This is one of the saddest ones for me because even though he makes out this facade that he's this master manipulator and stuff its OBVIOUSLY not true like I don't think he's aware how easy it is to see through him. He stands so awkwardly and he's full of acne and its obvious he was severely bullied in school. He has no job, he sits at this run down casino all day full of old people that uses these obviously old machines, not even a well funded casino, and thats how he makes money. When they skype Kelsie at the end, you can tell by his face, THAT guy is the real guy. Its just sad to me because of how blatant the facade is. He thought he could shift his online persona that he uses to hide into the real world and it just didn't work. Everyone saw through it.

My favorite part of the episode was when max said “this loser is what gives our show a bad name”. I felt that so hard. There are so many people online who catfish just for the purpose of messing with people and no other reason. People think trolls like Adam are what all catfishes are. For every catfish adam, there is a lonely, insecure person with low-self esteem who just wants love and is willing to do anything to get it, even if it means presenting themselves as a totally different person all together. That is what catfish is about. That’s why i love the show. It’s about finding the person then finding the emotion and meaning behind the person and why they did what they did.
YES! I hate when people watch this show and just make rude, sarcastic comments about people who have catfished... Most people who get caught up in it are just regular people who have insecurities, emotional issues, and just want someone to give them a chance for who they are instead of what they may look like. You can understand and sympathize with someone's situation without excusing what they did. That comment was 110% correct. This jerk is exactly what gives the show a bad name.

A lot of people just feel lost, have low self esteem, have been bullied and want someone to give them a chance because they have no one they feel comfortable talking to in their real lives. For this guy, it was all about getting his 15 minutes. Look at him, he was bursting with excitement at being confronted. It wasn't about the other person's feelings or wanting to confront his inner demons of wanting interaction, someone to talk to him. It's a complete game to him. He's sick. I feel sad for him that he needs some professional help clearly to understand that messing with peoples' emotions is not a game. I don't feel sympathy for him.

This is my all time favorite catfish episode. I remember watching it on vacation in los vegas and wanting so badly for Kelsey to be real. Imagine my surprise to see kelsey wasn’t real and was just a troll looking for some kicks online. Though, at the end of the episode, adam did change his behavior and apologize. I was happy for that and to see everyone happy and moving on with their lives.

When you "meet" someone online, ask them to video call you so you can see them LIVE. If give you any excuse like, "my camera's not working" or some such excuse, they're not who the say they are.
I don't do video calls and I don't skype. Then again, I also don't date or make friends online: I'm married and not interested in cheating, and I don't want to meet random people. But if I were going online to make friends I would want proof that the people are who they say they are.

I'm perfectly honest about why I won't skype: I tell them all I just prefer speaking, and the visual option makes me nervous. So far, my job hasn't involved video conferencing and am really hoping it stays this way. I also cover my cameras so if I get hacked nobody can activate them and invade my privacy (which is free - it only takes a scrap of paper to cover the lens! - and is a good idea for everyone who doesn't choose to leave their computer cameras broadcasting 24/7).
