.

Great Video! Do you use Pirate Ship or Mercari Shipping Label. I don’t see Priority Mail available on Mercari Shipping. Only USPS Standard FedEx or UPS. All very high on shipping rates. If I sell on a Posh I am good but Mercari is more expensive. Not tried Pirate Ship but maybe I need to with shoes sales on Mercari?
On Mercari it’s only first class when it’s less than 1 lb. almost every pair of shoes weighs more than 1 lb. When you’re listing and you put the correct weight in for the shoes the first class option goes away.

We do a ton of research before we buy inventory and have multiple game plans to sell each pair so our inventory always sells. If you have inventory not selling it usually means you bought it without doing enough research.
Good content. I have been trying to build my Mercari store. only averaging $100 a month right now. Question.. How many items do you have to have in your store to do those numbers? Also what is the time frame to reach that goal. I know it differs for person to person, I just want to get an idea where to start.
It’s not about quantity it’s about quality. Someone can list 1,000 items and get no sales and someone could list 100 items and sell through them in a day. It’s about doing your research on the completed sales on Mercari and then finding those items at a low enough buy cost to make money.
don't think this was explained in your video but- do you use a PO box address when you ship your sold items or do you use your regular address. I'm about to start on this app, new seller and i'm a little unsure if i should use my home address. don't think it makes a difference but your feedback will help my anxiety a ton Lol

We run our entire business from our phones so it’s easy and takes a few seconds. We’ve sold over 14,000 pairs of shoes and less than 5 times have we sold the same pair at the exact same time. Appreciate you tuning in 🤝🤝 We use the same USPS boxes that we use on Poshmark (“Shoe Box” and “1095 Box”) WHICH ARE NOT FLAT RATE BOXES....although they look similar. And yes you input the weight on Mercari while listing. Keep in mind the shipping cost and the market value is different on every marketplace so you may have to adjust your sourcing and pricing strategy.

@rnzy - I want to start Selling on Mercari butI’m concerned about getting scammed. I belong to a couple of Facebook groups and just the horror stories I hear of these people getting scammed. It really makes me think twice about using Mercari as a selling platform. Have you guys been scammed or nearly scammed since you’ve been selling on mercari?Or because of what you sell ,you don’t see that you find that happening quite often?
We’ve sold over $80,000 in Shoes on Mercari and have never been scammed. We also understand the difference between a red flag buyer and a legitimate buyer and make sure we don’t sell to the people that we obviously should not be selling to. For example, if someone is a trying to get you to text or email them off of Mercari...it’s a scam.
@@rnzynow ok I see. Yeah, I know about the red flag Buyers that want you to email or text them by a WhatsApp and off the selling platform. I know they're usually scams. But I was more so talking about those that return itemz And the buyer sends back junk instead of the item that was originally sent. Or they're just saying they don't like the item or the item wasn't as described and then won't pay you for it. That was my concern?
Sounds like that has happened to people (and I’m sure people flock to Facebook groups to talk about it) but in our $80,000+ in Mercari sales we’ve never had that happen to us.

Georgina Muns Santiago Poshmark, Stock X, FB Marketplace and Goat. We source at high volume thrifts like Goodwill and Salvation Army as well as Marshall’s, Burlington and the Outlets.

We list and cross list everything manually using our phones. We don’t even own a computer. All the photos are on our phones and we copy and paste the descriptions from app to app one pair at a time.

Only if the weight is under one pound. Simply change the weight to the proper weight for whatever you are selling. If it’s more than one pound it will be priority.
Hi, do you guys know how much you can sell on Mercari before you have to do llc paperwork or tax filings? I ask because I just made a big sale and they're asking me to confirm my ID (drivers license) to covert the sale to cash. Is that normal? Thanks.
Yes that’s normal when money is being exchanged. You don’t ever have to file as an LLC....you’re automatically designated as a sole proprietorship. We don’t give tax advice so it’s always best to talk to a local tax professional with these types of questions.

Yes we take out the price and if it’s written in the bottom we clean the writing off with any number of shoe cleaners found in Walmart or on amazon.

We’ve sold $280,000 on Poshmark and $70,000 on Mercari at a ~70% profit margin. All shoes. The opportunity is real.
Again that is awesome!! So around 30% goes to buying? I know you have to spend $$$ etc to make money😁

Charles Powell are you confusing the boxes we use with flat rate boxes? Although they look similar the boxes we use are not flat rate.

