@RogueGold This was very informative and I thank you for the time you put in to put this together. I will admit that the whole tinkering system has me very confused, is there any way that you can make a video that gives a more in depth explanation of recalibration, tinkering and expertise segments of the game?
@major732 Hey there! To be fully honest, I'm not sure how much differently I could explain/describe those systems beyond what I showed in this video. Are there any particular aspects of it that you're confused about, I could try and clarify here?
As a returning player i dont even remember when i reached endgame, all i can remember are the memories of my deceased best friend with who i played td1 grinding for the house, and he is the reason i am coming back and watching this clip, as for it, it helped me understand the game much more easier than it would ve been for me to learn it by myself. awesome video. you just helped me not give up on the game i used to love playing with a loved one.
I’ve been an on and off solo player since all my friends left me for other games. When no other games sound good Division is always there. Slowly maxing my builds I’ve been working on for 4 years. Rouge gold has always been there to help me catch up and stay up to date with the game and changes. Thanks for being as steady as the sun agent.
I’m the type of gamer who loves consuming RUclips content to direct/understand/enhance my gaming experience. 100’s of hours of videos from the days of BF3 til now. That is all to say, I’ve seen the full spectrum of content quality. Your channel having only 88k subscribers is criminal! Your clear and organized narration makes this channel a gem. You gave a new subscriber here, but I hope you crest the 100k mark with the upcoming DLC. Thank you for your efforts, and thank you for convincing me to redownload this game. Cheers!
I just got back to this game after years. I stopped after finishing Warlords. At the time build crafting and the endgame of this title scared the shit out of me. But your channel, which I just recently discovered has gotten me back into the game and really stuck with it. I started a new agent to get use to the game again, then after watching your full story recap and this new player guide and soon to watch the build video, I boosted that character and now have unlocked a new level of power I never knew about during my first play through. I am super busy and knowing I can do a lot of the content in the game and how, even with my short time to play is really awsome. Also, your voice is like butter man. Literally keeps me engaged and paying attention the entire time. Thanks for this amazing and helpful content!
Thank you mate , i am a returning player who didn’t touch the game for almost 4 years . and this video and your other videos helps me a TON to remember and keep up to date with all the huge changes that was introduced to the game . I really appreciate your content quality 👏🏻
As someone who just restarted and is now continuing after lvl 40, here are some things i learned. 1) For specializations there is 45pt cap for increasing weapon damage which equals 3 classes. So choose carefully which weapon class you want upgrade. 2) If you're not the best, create a build using drone and reinforcing heal with at least 3 skill tier. This will help you with dealing constant damage and heal with the tough fights. 3) Increase threat level to 4 for control points. You will increase the difficulty for overtaking the point, but you will get some great rewards if you succeed.
That’s what I did cause this game was to crazy 😂🤦🏽♂️ I got a little scared when I was walking in a dark room thank god I had that scanner to see if there was any enemies in the area
I just redownloaded the division 2 after picking it up at launch and only playing a few hours. The overhauls and updates are incredibly noticeable and I’m super into it now. Thank you for the guide! I’m looking forward to the next expansion as well!
this is honestly the one and only guide i needed to watch to help me get back to scratch with everything that is going on in this game, i am a returning player but have done the story and am now lvl 40 and was so stuck on what to do next but this guide has helped me out loads thank you so much, it also helps that your voice is basically perfect for explaining stuff not too loud and arrogant so i can proper concentrate on what your saying and actually understand everything you say.
My best advice is to level up to 40 solo (or boost to 30 via Warlords of NY) to learn the game and the mechanics. Then join a clan. There are so many players out there willing to help guide and walk through end game content so you don’t feel overwhelmed (which is exactly how I felt)
I played the first game back in 2016 on a ps4 slim... I was 11 back then and I still remember the brainrot voice lobbies with 30~40 year olds that were coming back from work only to grind missions with me in hopes of getting that one god piece to complete our loadouts. I got TD2 two days ago and I'm already level 20 with no specific target of what I want from the endgame in mind. This video provided a lot of clarity on what I should pursue ! Thx for the effort .
