Headlamps in the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class: MULTIBEAM LED

- In the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class the optional high-resolution MULTIBEAM LED headlamps automatically illuminate the road with a hitherto unsurpassed, precision-controlled distribution of exceptionally bright light - without dazzling other road users. That's because this grid allows the light distribution of the left and right headlamps, each with 84 individually controlled high-performance LEDs, to be controlled separately and adapted to the changing situation on the road quickly and dynamically. All functions of the Intelligent Light System in low-beam and high-beam mode can furthermore be depicted purely digitally and without mechanical actuators for the first time, including, as a world first, a purely electronically implemented active light function.

Blatant 3rd Eye symbolism
Your company dont make only cars , your guys, make dreams. The best or nothing.
That’s us - dream makers! 😄❤️
@@MercedesBenz someday in future, I wont drive one your beautiful cars.
Just WOW. Non Words only emotions
when will Merc design a headlight that shoots lasers at the idiots who drive in regular traffic with high-beam lights
or with xenon bulbs at halogen headlights
Lol and I thought this problem was only in my country...
Lol
Yeahhhh.... Only then I would buy a Merc 👍👍
PREACH!!!!
The air conditioner predicts farts and adjusts airflow around the passengers.
:) critics at crazy levels
predicts or detects?
lol
That's only available on the S-CLass
@@TheRohnjackson we have the technology...

Can’t wait for other manufacturers to put this in their vehicles in a couple years for a fraction of the cost!! Thanks for doing the heavy lifting Mercedes
And a fraction of the quality 😊👍
Half Rockstar Not really but ok 👍, whatever you think...
😊
@@halfrockstar8373oh god you think mercedes is quality? im kinda putting u in the crowd that thinks bmw is quality too im assuming
@@maxlu2456 I don't blame you, there were times that mercs were just innovative manufacturer with low quality. I owned W221 and it was terrible experience but in 2016 I traded it for W222, it was the best decision I've ever had.
@@maxlu2456 and bmers sucks
I was most impressed with adverse weather mode, as driving in the rain is probably most uncomfortable thing ever, making it safer for everyone is the way to go!
@@Brian-jv8iy No, no they didn't, not even close to this.
Turn following headlamps - yep, Citroen had those in the 60s.
no, heavy fog is worse!! especially when you are on a road you are not familiar with
@@manoz6194 Rain is annoying, but fog is downright deadly.
I have these on my W213 E63 AMG and they are incredible at night. I don’t worry about glare to oncoming traffic as the headlamps take care of the adjustments.
I wonder how much 1 headlamp costs
+Daniel Udovenko like bmw e90
***** okay mister.
well 2 headlight replacements on a cla is like 2500 so a lot
if you're buying an e-class, i'm sure thats one of your last worries. And it's probably not offered in anything but the premium models anyways
my biggest curiosity was not how much does a fraction of the car cost, i should have stated my question a bit differently. With such a huge technological advance (such as we have been seeing) I wonder what it's actual true value is. what's it actually cost for the headlamp to be created? this isn't your average typical headlamp.
Another reason why I want a Mercedes Benz in the future!
Just for these headlights?
cmon, they are more useless than "nice to have", because at all the "light systems" of Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi are often to slow to "work" good.
And it's not working good in the city.
To many cars, your lights would be off for all of them xD
So they are just on.
Where is the sense? xD
And i say it to every car that have "Headlight Innovation", often it works to slow and bad.
Maybe in 5-10 years all cars have that kind of lights, but way faster and more efficient :D
Ray Tastic Don't know about u, but I own an new MB with these optional Multibeam leds, and I must say, they're flawless. Work like a charm, in any weather condition. And btw, they work like normal headlights in the city, they only dim the leds if you have high-beams on.
This is an excellent video. Slowly paced and carefully considered. Much more compelling than watching the car zoom by to electronic music for three minutes.
Same technology is used in Volvo Polestar2. Amazing feature. That 84 led chip is so well working!
I Love you Mercedes
Thank you for being so passionate about what you do best.
Marvelously well made video.
I really like the headlamps that MB makes. By far the best.
***** yeah they really stepped up with the laser lights.
From the first minute, technology like this should be on every car regardless of make and model. This is a safety necessity. Its good to have on your car, but also very necessary when you are dealing with oncoming traffic.
Thank you Mercedes ♥️ I hope every car has this, sick of being dazzled oncoming traffic especially on non lit roads, this technology will save life’s and reduce accidents. ✌️ beautifully shown on this video what an incredible technology!
Это лучшие фары в мире, кайфую каждый раз, когда еду ночью.
These lights, low and high are the most amazing part of our car. The highs literally "fold" out over the road. A necessity on winding country roads.
I have these in my e400 c but it doesn’t seem to be enabled here in the US. It’s only in high beam when no one is around, but drops to low beam when a car comes instead of selectively deactivated only some LEDs like in the video.
Wow.
Crazy idea of crazy german technology....
I Respect!
I have an e class and these headlights are amazing
We're glad you think so too! 🙂
Fully agree. I do alot if night driving (in Germany); German roads are very poorly lit at night and especially when it's raining white lines disappear. These lights reduce driver fatigue massively. In the UK with cats eyes etc it really turns night into day. The absolute best though is the transition to high beam from dipped, it's like someone opening curtains and then on transitioning back they draw closed again. Just brilliant!👍👍 So worth the money.
M & M and the best thing is it turns off some lights so it doesn’t reflect into ur eyes and mimics day light so it doesn’t strain ur eyes
Masterpiece
Amazing headlights technology! Can't wait to see it in real life demo. I am pretty sure Mercedes had it patented it. It would really help on high performance cars. I wonder if Porsche has come up with something similar.
Wow Mercedes Benz......... Thanks to introduce such technology........ hope u will prove more betterment in future!!
That anti glare feature when approaching other cars is genius wow
Why would some idiot give it a thumbs down? Amazing tech!
Всем владельцам Mercedes здоровья и благополучия ! 👍😎 Были W201,W140, теперь W124.
This is insane! Great job Mercedes! Hope every car has this in a few years! I'm so sick of being blinded by every other oncoming car at night!
Thanks, we're happy you like the headlamps! 😊 We'd also love to see them in more and more cars.
Extremely high tech stuff!
These headlamps will certainly be smarter than some of your drivers. Finally the car will lower the beems on oncoming vehicles as the drivers have been too 🤬🤬🤬 to give a damn. Great work Merc keep it up.
Will the headlights turning yellow or peel after some years like most cars?
I gonna tune My old e60 into 835hp (My friend’s old c220 got tunned to 950hp,i kinda like it),did that too dangerous?
Seriously impressive. Nice. Want such ones.
thank you mercedes-benz
Wow forget the lights the presentation is simply amazing
dont get me wrong but THIS is the type of technology level of headlights i was looking for. audi and opel matrix are amazing. but this is finally a next level

