A guy I thought was gay was my friend for 4 years. He used to be by me almost everyday; he used to take my tomboy self shopping. He really brought my girly side out( as you can see in my pic. That was me when I was with him). Regardless of the numerous times he had joked about kissing me, I still believed that he was gay because that was what he said. I really should’ve seen the signs when he rarely hangs with my other guy friends when I’m with them, but when he was he’d easily get upset and kinda possessive. Sometimes he slips up when I was with my other male friends by saying “ she is my girl”, when he realizes he’d say “ she’s my friend not urs” either way, it’s still uncalled for. Still, I thought he was gay. I started texting this cute guy on fb for a month until my supposedly gay friend told me it was him and he was pretending to be gay to get close to me. I was a bit upset about it but I got over it after 10 mins, since I didn’t really had a connection with the catfished portrayal of himself. I was more angry with him deceiving me as a friend than as a male interest. He ghosted after a year after he realized that I really don’t care for him in that way. Even so, I’m torn apart that our so call friendship ended cause I really enjoyed it.

Like... Idk I have been in that situation, I never could confess anything to the guy because I sort of grew up with him, he was my brother's best friend (they're still friends btw) and what if my confession made everything awkward between us and ruins it for everyone?
My mom and my family have this understanding of him being family, there have been situations where we would be sitting in a room chatting and I would get this feeling that maybe he's flirting, maybe I should say something but I always chickened out, then someone from my family or his family would interrupt and whatever "moment" we were having would end.... So yeah... I am not saying what the girl did was okay, but like, I feel her.