Honestly? Thank you so much for taking all the time in making this guide: as someone coming back into this for a two-year absence, it's amazing to know people still keep helping the new/returners! Kudos to you! ^^
Just recently came back, had a couple years break from game, so i'm a returner, and a beginner, i feel like. Watched your video in its entirety. Whoa, what an information overload, in a really good way. Learned a lot about those "little things" that are just hiding among all the features and mechanics this game has, and as a new player it's a bit confusing and too easy to overlook and completely miss out on important stuff like filling out the library, for example. Got to 40 a little while ago, starting the endgame grind, your video gave a good idea how to proceed. Looking forward to all of it! Thanks, much appreciated! Easy like 'n sub.
As a new player, with a watch level 180, what absolutely perplexes me is figuring what is good armor to use. There is so much armor I really don't know what is good.
A lot of it comes down to simply figuring out what kinds of builds, loadouts, and playstyle you want to pursue. If you were to keep every possible "viable" item and build type, you'd run out of space. So narrowing down what you *want* to have/use it key. This video might help you jumpstart some build ideas! 👉 ruclips.net/video/z3YH2OamSfs/видео.htmlsi=oyMTDjidk62PFcOp
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO OMG. beat the main campaign and warlords forever ago but still be wanting to go back but have no idea what to do where to start. this video was a godsend.
Thank you, sir, first video of yours I’ve watched and having had my brain swelled with information, I must say this is a brilliantly constructed video. Quality content creator right here. Salutations!
As someone who played thousands of hours of Division 1, then switched to Destiny 2 (after having only played vanilla Division 2), seeing all the QoL features that Division 2 offers makes me want to come back. Thank you for this guide.
I love this game so much, had some of my best gaming years ever on this. Loves the raids even if they weren't hugely popular, ran dark hours hundreds of times. Making the jump from xbox to PC over christmas with a couple of buddies and this video is the perfect refresher ty!
As a person who just downloaded and started this game , this guide is overwhelming. This is a fantastic guide, but it sure makes it sound like this is the most complicated game ever made.
I started it a month ago. Just hit level 30 myself. The game will guide you. Just keep grinding until you hit level 30, after that you start unlocking extra stuff. Do all the missions, side stuff etc. Keep equipping the best gear as you go. Soak it all up, it's a hell of a ride....
It's world of warcraft but for playstation. If you ever played that, you'd understand. I just started playing again after years off since release and I realize now that I didn't know squat backthen. I thought I was just playing playing a shooter with a little extra but I was wrong 😂
Love how endless this game feels. Once you hit level 30 the game feels like it’s brand new again and I’m excited for what 40 will bring. I still have so much more to learn and that makes me super happy. Awesome guide man, it feels like those old school guides from back in the day.

Thans for making such an awesome video. I just started playing this a few days ago so this was informative. I do have over 450 hours on Division 1, so some things in the game are very familiar.
Compact and very useful. Just started on this game last year so still a lot of the mechanics i do not understand or have struggle navigating to. The quick tip on updating your library is new to me. Thank you very much, Agent.
i played this when i had it on my ps4 but only reached level 15 before my ps4 gave in and died but recently switched to pc and picked this game for 15 bucks the ultimate edition at that and im having a blast im almost back to level 15 and this is by far the best guide ive seen doing gods work
As far as what game content to concentrate on other than the necessary content to advance, my suggestion is complete public executions (which are also the most efficient way to gain XP) and rescue operations (green hand cuffs icon) which lead to bounties which lead to keys to faction lockboxes. Faction lock boxes have a higher guarantee than open world gear/weapon crates of getting high end gear plus a possibility of exotics. Need help with more difficult level bounties, join a clan or matchmake. Playing with other agents exposes you to varied playing styles and equipment choices. Try all the different types of weapons. Do NOT get overly concerned with your agent going down. Until you get to the end game, you're basically playing a super extended self tutorial for the end game. Dying is part of the game. Experiment with the different playing styles. Doing all this will help you once you get to the point where builds come into play.
