    *Have I ever helped you make a purchasing decision or enlightened you on an awesome new game you enjoy?*
    Fan donations and sharing my videos among friends, greatly helps to support Boomstick Gaming. Thank YOU!
    I found this to be the least explained system in the game and online, so I did my best to hopefully help you all understand it. It seems like the entire ecosystem of the map functions off this push and pull faction war system that all starts with the control points. Pretty easy to let it all be window dressing but once you figure it all out, it adds just alittle more flavor to the games world. Thanks for watching and reading! -Deadite

      question: what is the difference between a control point being over and under 50%, do stop sending out patrols if below 50% or do they just send out more patrols if over 50%?

    • @mrbalazs1995
      @mrbalazs1995 5 лет назад

      After 20 hours in the game, i can confirm: You have to call help via flare. it is not optional. However, it is your choice, if you call them before or after you cleared the outpost.

    I wish we could upgrade Control Points. More defense, more NPCs (that can gather resources and decrease the rate they're consumed), add special NPCs that give you special bounties, add craft/recab. stations, stash, hire stronger NPCs that can take on invaders. And add more significant perks to keeping these CPs. More xp in the area you control, better loot, more loot,... A lot of potential here

      rather than keeping them alive, farming them each time with increased alert levels keeps you occupied in the game. otherwise i am already 450+ item level ans bored already. :((

      Same. I was bored so I took over all the control point but one. Made the last one to alert level 3 and higher. I had multiple NPC trying to takeover the last control point but kept failing. At one point, I had multiple groups of NPCs invading that control point in a tiny war. I am probably gonna keep doing this and keep looting lv3 control points lol.

    Additionally, once you reach the end game where the "Black Tusk" faction get introduced. ALL control points will be occupied by this new faction and the alertness mechanic gets added in. All control points will have an alert value between 1 and 4 associated with them. The higher this value, the harder the control point becomes, but the greater the rewards for recapturing it get. Alert 1 is equivalent to Normal difficulty, 2 is equivalent to Hard, 3 is equivalent to Challenging and 4 is equivalent to Heroic, which makes Alert 4 CPs the hardest content in the game as things stand. And in the end-game "Black Tusk" will every so often attempt a counterattack on a neighboring CP (This can be stopped by pushing them back so they lose control of all the CPs) and as a result you will need to go over there to help the friendly bot characters to defend. If the CPs resource stocks are in the red when a counterattack begins, there will be visibly less friendlies to help you out since they were sent out to retrieve supplies.

    one thing I think you missed - When the control point has "enough" resources - they will send out (better armed?) patrols that may assist you (better?). You'll often find these fighting Veteran bosses that often drop yellows

    • @suprtroopr1028
      @suprtroopr1028 5 лет назад +4

      Yeah, it's something like that. It seems like the patrols "level up" in general, but i'm not entirely sure if that's just the settlement system or projects as well. Seeing settlements go from ratty clothed militia with handguns to clean, well armed cards that seem to both deal and take a fair sum of abuse really makes it feel like you're making a difference.

    • @fabulous55641
      @fabulous55641 5 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I started with a second agent and noticed that most friendly NPCs in the open world at the beginning mostly wield pistols and have no armor, later on the get Shotguns, SMGs, LMGs, etc. with actual body armor and even later also weapon attachments and they throw grenades as well.
      It's overall not that important, but I really like this sort of progression. The NPCs really assist you in gunfights, proving their value.

    The control point system evolves when you hit world tier 1. The civilian militia begins sending attack squads to take attempt to take (They will not always succeed) enemy control points, and the enemy factions begin sending their own attack squads to take control points from each other and from you. Then in world tier 4 it evolves again to make it so that completing activities near a control point raises that control point's alert level which increases the difficulty of capturing the control point, but more difficult enemies means a higher chance at quality loot.

    Great video. Also, if you restock control point beuond 50 points on each need, you will see loot better as it is gonna be orange and highlighted in distance for the next 10 mins. You also see it through walls and enemies as well. Need to gain some perk for that though. After your time runs out, simlly travel to one of the control points and donate more. If those are all over 50 points, just give them 1x water or 1x food and you just gained further 10 mins of easier scavenging.

