I wanna thank you so much for sharing this tutorial and teaching me how to make my very first doliy..You explain everything so clearly and very well... I will be your forever student..Thank you again. ❤❤❤
Aww, I'm so glad! I have a special place for doilies in my heart! Some people think they are old-fashioned and outdate, but I love them! So I always get excited to meet/connect with other crocheters who love doilies too!
@@OlgaPoltava Me too sweetie , ever since I was a little girl I loved doilies they make a home look cozy . I put them everywhere even over a mirror hanging on a wall… thank you again your awesome keep making those amazing tutorials….❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello Olga, I just wanted to say that it was a lot of fun to make this doily, and I like it so much that I even want to make more doily's. My favorite project are shawls and blankets, in all shapes and sizes. I've crocheted a lot of them in recent years. But now that I've found the doily.... that is so much fun to do😃 Well, I just crocheted your Doily and it just finished and has become very beautiful... I used a very nice soft yellow color, a little pastel-yellow. And I'm going to make your other doily's too, I'm already looking forward to it so much😀 First I'm going to bed now(02:15 CET) a bit late but I've had to finish my doily🤭 but I have a day off tomorrow, so I don't have to get up that early. And tomorrow I will begin with another doily. Byebye 👋 and wishing you all the best. Greets from the Netherlands and thank you so much for everything you are giving us by making gorgeous turtorials🙏🤗💐
After 2 years of crocheting I finally ventured on to working with size 10 yarn 😅 thank you so so so much for this very clear tutorial, I’m following your written pattern and it’s so easy to understand! ❤❤
Great instructions just started my second one. I like to make a dozen of the same pattern so I can have the same pattern and color throughout my house. Thanks for sharing.
I made mine with taupe mercerized cotton fine yarn, but not thread. Pretty yarn I bought on Amazon. I ran out of yarn about 2 rounds from the end. So I attached a leftover clump of yarn from another project. I hate attaching but it worked. And luckily the attached piece left me with a tail of about 5 inches.... the same as normal! Whew! But I had to single crochet into only the double crochet stitches on the final round, or I would have run out of that extension piece too (didn't want to open a brand new skein to finish). My final round isn't as pretty as yours, but it's nice. It's big too because I used a 2.75 mm hook. Thank you for your wonderful presentation. I used the written pattern mostly to do mine, and referenced the video where I got stuck. I'll make another one. It inspires me to "invent" a pattern some day as well. ❤
Thank you for this tutorial of this beautiful little doily. Very pretty and quick to work. You did a good job explaining and showing your work. I just finished and I'm very pleased with the results. Thanks again.
Oh, you are very welcome! Thank you so much for taking your time to leave me a comment and share your results! I greatly appreciate it! Happy crocheting!
I'm really enjoying this video. I know this sounds silly, but I actually enjoy seeing some hold her thread and hook the same way I do. It looks weird the way a lot of people work. I know that's strange, but it's how my mother taught me. I just discovered your channel, and I have subscribed and like it. Good job there, Olga.
Hi Karen! Once in a while I get a comment like yours - someone mentioning that I hold the hook and thread exactly as they do, which is not very common! This was the way my mom taught me to crochet too! And I have always crocheted this way and it comes very naturally and effortlessly.
I'm so glad! Not many people nowadays are into doilies, so it makes me really happy that there are still some crocheters who like them as much as I do!
Thank you for the clear and easy-to-follow instructions on this! The pattern is beautiful, and while I realized too late that it wouldn't show up as beautifully on my multicolour thread, it was still fun to do. I appreciate it!
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Royal Ronan Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Royal Ronan DAMN IT REALLY WORKED :O I literally got access to my ig account within ~ 30 minutes of using the site. Had to pay 15$ but for sure worth it =) Thank you so much you saved my ass !
good job on this pattern! not only the product is elegant and beautiful, it is also really fun to crochet! I think I already made 10 of these out of boredom haha.