Dude I was grinding summit last night for the Ninja bike backpack and not only did I get it on the 65th floor but I also got my first capacitor! Was awesome.
Just to note, new players may have a better experience with the new season than current players; out sheer bloody mindedness I thought I would try a new character to see if the original seasonal character model was still present (yes I'm weird). I hit seasonal journey IV around level 30, I'm about to do Roosevelt Island followed by the Capitol (the last element of III and one of the elements in IV). Most of the seasonal journey is a playlist for things you would do if you were fast tracking through the main story (I've done hardly any side quests). I now have global modifiers but, interestingly, no hostile modifiers yet. I suspect they kick in at level 40. This means I will probably only experience the hostile modifiers (with this character) when I already have the first of the active modifiers. Also, the new gear sets (and only those) have been dropping regularly. Just food for thought.
I logged into my Lv 30 character after a long pause and I am just so overwhelmed and really debating if I should just forget about the game for good. Feels like going through Phd just to catch up.
@@DyslexicBatnam I understand, I had a similar issue with Destiny 2 (although with the added joy of Bugie vaulting content I had paid for). All I can say is that a fresh character is a good way of learning the new mechanics at a more measured pace (avoiding overload). If you stick to mainly the main missions you can rapidly get to level 30 whilst at the same time progressing through the seasonal journey. Depending on how long since you last played the there may have been major changes to game mechanics. Massive have been steadily adding game modes, gear sets and talents over the seasons.
I re downloaded div2 after not playing for over 4 years (I rage quit after the Devs nuked all the skill builds lol) and trying to to figure stuff out is annoying as hell.. I don't know if any of my old builds/gear are ok or if I should delete them or not.. I am worried about deleting stuff just in case and unsure what to farm and replace to re make the builds or if they are even worth rebuilding 😂 this vid has helped me realise the mess I have is deeper than I thought but iam glad as it was needed for me to try get back in
I haven’t played in years now since before warlords of New York came out and even then I had taken a break for about a year before that and I just been seeing your videos constantly come up on my FYP on here so I guess it’s time to head back in
You should have some red "Invaded" missions to take on, that will close out the main campaign storyline, and you can then continue leveling towards 40!
Just got the ultimate edition because it was discounted to 15$ and this was pretty helpful. I started in the New York stuff because I used the level boost unknowingly thinking it was something else.
man, i so wish D2 would let us switch difficulty on story missions on the first playthrough like D1 did. this way every mission on every playthrough was tough and engaging as you were able to switch to hard mode instantly. palying through D2 on 'story' difficulty is just plain boring to me on a 2nd playthrough :(
i is watching this 2 months after release, despite beating all the story missions repeatedly with multiple characters because I need to improve my stats... I SUCK in the Dark Zone, and have trouble in some of the late story content.
Thank you so much im mostly a solo player and i feel divison 2 is much more solo friendly the the first one plus the gunplay feels better to me anyway thank you for the video
I've played division in the past and then juggled it with Destiny. Destiny won my attention for the best part of the past 10 years, but now that Destiny is pretty much dying, I'm looking to hop back into The Division. Thanks for this video.
Also, can I say, after completing all classified assignments back to back a couple days ago, they are buggier than normal with a lot of in game mechanics, like gear set stuff not working properly, and for some weird reason the latency in these missions are bad.
