Ever since I got my first Magna I have been a little obsessed with these things. I bought this one for $800 not running, and thought it might be a quick fix. 1986 Magna V65 (VF1100C)
NICE....it is a nice nice nice bike....DON'T get rid of it! BUY as much parts as you can KEEP IT!... I just restored a 1984 VT750C Shadow...MINT now and that was in Feb 2024 I started...I just got back from a road trip from Northern Ontario Canada to Cohocton New York on it! WILD JOURNEY....WILD RIDE....LOVE it....
I'm glad that you like it!!! I still have mine 1984 Honda V65 magna ever since I was 13 year old. I had to beg my father to buy me one cause my friend had one. I'm 53 year old and I'm original owner and still have it sitting in my computer room. It has 13,375 miles on it. Every blue moon I get it out and ride it to enjoying myself. Still love it tho.
Glad to see a young man have passion for the OG muscle bike, the legendary V65 Magna. You have great taste in bikes. Im looking forward to replacing my engine this spring. My 84’ through a rod straight through the crank case while riding at 80 mph, was lucky it didn’t lock up and kill me. I hope you choose to keep it and get many years and miles on yours. Good job getting it running.
My mother just gave me my father's 83 v65, heartbreaking that he is battling dementia so can no longer longer ride, Its been sitting since 92 cause life got in the way, its inside for all but about 2 of those years, I have great memories of him picking me up from elementary school on it, I plan to restore it. I have some health issues to check out but if all goes well will have to learn to ride first, then graduate up to a bigger one should take a couple years and bikes I'm planning to take me time learning to do is safe and when I'm good the mag wile be ready to ride occasionally. Will be following your channel on these, stay safe.
It's nice to see a younger guy appreciate the old Honda's. I use to work at a Honda Dealership back in the mid-late 80's. I got to look at and play with many of the old Great Honda's from that era. The Magna's were ALL sweet, but my real love was the VFR's. My Dream bikes are my current 2015 Honda VFR800, a 1986 Honda VFR 750 and a 1986 Honda V65 Magna. My first bike was a 1983 Honda Night Hawk 550. ( I use to hate those little V-twin Shadows..LOL!) - More old Honda videos Please!
I’m buying my uncle’s magna v65 this weekend. It needs new tires, rear turn indicators, and a new carb which he has in a box. So hopefully I can get it running before the end of the weekend and registered to ride by next week.
Way to go Dude !!! You made a great video. If this is your first go with the Magna I know how stoked you are. I bought a VF 700c 1984 Magna in November 1983. She was sweet. Only problem I had was pitted cams and Honda replaced all 4 of them for free - no questions asked. No problems the whole time I owned it. It still rode and looked like it came off the showroom floor. I messed up in 1991 by selling it. It lasted in perfect condition by always following the service maintenance instructions, regularly washing and continually riding it like I stole it. I know you’re gonna have a blast. Thanks for sharing. Keep the shiny side up. 👍👍👍👍👍
One of the more underated chanel ... big support from belgium ! I've a channel and i make a racing mower and do some easy mechanics on a lot of vehicule !
My favorite bikes. I had a 83 V65 and a 86 750 years ago. I drive a vtx 1300 c now and love it and got to love honda too!! I want to put floor boards on the front of my vtx c. Any videos on that Tyler? You live in nc?
I've got the exact same bike. Got a nice 4-1 supertrapp exhaust and the dude I got it from threw in stacks of boxes of spare parts. Pretty sure I have like 3-4 clusters lol. Had an older neighbor tell me my v-twin is revving too high and it sounds like shit haha, little did he know. Love Hondas, hate the wheezy exhaust sound ALL their bikes make lol. These Magnas though... Cruise at ~5k and still have another 5k of the angriest horses Honda ever made ready to turn you into a literal missile. Shit, I'm gonna go ride mine now. 17:28 I do the same thing, sound and all 😂
What’s your dream bike?
Anything VFR! 👍👍
VF 700c & VF 65. Early 2nd generation.
83 v65 Magna! Wanted 1 since high-school and the Lord threw one my way! She's old but runs awesome!
This one

I've got an 82 750 V45 and I love everything about it except the tiny main tank.
The auxiliary tank has screw in the bottom that you can drain the fuel that way
No way! That would have been useful to know.
love seeing a killer cool bike kept from being scraped.

I still have my 84 that I bought new. Love that bike. My Dad drives it now
Just starting to restore my 84 V65 VF1100C
I owned that same bike back in the day. Mine dyno'd at 96 hp to the wheel. These motors are unbelievable.
Miss my V65.
Always a good idea to back flush the radiator and block.
Just bought and 84 from the old man down the road for 300 just needs new fuel pump and lines
Great job budy ..
I want it!

I recently traded a 1986 trx350 for a 1983 V65

Nice but you should try your bike out of your block, to be nice with the neighborhood
Excellent
Great content! Can you do a video or explain how you print these gaskets? Sounds really useful
If you replace all the fuel lines that is ideal. Especially the large one between the big tank and small one.
Are u planning to keep it stock or do maybe a cafe racer build?? Cause I'm planning to do a cafe racer of my 750 cc
What filament did you use to print gaskets?
Hatchbox TPU
Does the clutch use brake fluid
Yes
@jackblock777 thanks I wasn't sure only hydrolic clutch I've messed with was on a ktm 300 exc and it uses mineral oil
