I love the side step. I've never seen one on a truck. It would be nice. I'm binge watching Ford Rangers and Ford Mavericks. I don't know whether to buy a Ford or a Nissan.
Nice to see you’re happy with the new vehicle. Cheers
good honest review
Great vid mate. Really appreciate the real life commentary. Looking at getting an XLS soon.
My Xl arrives March. I'll be fabricating my own sports bar and side skirt/step. Thank you for the review.
Just announced this in the states and I'm thinking of getting the base model as well. It is XL here and with a package STX. Looks similar but no rear seat vents on any version for some reason. We get 2.3 4 , 2.7 V6 and 3.0 V6, all turbo gas motors. The 3.0 raptor is going to be insane.
I have a 2020 3.2 diesel XLS dual cab ute, and I love it.
Covid19 has restricted the outback trips but no worries.
I added a Rino rack, a bullbar with winch, plus LED driving lights and side steps and a canopy.
No matter what we buy its never what the salesman tells you - so do your research before you spend your money.
That ladder rack is fitted to my 2004 Limited Ranger and I think it is a great feature that protects the rear window. Much better that the plastic rubbish that’s fitted to my next gen 2023 Wildtrak.
The e-shifter is awesome by the way. The three buttons on the side, working from the front, are + - and Manual. ‘Manual' locks the ratio, which can be changed with the +- buttons. In full auto the +- have to modes. The first is full auto with temporary ratio changes available by using + or -. The second mode is to limit the upper ratio that it will shift to. This is also adjustable using +- keys. It is far more versatile and gives greater control options than the manual shifter, which I also have on a 2014 Ranger
You can change the DRL to LED, you can't change the main lights to LED, LED upgrades to main driving lights are illegal (same as HID upgrades) this is because the reflectors have been designed for positioning of halogen globes, LED upgrade globes spray light all over the place (usually cheap Chinese made), the lights ends up blinding oncoming traffic
There are many quality LEDs now that are designed for reflector housings and they give you the ability to set your lights up properly as per the Australian standard.
They can actually have better cut off than a halogen and they don’t scatter light everywhere.
I have the next gen XLS in meteor grey. I took the ugly hurdle bar off as soon as I got the ute home and threw it in the bin.
I went to Super Cheap Auto and got the closest touch up spray can I could find and sprayed the sections that weren't painted. Can't even tell and looks soooo much better without that ugly board/bar
Seems more like a review of the add ons as opposed to a 6 month review .
What are the little black things at the cab side of the tub?
I’ve booked a vehicle that is a UK dealer stock order so I don’t get a choice. All the stock orders are Wildtrak bi-turbo 2.0 diesel with 20” wheels, electric bed cover and tow pack which includes some kind of electronics pack but not the surround cameras or the auxilliary switches. I have no need for the load cover, would prefer the 18” wheels and would prefer the surround cameras and B&O sound system and switch pack. The Wildtrak has the essential plastic load liner which I already have with my 2014 Ranger 2.2 automatic. Would also prefer the proper ladder rack as seen on the XLS and which I’m also used to on my 2014 ‘Limited’. I’m getting the bi-turbo, which is the one I would have chosen anyway, because it is cheaper, is quiet and refined and more powerful than even the last model’s 3.2 five cylinder. The V6 is a factory order with my dealer as are any other models or factory options and expected delivery is next March, so at least nine months. The stock orders for this batch are arriving in the next five weeks, or six weeks from my order. Hellish expensive but UK£25,000 less than a Grenadier and a known quantity, better suited to my needs.
How do I lock my rear diff locker?
not to bad but they do look a bit plane i would probably go for the next one up..
I can't get past the fact that rear passengers have no cup holders or centre arm rest.
I wish you didn't have to get dual zone climate control. Most over-rated feature ever. Needless complexity.
VERY TRUE