Thank you, and welcome back! The jacket is the "Agent Yeong-Ja jacket," unfortunately it was part of the Y6S1 Season Pass and is currently unobtainable
There's a steam sale ultimate edition for 15 bucks :) I'm downloading now and plan on checking out the other videos you've recommended after this one tysm
which skills are worth upgrading? cheesed expertise in kenly, but wow are skills expensive, 2k printer filaments per skill to 10. Is oxidizer worth it? Also last chance at x5 xp and easy group to cheese xp in kenly next week too And ouch, having come back after having done just Faye's Manhunt, doing Keener's warhound mission 12 more times even on easy isnt going to be fun
I only view "worth" in terms of Expertise in the context of what content you plan to be doing. Expertise isn't required to be competitive for the vast majority of Endgame content. And even in content where it is useful- that's really all it is. It'll give you a greater edge, but I wouldn't view Expertise upgrades as mandatory to do well in gameplay. For Skills specifically, just be sure to check what the actual Expertise upgrade will give you. Ones that give flat damage increases, typically worth it, yes. Others give less enticing bonuses like range, which I'd hesitate to say is really worth it given the cost investment
Thanks! If you have room, I would recommend keeping those items in your Stash, until you're a high enough level to equip/use them. It'll be nice to have them ready to go once you reach the Endgame 👍
Hi RogueGold. I'm a 36 year old guy who just enjoys playing to get some cool tanky gear with an lmg. I love the little flying drone, and being more supportive. How do I find the gear I want if I'm looking to be a tanky support?
Hey! I definitely recommend the "Heartbreaker" Gear Set. It focuses on buffing up LMG damage, while also giving you bonus armor. I recommend going to the Countdown Game Mode, selecting Heartbreaker as your targeted loot (among the green icons), and good luck!
I'd say it's all about what you need in the moment. Expertise overall is a marathon- it's going to take you a long time to level everything up. If you're in need of credits or materials in the short-term for build-making, then I would prioritize selling/deconstructing 👍
Mostly up to you! If you're familiar with the story/systems, then boosting might be nice. But if you want a refresher for everything, from scratch can be fun too
@RogueGold I did a fresh start and was amazed by the refresher of events and story/lore. Took me 3 days to hit level 30. I can't get enough of this game
Depends on why you left! If you still enjoy the game, then sure there's more stuff to do now that you'll hopefully enjoy. And a new DLC is arriving soon 👍
Wanna return to this game but i last played in 2020 :D I just dont know what should I do... Start new journey or play my already existing character (I have played about 150 hours)
No reason not to continue on your existing character, I think! Plenty of systems to help you catch up and earn relevant rewards. I recommend focusing on Projects (51:16), Priority Objectives (53:02), and Endgame content/modes to get you geared (54:17)
@@RogueGold I started a new character because I wanted to replay the story from the beginning and learn the basics from the start :) But your video is absolutely awesome and I came back to this game because of it, thank you :)
I came back to the game after years and started a new character. My question that I have come across is why I keep getting lvl 40 items while I play? Do I Keep all these level 40 items in storage? I'm got 6 pieces before I was even level 5
Hey, welcome back! That's a bug that the latest Season's items are dropping prior to Level 40. It can't hurt to throw them in your stash in case they have good stat rolls later, or you want to use them once you hit the Endgame 👍
Question about tinkering. So if I was to swap an attribute with a better one on a chest piece can I still optimize the other attributes or core attributes that I didn’t extract?

Great video I played D1 all the time gonna get back too it now 🙏🏾 thanks….
i played this when i had it on my ps4 but only reached level 15 before my ps4 gave in and died but recently switched to pc and picked this game for 15 bucks the ultimate edition at that and im having a blast im almost back to level 15 and this is by far the best guide ive seen doing gods work
Very happy that it helped out- enjoy! 🙌
Great advice, thank you for writing this up! 🙌
This is perfect Im switching from console to pc and its been a while so this is really helpful
Glad I watched! I did learn more about the game even though I had been playing almost a year! 😂Thanks RougeGold !

Dude I was grinding summit last night for the Ninja bike backpack and not only did I get it on the 65th floor but I also got my first capacitor! Was awesome.