Thank you sooo much for this video!! It was so helpful and clear. You teached me how to crochet 💕 it’s so nice that you speak in your videos too, because other people just write the pattern on the screen and that’s not helpful at all. I would love to see some more doily projects! 💕
Hello Olga, with prayers sent your way.. This Dreaming of Spring pattern has been in my collection. I am going to fashion it in Blue and Yellow DK. I am dreaming of peace, inspiration, and kindness.
at minute 24:13 why do you do chain 1 at the end of the round if you didn't do any between each set of 6 double crochets with chain 1 between each of them?
i am stuck on round 8 because you are going too fast and put your fingers in the middle, after the first loop i don't understand what you are doing if is a double crochet
5:22 help! Are you doing double crochet, chain 2, another double crochet where you did the other double crochet? I'm confused why I keep getting the wrong amount of stitches for this round. 😩
hello ma'am.. love this doily.already made one and also a lovely scarf from 1 of ur tutorials...i want to make this in a 3ply cotton yarn and I want to know which hook should I use so as to avoid curling and work stays flat..plz help🙏
It's a incomplete double crochet. In other words only pull thru first 2 loops on first DC, then begin a 2nd DC (without completing first DC) and pull thru the first 2 loops of the 2nd DC, then yard over and pull thru all loops. In effect joining together 2 DC.
Hi Rosa, honestly I don't know how I would go about making it bigger. When I designed it, I intended it as a small one. I do have several free patterns for bigger doilies on my blog: lacycrochet.blogspot.com
It's really hard to tell without seeing your work. Do you crochet loosely? It can be your crochet tension. It might flatten once you block it, but I cant tell for sure. Mine was flat as I was crocheting it.
A crochet decrease in this video is crochet two double crochet together. She does go fast but I don't think the video is meant to be beginner. There are plenty of good videos on crocheting two together if that helps, they'll go slow for those.

Hi, thank you! You should probably use the recommended hook size that is stated on the label of your yarn.
@@OlgaPoltava ok maam.thnx
How do you block your doilies? I’ve never done that before and would like to give your method a shot.
I simply soak them in water, then squeeze out the water, put them on a towel and stretch, straighten, and shape them by hand. Then leave to dry.
What is double crochet finish together? I’m stuck at this round
It's a double crochet decrease aka dc2-tog.
It's a incomplete double crochet. In other words only pull thru first 2 loops on first DC, then begin a 2nd DC (without completing first DC) and pull thru the first 2 loops of the 2nd DC, then yard over and pull thru all loops. In effect joining together 2 DC.
I love this pattern. 😊 Thank You
Would it be possible to customize this to any size? If so, how would you recommend one go about that?
Unfortunately no, there is no easy, quick way to customize the size. The entire pattern would have to be reworked.
Beauti pattern. How much thread will I need. I have 20 gram ball of different colors. Please help me
I used about 100 yards, I'm not sure how much that would be in grams.
Muy bonita carpetita 🙏💕❤💐🌹👍👊🎁🌟

Hi mam, can you suggest me a best crochet diagrams book containing doilies, tablecloth etc. or any other website paid if any. Thanks
How to increase the size of this pattern?
This is a one size only pattern.
What if I would like to make this pattern bigger
Hi Rosa, honestly I don't know how I would go about making it bigger. When I designed it, I intended it as a small one. I do have several free patterns for bigger doilies on my blog: lacycrochet.blogspot.com
What is the finished diameter size of this doily?
9 inches
@@OlgaPoltava Thank you.
Can I used red heart acrylic yarn? And can I used the 8-5.00mm hook for this project? I love your work!!!!💐🧡💐🧡👍🤩
Hi! I made this doily but it didn't measure 9".. I used the same materials.. Where did I went wrong?
Hi Sarıya, is your doily bigger or smaller? It could be the tension.
@@OlgaPoltava it's smaller.. About 5 1/2" :/
Could please let me know what is the diameter of this doilly crochet??
It's about 9 inches
wow
Mine won't lay flat and I don't understand why. This is my first time working with thread.
How can I avoid curling?
It should go away when the doily is finished and wet blocked.
Hi, I really love this design, is there a way to continue increasing rows and make it bigger?
Of course, it's possible, but I can't think of any simple way to do that. I'll try to make tutorials for bigger doilies in the future.
I started mine but it's wavy 😭 does anyone know what helps?
