Just found your channel and I appreciate the attention to detail yall put into the channel. I've been restoring sneakers off and on since around 2012, I just went full-time with my restoration and customization buisness 2 months ago. I resell a pair here and there but I specialize in restoring mainly older retro jordans. I used all of the same tools you do here but many more. I just wanted to recommend a pressurized steam cleaner. I just bought one off Amazon for around 100 bucks but you can find them as cheap as 40 just depends on how much you plan to use it and brand names etc. I have to say this pressurized steam cleaner does way more than I could have imagined to get a deep cleaning done. Anyways keep doing the awesome work and you got a new sub out of me.

Goof off will get most inks off the bottoms of shoes. I also use Ronson lighter fluid. Works great on any kind of tar, gum on the bottom as well as residual label residue and evaporates leaving no trace.

A dry erase marker to get rid of the marker ink, just trace over it then use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to gently rub it, comes right off. Acetone (nail polish remover) works. Alcohol does too plus it disinfects. Dry erasers for white shoes all over or make a baking soda paste and use a toothbrush. Cheap and easy. Thanks for the videos always appreciate y’all! Put some on, let it sit 10-seconds or so, then use the spatula to get under and edge and scrape it off.

    • @rnzynow

Depends on how many pairs the buyer bundles and what our buy cost was for that bundle. We always try to offer at least 10% plus a discount on shipping. We can do so because we keep in mind when pricing every pair that we will most likely be negotiating with buyers. Give yourself some room to negotiate while still hitting your profit goals.

A couple of advices to you, the young, immortal people: first, instead of the "dry brush", use a vacuum cleaner hose with a brush attachment. And turn the damn vacuum cleaner on while brushing. Second, install an air exhaustion system in that workstation, to remove all the particles (organic and inorganic), fumes, and vapors you're releasing from these shoes, chemicals, and tools during this process. If you don't have where to vent it out to, or for the economy (a/c costs of replacement air), then at the very least, install a HEPA filter in line with a recirculating filtration system. That can be as simple as fitting a shop vacuum with a HEPA filter and have it run full-time with the hose near the work area, opposite of your nose (with the item between you and the hose). Shop vacuums have a lot of pressure but low volume, so the hose end needs to be quite close to the object you're cleaning at all times, in order to capture what you don't want going into your nostrils and lungs.

Thanks for the heads up 🤙🤙 Careful using acetone on shoes....it’s very easy to damage the shoes if not done very carefully.

I use acetone too. Just a q-tip barely dabbed into the acetone and quickly wipe. If that doesn’t work, lacquer thinner used the same way will always remove it. But again, you have to be even more careful with lacquer thinner. I use the tiniest amount and I always take the shoe to the product so I can keep it away from everything else. I also always do one final wipe down with Odorless Mineral Spirits to remove any oil or residue that may be left on the shoe (or other surfaces).