Nice!! The Capacitor is a great one, enjoy 👊
Thank you i needed this
👊👊
I’m level 30 just hopped back in after completing all content at launch. Had no clue how everything worked lol. Need some people to play with on ps5
Hey what’s your psn. Got it coming from Amazon tomorrow
I re downloaded div2 after not playing for over 4 years (I rage quit after the Devs nuked all the skill builds lol) and trying to to figure stuff out is annoying as hell.. I don't know if any of my old builds/gear are ok or if I should delete them or not.. I am worried about deleting stuff just in case and unsure what to farm and replace to re make the builds or if they are even worth rebuilding 😂 this vid has helped me realise the mess I have is deeper than I thought but iam glad as it was needed for me to try get back in
I haven’t played in years now since before warlords of New York came out and even then I had taken a break for about a year before that and I just been seeing your videos constantly come up on my FYP on here so I guess it’s time to head back in
Haha, I guess it was fate! Welcome back 🙌
Just started playing a week or so ago, great video! Keep up the good work =)
🙌 Welcome! And thank you!
best guide content ! Appreciate your work :3
🙏 Thanks so much!
Holy moly, thank you for something like this, really helps understanding what the heck is going on after a few years
👊 Happy to help!
Lmao perfect timing just re-download thanks man always an amazing help
👊 Welcome back!
Great guide. Even after thousand hours in, its a very good refreshing info.
🙏 Happy to hear it, thank you!
I wish I could play division 2 for the first time again one of my favorite games
Thanks! I finished the "base" game years ago but not sure where to continue. It's right when the black tusk takes over everything
You should have some red "Invaded" missions to take on, that will close out the main campaign storyline, and you can then continue leveling towards 40!
Thanks!
Just got the ultimate edition because it was discounted to 15$ and this was pretty helpful. I started in the New York stuff because I used the level boost unknowingly thinking it was something else.
Welcome to TD2! There's no problem with starting in NYC- and honestly I should have mentioned that option in the video.
man, i so wish D2 would let us switch difficulty on story missions on the first playthrough like D1 did. this way every mission on every playthrough was tough and engaging as you were able to switch to hard mode instantly. palying through D2 on 'story' difficulty is just plain boring to me on a 2nd playthrough :(
Or even the first playthrough, I don't feel any challenge :/
The ultimate edition is on sale for 15 bucks on steam so I'm gonna grab it and have fun.
Same !
@GOMD77 👊 Welcome to The Division!
bro how do you know that this is the video i needed LMFAO
thank you !
👊👊
This is exactly the video i needed ! thank you
👊👊
Purchased on sale for the legion go. This is very handy, thanks🍻
11:55 Campaign sequence to follow for new gamers. Very imp.
Just got the game, I’m glad I found this, thx
🙌 Welcome!
i is watching this 2 months after release, despite beating all the story missions repeatedly with multiple characters because I need to improve my stats... I SUCK in the Dark Zone, and have trouble in some of the late story content.
Thank you so much im mostly a solo player and i feel divison 2 is much more solo friendly the the first one plus the gunplay feels better to me anyway thank you for the video
👊 Thanks for watching!
Thank you from the button of my heart
23:00
Wow, I had no idea I could actually just reset the control points ..
i played at launch up until the raid. but its 14$ on steam for the dlc included. free lvl 30 boost. needed this vid thanks!!!
bro perfect timing the game just went on sale
49:20 Modifiers are required for season pass.
Haven’t played since division 1 Version 1.6… bring back the OG builds (striker,etc..)
thx I watch all the video, great
That was awesome RG, that takes patience I'm sure :) I'm still going over one thing though, where did you pull the word "tangentially" from? LOL
Somewhere in the ether 😄
Just purchased this seems complicated I'm still trying to find the exit from the white house lol
Perfect timing, just reinstalled 🥳
🙌 Welcome back!
I've played division in the past and then juggled it with Destiny. Destiny won my attention for the best part of the past 10 years, but now that Destiny is pretty much dying, I'm looking to hop back into The Division. Thanks for this video.
