    If I had a magna, I think I would put 1400 miles on it in a month. I LOVE that bike. A buddy of mine bought one before he got his M1 and asked me to help him pick it up. We drove 5 hours there and I rode that bike back. Was a 95’ and ran beautifully. He wrecked it beyond repair (frame damage) about 4 months after that and it broke my damn heart. I don’t talk to that buddy anymore

    As a 1999 Magna owner (3rd gen), needing a fork overhaul, this video is perfect timing. Mine definitely aren't that bad, but man your knowledge is so appreciated!!

    04 shadow vt1100, taking the bike out of storage for the last 3 years. The front fork seal/oil replacement has been stumping me. Been watching your other vids for years on maintenance tips. Putting this one out now is perfect timing thanks!

    i actually had to replace the left fork when i rebuilt mine.the retaining clip had litterally corroded themselves permanently in the retaining groove.judging by the color of the oil in them.they hadnt been serviced in 21 years.i was pissed because i had allready bought seals bushings oil caps & progressive springs.then an additional 100 for a rebuildable fork in good cosmetic shape.it was worth in the end.with progressive 412's on the rear, it rides & handles better than new.im glad the former owners serviced the brakes & engine better than the forks & shocks.

    I take the springs out and shove a broom stick down the fork to put some pressure on the bolt at the bottom and then use an impact, has not failed yet.

    Funny your doing a Magna. Have an 84' lawsuit 700 C, that I found in the Heart Lands of Ohio a while back. Sadly I'll be forced to address the front shocks at some point, along with it's carburators and other parts. Always appreciate your content and masterful instruction. Have a great weekend.

    I'd love to see a vid on doing the 80s air assist fork. Could use it for my 82 nighthawk 650SC. Manual just walks you through some of the steps. Then once you reach a certain point, it says to take it to the honda dealership to actually take them apart.

    Please consider a video on removal & replacement of the water pump on a 2003 Honda Shadow. Manual says engine has to be removed for this! Also, have you recorded a video on how to adjust valves using a feeler gauge for the same and/or similar bike? Thank you so much for creating this sort of content for all of us who appreciate it. Cheers

      Are you talking about a VT1100? There are a few different shadow models out there that share the name.

    • @cri8tor
      @cri8tor 2 года назад

      Yeah, my bad. Was referring to the 2003, Honda Shadow, VT750 ACE, but this has been an issue with other years of this model as well. Thinking about removing some of the engine mounting bolts and slightly lifting the engine to get more clearance.

    Great instructional video thanks. I’m currently doing a 1994 Magna but having problems with the carbs. Have you done a video for carbs on this model. My problem is everything is as it should be floats loose etc, replaced all jets and float valves, fuel just flows straight through contaminating the oil. Any ideas would be helpful thanks

    I have a question for you. In order to get it apart, If the head continues to turn inside the fork, how do you hold the head from spinning.

    If you’re expecting friends to drop by or especially if a small child is nearby try shimming the brake pads with wooden shims because no doubt about it your buddy is going to squeeze the lever while your calipers are hanging free. Definitely kids. Happens every time.
