You're literally paying so that you can see more while not having to constantly adjust your headlights between high beam and low beam, how does this mean you're paying for the enjoyment of others? Think before typing.
@@anon_ninja that might be true for auto high beam, but with these matrix-type technology you actually see more of what's around the incoming car. I think they're a decent safety feature.
Mercedes and Audi solutions seem quite similar, with Mercedes having one large led matrix, vs Audi having 5 separate small matrices. Both enabling to control beam sections te be darkened, depending on the camera onward vehicle detection, or traffic signs.
When I first discovered my high beems we on all the time and didn't understand why I was never flashed to turn then off. It's really cool to see them in action when going in corners you can see the adaptive lights working. I was surprised from my 2014 BMW to 2016 the 2 year gap had noticeable upgrades.
It mostly depends on the generation. Usually BMWs have 7 year generations, but that timeline has been reduced recently. They can also make smaller improvements during that time, but a new generation usually means pretty much everything you see is new.
It's pretty much the same as in the animation. Seeing the matrix light of an Audi if there's a little bit of fog outside is just stunning. Works perfectly fine.
Audi seems to have the best system and also the most solidly foundational platform on which to design and enhance future versions. Beautiful, precise engineering and breathtaking design.
I just bought a new 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300 with the “LED Intelligent Lighting System”. It’s great to see how it works. At first, I didn’t know what it is or what it does. After seeing this, now I know. Thank you. 👍👏👌
My dear GlobeOnline, that road bend recognition also works with BMW as well and the glare effect from signs also works so the signs arent too bright... Few information you got there before making this video... Practically, all three systems give the same exact result: be able to see at full night with fully adaptive headlights which dont make the oncoming traffic go blind...
I had the unique opportunity of having a Benz driving toward me at night and just behind him a bmw and I have to say neither of them blinded me unlike the standard xenon lights fitted the cheaper run of the mil cars there after so hats off to both of you ! How far they have come ! Ps I drive a bmw but I think both are awesome !!! Not seen the Audi ones but I'm sure there good too.
@@PaulusdeKenezy yeah audi with laser matrix is the best headlight made in production car. Bmw have laser but not matrix like audi or Mercedes. So my top is Audi Mercedes and BMW
I agree car tech should be as automated as it can but this high beam tech is bull $hit. I am driving 400km a night and I get blinded constantly by these new "smart" cars. First of all we do not live in a world of straight roads. Even highways are curvy, and especially regular roads. This system (all of them) first have to detect a source of light from the other car and than they can react. On curvy roads that can be only 100m away. In real world it does not take half of a second to detect oncoming traffic. Sometimes it does not detect it at all, and driver just does not care, he did set his lights at AUTO and it is not his responsibility to do anything. So when I flash them, their system instantly recognizes me and turn their lights away. In this situation a human can not be replaced. Human can see high beams on mountain, tree, in the fog even before they see the car and hit low beams before blinding others. When technology can do that than this should be legal. Could sound like whining but for a night shift truck driver it can be veeery inconvenient.
Is it only me or these new cars have brighter and sharper headlights its annoying because you're not only left dazzled but you're left wondering was he on high beams or normal.
I drive with my high beams on all the time. Live dangerously, nigga. Yet when I go 120 on the highway I want people to see me from a far and know to stay right where they fucking are
Im going to be straight with you, these systems work more quickly than a human would on a curvey road. My Mazda has active high beams which are 10X less advanced than these and they worked flawlessly last time I went out on some curvy roads at night. Took 1 to 3 tenths of a second to turn off the high beams. A human would almost certainly take at least as long. And I think you are confusing your automated systems with non-automated systems. Firstly, you aren't going to be able to tell if it is an automated system being in oncoming traffic. Just because it's a cool or bright looking light does not mean it is one of these hyper-advanced lighting systems; these are very rare additions to very expensive cars. And secondly, the whole "when I flash them their system instantly recognizes me" proves to me you are wrong. An automatic system probably won't change its behavior based on a rapid flash of light. A clueless human, on the other hand, would see the flash and then realize they need to turn off their high-beams. Look, there are tons of idiots driving around with their high beams in your face, yes, but I am 9000000000% sure you got the "wrong guys" here. These systems work. Humans do not.
I am a Audi fan since I was 12..so in this case I used search more about Audi and I used to know that Audi is the first cars with daytime light and until now Audi is having the best..besides Audi's indicator light is the one to move or show the way they going to turn...exp in R8 V10 plus and RS7