🤝 Happy to have you!
Great guide!
👊 Thank you!
got a sub dude thank you!
🙏 Much appreciated!
Also, can I say, after completing all classified assignments back to back a couple days ago, they are buggier than normal with a lot of in game mechanics, like gear set stuff not working properly, and for some weird reason the latency in these missions are bad.
Great video brother just reinstalled the game, do to mind telling me what jacket your character is wearing at 0:30 ? Can't seem to find it in game...
Thank you, and welcome back! The jacket is the "Agent Yeong-Ja jacket," unfortunately it was part of the Y6S1 Season Pass and is currently unobtainable
@RogueGold Ah unfortunate, looks sick, reminds me of some of the old Division 1 cosmetics, thanks anyway.
There's a steam sale ultimate edition for 15 bucks :) I'm downloading now and plan on checking out the other videos you've recommended after this one tysm
👊 Welcome to The Division!
Thank you!
which skills are worth upgrading? cheesed expertise in kenly, but wow are skills expensive, 2k printer filaments per skill to 10. Is oxidizer worth it?
Also last chance at x5 xp and easy group to cheese xp in kenly next week too
And ouch, having come back after having done just Faye's Manhunt, doing Keener's warhound mission 12 more times even on easy isnt going to be fun
Great video, question.. is there any reason to hold onto gear set or exotic drops if you're only level 6?
Thanks! If you have room, I would recommend keeping those items in your Stash, until you're a high enough level to equip/use them. It'll be nice to have them ready to go once you reach the Endgame 👍
@RogueGold thank you, I appreciate it.
I recommend going to the Countdown Game Mode, selecting Heartbreaker as your targeted loot (among the green icons), and good luck!
thank you very much
👍👍
Clan Vendor has Yaahl Gear Holsters - Go Buy ALL of Them NOW
Question about expertise.
Should I always donate all junk until max expertise, or should I sell & dismantle junk also?
I'd say it's all about what you need in the moment. Expertise overall is a marathon- it's going to take you a long time to level everything up. If you're in need of credits or materials in the short-term for build-making, then I would prioritize selling/deconstructing 👍
Do a good mix of sell/deconstruct. Played a lot during launch and honestly once you hit around 200,000 in money your good for a long while
how convenient of this video, i just randomly installed the game again after a few years !
🙌 Welcome back!
Thank you .

As a returning player. Do I start completely fresh or automatically boost my new agent up?
Mostly up to you! If you're familiar with the story/systems, then boosting might be nice. But if you want a refresher for everything, from scratch can be fun too
@RogueGold I did a fresh start and was amazed by the refresher of events and story/lore. Took me 3 days to hit level 30. I can't get enough of this game
This reminds me of ghost recon wildlands and breakpoint. Are the controls similar?
Fairly similar, yeah!
How to level up fast? Resource convoys give only a little xp.
Public Executions in the Open World award the highest XP yields, I believe
I haven’t played in about 1 1/2 year, should I start playing again?
Depends on why you left! If you still enjoy the game, then sure there's more stuff to do now that you'll hopefully enjoy. And a new DLC is arriving soon 👍
how to make reversal modifier work is to push up on d-pad
i literally reinstalled the game yesterday and this pops up
👊 Welcome back!
What platform yall playing on? I'm playing the PS4 version on the PS5, barely seeing any player around
The vast majority of players are at the Level 40 endgame, you likely won't see too many people before then
@RogueGold ooh i see, is the endgame zone a specific zone or just the 40lvl zones across the map?
@GaBBsCOJO Level 40 challenges and enemies across the map 👍
Haven't played in years since the new York dlc no clue what to do lol 😅
Question about tinkering. So if I was to swap an attribute with a better one on a chest piece can I still optimize the other attributes or core attributes that I didn’t extract?
Yep! Recal and Optimization don't impact/limit one another
