Thank you for this video. Finally someone who gets to the point and simply shows how this works rather than talking for 15 minutes about unrelated matters. Thank you again!
I have the exact same cover and had it installed by dealer ($1400) when I bought my 2019 supercrew and over time... i hate it. Having to lift it every time I close the tail gate is a PITA. Its also counter intuitive to fold as you have to pull down on the cable release while you pull up on the cover...another PITA. I have heard theyh made a design change so that you no longer have to lift to close tail gate. I found your post while searching for info on that update. Glad you like yours but as mentioned im sick of mine.
The Ford version is the Bak Flip HD not the G2, which is a heavy duty version of the G2. The HD supports more weight on top of the canopy. Bak Flip no longer offers the HD to the public.
@@Rick-yq8kj no I didn’t and water intrusion has not been an issue for me. However, to make sure you have realistic expectations I don’t mean that I have ZERO water that ever gets into the bed. It’s just such a small amount that it runs out the front drains of the bed or it runs to the back and out under the tailgate in between the raised parts of the bed where the bed has stamped ribs.
I had a soft flip on a 2019 ranger and never had any water come into the bed. I now have a 2023 Ranger with the ford hard fold and water leaks in so much I do not want to put my beg rug in. water drains down the rail in the rear, you can see the rail is open and water drips into the rear of the bed. The folds are always moist and drip water into the bed. The closing of the gate is also an issue with me as mentioned, my soft top was not a issue. hope this helps someone.
I guess the 6.5ft has 4 folding panels vs 3 on the 5.5 and not as shiny on my 2020, also I can close the tailgate with tonneou closed so maybe the seal on the last panel on yours just needs to be pulled up a bit?
I don’t have any complaints about water intrusion, but I guess that’s a relative response. I don’t expect it to be a 100% water tight seal so I do notice a small amount of water that’ll run down the tailgate and bulkhead of the bed, but that’s acceptable by my expectations since it keeps my cargo contents dry.

Junk- I have the roll up retractable in our 08- going with same for our 2019- even guys I know hate this junk and are going roll up- women don’t like lifting weight because double and triple folds just get heavier-garbage-
The canister that the t-cover retracts into unfortunately sucks up one foot but the fold ups lose space too and lean against the rear window moulding- so dam if u do dam if u don’t- our 08 has a super tight canister that only wastes about 6 inches but I can’t find ID anywhere
@@froglobster Hi. I'm new to trucks and am trying to choose which cover to order on my new Ford Maverick. Do you think the roll up hard cover or the tri-fold is better? These would be factory installed by ford. Thanks.
@@ttna77 Hi I’m not familiar with the height or ease of tri folds for the Maverick… but the simplicity and hideaway of the roll up retractable works for both trucks beautifully. Our neighbor is short and doesn’t like his fold up and our other neighbours wife can’t fold up their tri fold

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Super helpful video man. Much appreciated
I have the same covers on both my ford trucks and they have worked out great for me . Thanks
Did you hook up the drainage tubes at the front ? I have a bed liner and not sure how that’s going to work

Sweet and short review. Thank you

Thanks for the review.
what is the name of the brand
Worst cover I have ever bought, mine leaks like crazy, do you have any problems ?

You bought a truck with a bed on it, if you wanted a trunk buy a Car, SUV, Van, a Leer topper whatever, they’re all going to leak a little.
Very helpful thank you
That the one that I have and I love it
How is it holding up?
Good to know.
i have same truck and cover wondering if i can install a backrack with this cover and if yes can i still flip all the panels up to use the whole bed
I can't answer that question so I won't be able to help you there.
How do u like the spray in bed liner?
I like it a lot. I wouldn’t go back to a drop in liner.
Do you know what the Ford part number is for this cover? Thanks!
It’s in the video description
@@Jason____ yes, I was looking for the Ford branded version.
Do u have a link for the clamps holding the side rails
No, but I’d suggest going to Bakflip’s website and searching for parts.
The company is called truck hero
Do you know where I can get a replacement thumb screw?
Ace hardware
Does anybody know where I can get those from Lift point hardware bought a truck with this exact bed and can’t find the part number online
If you’re looking for the rod, then here’s a link: bakindustries.com/bakflip-prop-rod-replacement-rail-assembly
Anyone know how these hold up with hail?
It's an aluminum piece so I'm sure it'll dent just the same as any car body would if the hail is heavy enough.
Anyone have a link to get this for a good price?
Truck hero is hiring go apply u will get benefits and discounts.