any way to install this on my C238? I dont think mine has this (just bought the car- very disappointed!)

Superb innovation. I loved it.
I wonder if Mercedes Benz could manufacture Headlight modules for each n every car 😅.
Technology so good I want for my car as well😁
I have exactly same headlights on my 2018 e class,I'm not sure if they're faulty, I can tell you they are very bad.
Hi, Rifet! We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the headlights on your E-Class. If you believe they might be faulty, it's advisable to reach out to your local Mercedes-Benz Dealership so that a certified technician can inspect them.
That's what I call innovation ;)
Very responsible and considerate invention.

I am amazed after watching this, Mercedes great job love you.😘❤
Thank you Aditya! ❤️

What a beauty!!!
yeah that's great but when it malfunctions and its no longer covered by the warranty what then?
youre gunna be able to afford it cuz you could buy a 60k+ car and kept it long enough for the warranty to expire so you should have some money saved up. Then you take it to the dealership, or a shop of your choice, and they replace it
pretty amazing
is this the standard feature or you have to buy the advanced light package to get it?
Normally the MULTIBEAM LED technology has to be chosen as an additional package. 😉
I have a doubt sir. How is the glare of incoming traffic reduced ?? If the vehicle coming opposite is not dimming their headlight, how will it be possible? And when we are dimming the area of the vehicle opposing us, glare doubles for us. Isn't it?.
We have taken this into consideration, we have focussed on brightness rather than glare and the brightness automatically adjusts to whether it is day (for brake lights and indicators) and night. You can read more about the MULTIBEAM LED lights here mb4.me/6z8G7U0T/ and here mb4.me/NTtcCfmi/. 😊
the best or nothing
Then buy a RR or Bentley. Merc is just a average luxury brand with a performance side-brand. Definitely not the best you can buy, but good stuff.
@@evolicious Yeah if you have money, but most of us dont have money for such a car
I just got the 2017 E-class with multibeam headlights. However, they don't seem to work, someone told me they are disabled for the us market can you confirm?
Hi, thanks for your comment. We would recommend you to contact Customer Services US via 888-454-9906 (Mon-Fri 9am-9pm EST). Our colleagues will be happy to have a look into this matter and will inform you accordingly. Kind regards, your Mercedes-Benz Social Media Team
Yes you are correct. All of the features other than the automatic high beam assist are disabled for the North American Market. You will only have the cornering feature and high/low beam in North America. Sorry to disappoint. This is to due with government lighting regulations.

Oh My God Really Top of the Top and We respect you so much because you are the best in the world but we need and wish Really best big Muscles on the sides of body and on the bonnet next generation soon

See but how fast can react? Can it react fast enough to dull the headlamps in the right place is so that those idiots that flash me their brights (thinking that I have mine on) won't blind me?
Reaction times are as quick as lightning, Dan, so don't you worry. 😉
