The sad part is when Iyanla asked her the type of man she wanted she said “the white picket fence” instead of describing the traits of a loving man or a loving marriage. That said everything about how she approached the relationship with him. Neither one of them actually loved each other.

She seems indifferent with him, but if someone does you wrong, you have the right to be angry and/or indifferent. I don't think she needs to just wrap it all up in a bow and move on for the sake of a tv episode. These people don't even have to interact with each other in the world any more. They came on here for a check. Any healing that was to be done, or doors that needed to be closed, was done long before they came on this show.

That figure was determined by the court based on his income, it's not whether SHE needs the money to not he has to financially contribute to supporting his children and be had not been doing it. The kids and viewers can choose not to make rash decisions about their future mate. They can learn from this couple's example(s) to establish healthy relationships, and not rush into marriage.
They never had a 'relationship.' Both were fronting and propping each other up. Keeping up with the Joneses. Life is way too short for pretending. Everyone suffers. Especially any children involved. If you don't love and care for someone genuinely, don't get involved with them. Don't use anyone to fill up a void in your life. They were mirrored images of the other. Profound.

She is ruining three lives because she didnt get what she thinks she deserved.. Its about her, nobody else. What she should have done is leave the children on his doorstep and share custody in their own homes, neither one should get child support, both should have complete health insurance on the children, money should be put In trust for essential expenses for the children and a 3rd party handle any spending.

Bob equally participated in ruining his children's lives, if not more. He caused his children to have abandonment issues during his extended absence. Both parents appear to be emotionally unavailable to their kids. Sheree was preoccupied with her own wants and needs although she didn't physically abandon them like Bob.

These fame marriages are usually built on the wrong values. The wives are beautiful (nothing wrong with that) but you can't base a marriage on superficial. The men have to be banking (nothing wrong with that) but once again superficial. The expensive life style. However, foundation of marriage can't be built on sand (material things and beauty). It has to be built with very strong material (morals, values, spiritual).

All I gotta say is Yessss and Amen!!! 🙌🏽 Sherree really got on my nerves in this video. So rubbed me the wrong way. She seems like a pretty shell of a person. I don't feel sorry too much for Bob because he lived and made choices like so many empty rich men live and make choices. He saw the chance to snag a woman who, if he didn't have money, he otherwise probably would have never been able to approach. Those children were her "investments" into the lifestyle she wanted before she even met Bob. All of this is SO sad, especially for the children.

The problem with these two is as Iyanla plainly stated they blame each other and talk negative which prevents them from being able to co parent. Yes the marriage was in shambles from the beginning. It was nice at the end that they were able to grab each other's hands on their own and put their pride aside for the best interest of their children.

They're both at fault. Bob wanted a trophy woman to look good , be a wife raise the kids, just put up with his shennanigans, and stroke his ego. Sheree wanted the lifestyle and status of a rich man/ athlete's wife with a husband who would be more support than an equal in the partnership. Both of them jumped headfirst without seeing what the other was truly about. They are both bitter and angry. Bob is bitter all he put moneywise into Sheree he still didnt get the wife/cheerleader he wanted, nor the control he wanted. The refusal to pay child support was more about his anger and need to control even if its a fleeting control. Sheree is bitter because she didnt get the lifestyle or status that she felt that she was entitled for what she feel that she "endured" from Bob. Bob for all his faults at least semi acknowledges his actions and is trying to face his demons though he got a ways to go. Sheree just keeps burying herself in defensiveness and material things.

Sheree does appear shallow and materialistic on RHOA and I agree with Iyanla that she built the Chateau as a status symbol to Bob and the world, rather than as a haven for her children. However, I think Iyanla’s criticism of Sheree’s desire to own such a large and expensive home while simultaneously suing Bob for child support was unfair. Child support amounts are typically calculated by the courts according to state statutes and regulations and oftentimes, regardless of the debts of the parents. Bob had both the moral and the legal obligation to financially support his children, notwithstanding his ex-wife’s expensive tastes and questionable judgment. And it appeared on the show that Bob refused to pay the court-ordered child support simply to spite her. What able and loving parent says “I’m not paying child support because you have enough money and don’t need it?” - ???. - Years after this episode aired, Sheree disclosed during the taping of season 9 of RHOA that Bob was physically, emotionally and verbally abusive to her during their marriage. In retrospect, it seems that Bob’s decision to withhold payment of child support was another form of abuse. Sheree may not be “all right but she ain’t all wrong either.”
Agree 100%!!! I couldn't believe what he said about child support! He doesn't get to decide whether or not she receives child support. That is his obligation to his children. Bottom line! And like you stated, it's a formula based on *both* their incomes!! I watch a lot of child support court hearings and the thing that surprises me the most are the number of people who can't believe how much a child support order is or they say things like, "that's too much!! It doesn't cost that much to take care of kids! She's just gonna use that money to get her nails done!!" 🙄 There was a non-custodial father who made a six figure income and had consistently for years. He felt $1200 for their three kids was "more than enough." Even though the order is based on a *formula* and the mom had their kids 90% of the time. Smh Not even taking into consideration that his children had lived with him and were accustomed to a certain lifestyle. In no way am I saying that children should get everything they want just because their parents make a substantial amount of money. However, it was disheartening that he wanted his kids to go from living in a nice home to a one bedroom apartment because he didn't want to properly financially support them.
I don’t agree with how Ivanka handled this. I think we are always making excuses for men’s absence, irresponsibility etc and almost blame women for men making mistakes. We need to stop that. If a girl gets pregnant, we are quick to say “oh she trapped him” or she did this or that. Like why can’t men be held responsible for their actions?
