Thanks for sharing this film it's cool that the 1st part of the film with the Norwegians was done Kate left & Lars was the only human left at the camp the Norwegians only had 1 dog after they bring the alien back to camp you can see the dog biting the metal cage to get out to get away from the alien bless it I thought it was killed but I think it hid from it & the last part of the thing took over the dog Kate killed the main part of it in the spaceship, I'm curious out of McCready & Child's who was the thing? at the end.
So now I'm curious about when Lars asks the helicopter pilot to open his mouth: What did the Norwegians discover about duplicates that you could then identify them visually through the mouth?
Helicopter catches up to dog, helicopter sets down, dog is still running. So yea, a helicopter can’t catch up to a dog because its speed is…wait for it…achieved by being in the air and is stationary on the ground.
I thought the pilot in the beginning was Adam Sandler.... I wish, there was a sequel. I know the story continued in the comic, and a sequel in the video game, but we need another movie..
Hi. Thank goodness the Norwegian scientist was a lousy shot or there would not be the first Thing. By the way, why do remote arctic outposts have sled dogs? Way it an 80’s thing? Thank you for posting the movie.
If you watch the scene of the people stumbling out of their bedrooms when MacReady hears the dogs howling and pulls the alarm, Doc isn't wearing any pants or underwear. Doc definitely lets his freak flag fly.
Amazing how a few simple notes makes for a very effective musical score. Love the soundtrack with this. Very ominous.
Nice to see that little snippet from the prequel at the start. Not as good as the original but a worthy attempt at a companion piece.
Agree
They need Jack Buryon from "Big trouble in Little China."
Best practical FX ever.
Thanks for sharing this video with deleted scenes.
The camps are about 1 hour from each other by helicopter, or about 5 minutes if you're a dog running in snow.
I have this in my list of Top 5 Movies. In no particular order: Alien, Cross of Iron, Memories of Murder, The Thing (1982), Margin Call.
@@rwrae72 Cross of Iron is amazing!
The thing absorbed my Diabeetuhs
One of my all time ever sci-fi movies! 👌
Mac wants the flamethrower!
What the hell does he want to do - burn a bloody alien...?
Remember it’s no dog
God damn Swede and digging in the snow😉, pure perfection ,beside Alien one of the top 5 SF movies, for me,🍻👌
What happened in the dogs' kennel kept me from watching the movie again for the next 2 decades.... 😢
Yeah it's disturbing
Someone actually screamed and ran out of the cinema I attended when the dog split open and the Thing hatched out...

Good job Mister thanks

The Thing can't replicate non-organic material, so tooth fillings aren't replicated.
Only in Hollywood.🤡
Helicopter cannot keep up with a running dog😄
helicopter that can't catch a dog. yup.
Its an Alien.

So sad they dropped the ball with the prequel 😔
What prequel???
@ Just about to pull up the dates for the prequel to post, then I went…”Oh I get what you mean” - Yep…totally understand your statement! 👍👍
Never really had a problem with it.

Where’s the new dialogue from?
If it's Antarctica shouldn't it always be daytime or always be nighttime?
Only at certain times of the year as they aren't at the pole.
And body is different from norvegion station
Not true,it is new took relief, attached to 1982
Though quite a gorey film it's one of best sci-fi horror films for sure.
Wouldn’t it be a nice twist that their ALL the thing but they didn’t know it? 🧐

No cell structure? What?
This isn't the 1982 masterpiece.
At 10:01 did not know Doc wore a nose ring!!?? 😮
