I remember your name from the Spa week on Formula 3, because you kept dominating the races. Good to know there is a place where the secrets are revealed :D
Marian, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! btw... What is an "active reset point" I'm in iracing 10+ years and never heard u can practice the way you said in the video. Thanks for ur answer in advance.
Salut Marian, ma bucur ca am gasit canalul tau, abonat nou de azi 👍.Doar de cateva luni am intrat pe iRacing , eram curios daca oferi sesiuni si in GT3 sau numai in F3? Merci frumos
@GitGudRacing man! My quali time improved from 1 race before watching your video and 1 race after making the sound setting adjustment that you suggested! Thanks man. And it wasn't even a perfect lap either so more time on the table. I find I can't hear the downshifts as well with the engine volume at -10/-9 but I'll tweak it. Hearing the tyres are an amazing tip! Thanks
I notice that you have quite significant overlap between brake and throttle under hrs braking. Throttle and brake meet at approx. 50% most of the time. Naturally, I do about the same. Did you play with that and if so, found any difference in balance / temps / grip through the corner? I think in real life, drivers minimize that overlap because it must be harder on the brakes, but that doesn’t seem to be a factor in iRacing. Cheers man, great video!
Hi man, glad you noticed it! I started to work on getting rid of it, just recently. I talked with some good drivers and for endurance races this is definitely a factor - but for other races not so much, as I understood. I reckon though having no overlap will yeld more lap time, so it's definitely worth exploring.
@@GitGudRacing Thanks! I’m in the process of getting rid of it or at least get it to a 10% level that I often notice in fast driver’s telemetry. But it’s hard work and needs focus, or I’m back to the regular. I’m like 3 weeks in and I figure it’ll take at least 3 more to get rid of the habit I build at the start 3 years ago. I seem to have the best results forgetting about brake markers and instead choosing an off-throttle marker just before it and making sure that the feet move in sequence. In practice, it works really well if I’m mindful of it at least a little, in a race, especially when the heat is on, it’ll take at least said more weeks 😂
Using Off-throttle as an additional reminder for breaking is a good insight, thanks for explaining it. And yes - we drove so many hours with this habit, its def gonna take a lot of time to get rid of it. I'm going to challenge myself to do what you described, thanks for getting into the details!@@stefanheineken6930

@@GitGudRacing I started left foot braking shortly after I left this comment and have already driven probably 3 hours with it. The change wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, already feels natural.
I didn’t articulate it well enough, it’s not just the speed of the release which matters the most - it’s both that plus the drop off in pressure (dropping to quickly the threshold instead of holding it a bit more and then dropping)

I raced a lot that week, haha!
The active reset points are incredible! I used it to practice a corner over and over again when I was learning a track to get on the pace quickly
Brilliant idea for improving trail braking. Thank you!
This is exactly how I'm trying to get used the Indy car. I love active reset, saves so much time.
Next week, different circuit, back to 3k 🤭. Good job! 💪
Lets go brother! 🔥
Great vid mate
Awesome video!
Thanks dude

Ok, i researched now... didn't even know they put that in. can't believe I missed it. but thanks to your video again i know now. :):):)
awesome, thanks for the kind words!@@brunch1691980

Thanks for the great videos. What is a good overlay to use for brake/throttle/speed etc?
Thanks! Racelabs is quite good!

What if I told you the secret to mastering something is practice. DUUUUUUH
It’s simple, right? 😅
Is left foot braking crucial to being fast in iRacing/other sims? Ugh I'm still right foot braking.
it is! it's a big advantage.
@@GitGudRacing I started left foot braking shortly after I left this comment and have already driven probably 3 hours with it. The change wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, already feels natural.
Im assuming you dont use brake assist anymore right?
I still use brake assist and keep hearing from people saying to stop using it
@@IAMJRAD Yes, there's no reason to use it, it's slowing you down!
Your braking at the trail brake sections drops off at the exact same speed.