I have a question on cross listing: When an item that you have listed on Poshmark and Mercari and the item sells, say on Poshmark, do simply go and cancel the item from Mercari and vice versa? And have you ever had someone from both platforms wanting buy the same item at the same time?
Appreciate you tuning in! Yes that’s exactly what we do. When something sells we take the listing down off the other marketplaces. We run our entire business from our phones so it’s easy and takes a few seconds. We’ve sold over 14,000 pairs of shoes and less than 5 times have we sold the same pair at the exact same time. If you’re disciplined and attentive on your listings you’re good. If not then maybe stick to selling on one marketplace 🤙🤙 Sending you our best from Maine!

Just found you guys and loving your videos! Just branching out to Mercari from PoshMark.Regarding shipping of shoes, you are using the priority shoe box size from USPS? Trying to wrap my head around this since shipping is different from PM🤦🏼♀️. So just weigh shoes, input weight and then can use the shoe box boxes from USPS? I’ve been shying away from cross listing anything over a pound or any of the shoes trying to figure out the method. Thanks so much for any input!
Appreciate you tuning in 🤝🤝 We use the same USPS boxes that we use on Poshmark (“Shoe Box” and “1095 Box”) WHICH ARE NOT FLAT RATE BOXES....although they look similar. And yes you input the weight on Mercari while listing. Keep in mind the shipping cost and the market value is different on every marketplace so you may have to adjust your sourcing and pricing strategy.

@rnzy - I want to start Selling on Mercari butI’m concerned about getting scammed. I belong to a couple of Facebook groups and just the horror stories I hear of these people getting scammed. It really makes me think twice about using Mercari as a selling platform. Have you guys been scammed or nearly scammed since you’ve been selling on mercari?Or because of what you sell ,you don’t see that you find that happening quite often?
We’ve sold over $80,000 in Shoes on Mercari and have never been scammed. We also understand the difference between a red flag buyer and a legitimate buyer and make sure we don’t sell to the people that we obviously should not be selling to. For example, if someone is a trying to get you to text or email them off of Mercari...it’s a scam.
@@rnzynow ok I see. Yeah, I know about the red flag Buyers that want you to email or text them by a WhatsApp and off the selling platform. I know they're usually scams. But I was more so talking about those that return itemz And the buyer sends back junk instead of the item that was originally sent. Or they're just saying they don't like the item or the item wasn't as described and then won't pay you for it. That was my concern?
Sounds like that has happened to people (and I’m sure people flock to Facebook groups to talk about it) but in our $80,000+ in Mercari sales we’ve never had that happen to us.

It’s always best to check the completed sales of those sizes on the marketplace you plan to sell them to see if they are profitable or not.
Ik this is a year late lol but I would stick to more popular sizes like 8-10.5 in men’s

You can’t search for a particular seller at the moment but once you find a seller you can look through their listings.
Have the selling fees changed? I am charged 10% then a processing fee
They did. It's now the 10% plus 2.9% fee + $0.30 for each sale

We list and cross list everything manually using our phones. We don’t even own a computer. All the photos are on our phones and we copy and paste the descriptions from app to app one pair at a time.

We take hundreds of dollars every week. We’ve never had a problem. We do direct deposit.

Thank you 🤝🤝 You can win on all of the marketplaces so use the ones you enjoy. Whatever you decide to use make sure you’re checking comps “completed sales” on that marketplace when sourcing to see what inventory will be profitable.
hi there i hope you can help me out here :) so im having issues listing a item that i want to sell for $400 however when i got to list it they automatically send me a message saying i have to create a payment method first in order to do so (mind you i already have both my payment method and bank method on there) ive listed up to 100$ no problem what might be the issue with this? if anyone can help id appreciate it! :)
Can’t help you. We’ve never listed something for $400+ on Mercari.

I thought Mercari usps option is USPS First Class not Priority - what free boxes does usps offer that aren't priority - trying to figure out what I'm missing. Great content as always
Only if the weight is under one pound. Simply change the weight to the proper weight for whatever you are selling. If it’s more than one pound it will be priority.

Hi, do you guys know how much you can sell on Mercari before you have to do llc paperwork or tax filings? I ask because I just made a big sale and they're asking me to confirm my ID (drivers license) to covert the sale to cash. Is that normal? Thanks.
Yes that’s normal when money is being exchanged. You don’t ever have to file as an LLC....you’re automatically designated as a sole proprietorship. We don’t give tax advice so it’s always best to talk to a local tax professional with these types of questions.

good video. I average 10k profit per 4 weeks part time at night. Its a nightmare as I have zero time for a life but I have a great bank account. Used items are great but hard for the average person to scale.
