When I see people like this, who are just dead set on the idea that they have some magical relationship with a celeb because the celeb looked in their general direction at a concert or something, all I can think of is the celeb meeting them and flat out saying "Dude I wasn't even looking in your row! I remember that my high school offered a class trip to NYC when I was 17, roughly 1,000 miles from home. Before she would sign the permission slip, my mom made me swear to stick with the chaperones and my tour group the entire trip, not sneak out of the hotel at night, etc. She also told me, halfway serious, that she would drive up to NY if she didn't hear from me once a day. There is no way she woulda let me go to another state completely by myself at that age.

Back in 2015, I got "Celebrity Catfished," if you'd call it that, by someone who I thought was Juliet Simms. The whole thing was orchestrated by her "brother" in a very run-on manner, who said she was "dying" to meet me after hearing one of my song covers. I had no idea who she was at the time, so I wasn't starstruck at all. When I called her, she didn't sound all that excited, but we had a somewhat okay, albeit randomly paced conversation about music. My guess is that since I wasn't taking the bait, ie: "Come to my show in Brooklyn at the Knitting Factory!" or just wasn't starstruck in general, she just stopped talking to me abruptly. Then after we talked, her brother followed up with, "You know she believes full-throttle that you're her soulmate, right?"
Yeah, while she marries Andy Biersack a year later. If I had to thank the show Catfish for showing me one thing, it's how to look up phone numbers. Turns out the call was from Indiana, where her "brother" is from, and not from Florida, where the actual Juliet Simms is from. But the first red flag should've been her age he'd given me, which was "25" rather than 29 (at the time). I wasn't mad about it upon finding out the truth, just slightly irritated. Looking back, that was one of the most indifferent, haphazardly done Catfishes ever, lol!
