Its a matter of how many times it takes you to learn all the bosses moves and when he is likely to use them. In Sekiro for example, it took me 15 deaths to finally beat the Demon of Hatred, then another 5 to become almost untouchable. Thats why i absolutely love souls borne games. The games aren't necessarily about beating the bosses. They're more about perfecting your fightstyle against each boss so you feel like a god. Lol
A whole bunch of his attacks can be jumped over. Many bosses have ground based or sweeping attacks that can be jumped over. Punishing such attacks with jump attacking is great, helps keep up damage/posture damage during their attacks.
Ongbal is sort of a older brother for us. Whenever we get beaten af we just stop here to see Ongbal trashing the bosses in every way possible. So satisfying.
pretty sure panic rolling causes bosses to attack more because they can time their attacks to punish a poorly timed roll. if you stay calm like this dude the patterns are easier to read because the boss is leading the dance and you are simply reacting. obviously easier said than done
It isn't too hard to do a level 1 wretch playthrough, i'm doing it and i've come to leyndell already, first try margit and godrick but not without damage, and i also got the best smithing stones accessible to me before fighting them.

The reason why godrick lost despite his enhancements was because it was missing one simple thing he didn't get good and no amount of physical enhancements can make you get good it is something that must be earned.
I can't believe I never thought of jumping over the ground slam moves with AOE damage before... Ongbal, not only are you a god in terms of skill, you're also a genius.
@Fargo too used to souls like games having the weird sprint jump. I don't blame some seasoned DS players, forgetting they can jump over attacks in this game as a result

I love how people just forgets that you can just jump *vertically* in place in this game to dodge his earth shattering attack. Don't need to dodge roll at all.
The dodge roll just feels better imo. The jump can be finicky and for new players like me it's hard to get used to the boss' moveset fast enough to want to integrate jumps in there when sometimes you'll still get sent flying.

Impressive gameplay as usual. You've memorized the I-frame down to the T. Btw, this is for sure an easier game, for a veteran Soulsborne game, not for a newcomer like they said it is, lol. Especially if said newcomer following exactly where the grace pointing, it's leading them to their absolute death. The new mechanics is insanely plenty to use in our combat. There's the OP jumping R2, summons, horseback riding (Also OP to fight world bosses IMO), more consumable items to use, to say the least. This games absolutely rewards those who explore the world before fighting the next big main bosses. I am very much enjoying this game so far.
This is so true. After wandering a bit in the initial area and the little west, I decided to go east just to see new things. The more I saw more I went deep in the east, and was pretty hard due to my low level, but I managed somehow to survive and win some encounters. The world is so well designed that I was turning every stone to find new things about the story and characters. Jeez, what a trip. When I came back I felt like I had a ton of stories to tell people about what I saw. Headed south, spent a few more hours there, then decided to go ahead with the main story. Then I fought Godrick, with 28 hours in the game. All the time and effort I spent in the east made my character really strong for this one. And I feel amazed. And incredibly rewarded. This game is just something epic. Btw, a big FU for Crucible Knight, finally beat him.
@@KingOfMalevolence So true! I now holding off on summoning, I just realised that when I use summons to beat boss, I feel cheated. Now I only summon when clearing castle, or when I really really need them when exploring, which is a rare occasion. But whenever I'm fighting boss, I will not summon.

We already grasping the game's mechanic to heart (Especially the delayed charged attacks, goodness) I was also about 30hrs in when I finally fought Godrick, I beat him first try, and it felt amazing. And yes! FU Crucible Knight, he slaughtered me dozens of times, beat him in 50 tries. Gosh, what a relieve it was!
I'm one of many lore enthusiasts when it comes to Fromsoftware titles, so while I have no qualms about spoiling the gameplay, I'm choosing to experience the cutscenes blind, one of the reasons I quite like this still of video. For now, I am choosing to believe that Godrick's phase transition has no cutscene, and he simply squeals at you before suddenly turning into a giant stone dragon.
No damage runs seems so much harder in this game than previous souls games. It feels almost inevitable to be clipped by something. What is your experience with this, harder or easier? In either case, well played.
Definitely, many attacks have insanely wide arcs and crazy amounts of tracking, not to mention long and fast combos with different amounts of delays between individual hits. Margit gets memed so much because of this, but he is nothing compared to some bosses and enemies in the mid- / late game. Some of them are straight up not fun to fight imo because your character feels so sluggish in comparison.

After watching the attack patterns in my boss run I gotta say he’s honestly easy just being Passive and waiting for him to do his spinning roll thing into a down slam gives me the chance to do big boy damage same goes for when he does his dragon breath he leaves himself wide open giving for a chance to attack

I love it when games that have stats and equipment that make you stronger still give you the option to beat it with skill strategy or a mix of both.
I had no idea how much better light load was compared to medium.

Kinda hard to adjust to the tighter hitboxes lol. Not even Sekiro had the ability to consistently avoid attacks by regular jumping.

If you don't use spirit summons the game is a lot harder than other Dark Souls. Tell me 1 early boss in another Souls harder than Margit or Godrick.
Margit is at the level of Pontiff. Guy beats most of the early game bosses of DS3 and even contends mid to late game bosses.