    One MAJOR thing is when you get to Tier 4 you unlock something else with the Control points. You can now raise the "alert" level from 1-4. You can raise the level by doing the propaganda speakers, saving hostages and taking out enemy resource convoys. After raising a level it becomes more difficult as well but when you get the control to lvl 3 and you complete it you are rewarded with a new mod, weapon or gear blueprint! If anyone needs more info about the Control points let me know

    it's cool when you have check points fully stocked and you just have to talk to the leader to get the bonus on loot and enemy detection. I didn't notice it worked this way to start with though, so after you stock them up fully, they normally manage to get themselves stocked and you'll just auto get the buffs. I think this is how it works anyway. you may have manually re-supply eventually.
    PS: you have to unlock the buffs from the perk tree, well worth it though.

    The only thing missing is a discussion of control point levels (how and when to increase them and what benefits they give) and whether or not enemy factions can retake them.

      Billy Fearless yeah this definitely makes the world feel alive with your supply drops effecting the factions efficacy and overall growth and influence. Pretty neat

    You should have waited to make this video until you beat the first rounds of the main campaign so that way you could alert people that if they do take the control points that after they beat the first main campaign then after they will be introduced to the "world tiers" and the introduction of "attacking forces" and most or all control points that you obtained will be lost, and that's when enemy factions "attacking forces" start to invade your control points randomly, more so when you take over 1 control point then multiple enemy attacks will start and aim for random control points you have earned, and you need to stop the attack force or you will lose the control point, vise versa if your control point are now fully stocked now your control points will actually send thier own "attacking force" to try and take over other enemy control points for you, not only that if a point is fully stocked up they will also guard the point a lot more efficiently. Not stocking the point, will actually have the point actually send out a group of civilians to go scavenge for the missing supplys, but letting them do this leaves the point more weaker to defend against a attacking force.

      Just hit World Tier 1 and discovered that things change radically. Problem is it's not really explained very well but your description has helped clear things up :)

    • @yoshumakato407
      @yoshumakato407 5 лет назад

      @@dazecm your welcome my dude, I knew something was odd when things were way to easy with the control points then when you beat the 3 main strong points that's when the real challenge begun and when you beat the strongholds again you will go up in world's tiers but with that means harder enemies and much more smarter they become and when you enter tier one DO NOT GO TO DARK ZONE you will be out matched but the AIs and Many Rogue Agents grind out in the PVE area first, also unlike division 1 like I said world tiers and stronger gear will be unlocked based on the strongholds you beat. So if you think you can grind out in the dark zone you will be wasting your time

    After the Black Tusk invade these all really only used for one thing crafting and gear. After black tusk invades they start retaking all the Control Points and you really openly need them for the crafting supplies, their alert level also goes up by doing hostage situations and things like that around the point (alert level means harder but better gear) and crafting to get better gear.

    Nice... a fellow shield 2 user.
    I started off as a sniper, but I'm still levelling to 30, so trying all the different stuff. My current set up is shield 2 with a shotgun and an automatic (either an AR or SMG, depending on gear set up) and then the offensive drone. I find healing gadgets are redundant if you have good armour and have your medipacks levelled up so you have 5 or 6 and they refill in safe zones. I used the chem launcher a lot at first, but I much prefer to either just take 2 offensive gadgets, or a shield and 1 offensive or 1 offensive and the revive hive if I feel I may get killed.
    I've only died a couple of times so far, but those times I either had NPC's to revive me, or I had to respawn at safehouse. I reckon when I get into harder content especially (when playing solo) the revive hive will be invaluable when first feeling out an encounter. you can always switch it back out if you don't think you're gonna need it.
    I really wish we could have 3 skills, only you could only take say 2 offensive and 1 healer, or 2 heal or a heal and a revive and 1 offensive or something. basically so you can't stack 3 of the same kind. I even reckon some kind of gadget spec would be awesome that gives you a special gadget instead of weapon. Like a drone that serves multiple purposed (can heal, attack, revive etc, depending how you set it up) I'd play that spec for sure.

    I thought that giving supplies in conjunction with the perk would make loot show up on the mini map like it used to in Division 1. I don't like that the only way to find loot now is to actually have eyes on it. Has anyone found a faster way?

    • @zoe_gamer_girl
      @zoe_gamer_girl 5 лет назад

      @8trigrammer They do not show up on mini map. They just glow extra bright and you can see hints of them behind walls. I recommend, to maximize visuals, is to do the 10 minute buff at night.
