Pretty clean job!! Always have loved the little V8 Ranger's Doesn't take much to make them a excellent sleeper to give all of these Dodge boy's go running back home to Mommy!! Lol

If you use a Explorer package it's almost a bolt together.

Thanks I built one before and sold it was sorry for doing that and built this one maybe 10 years ago.
How's the fuel economy after? I know I'm gonna swap it but I'm stuck between a 5.0 and a TDI. I know the 5.0 would be a lot more fun but I love how cheap the truck is to run right now, and I figure I could get some good mileage out of a diesel. I have a long commute since I live in the sticks and I love being able to take the truck some days without spending a fortune. I normally run a little tercel to work and back but the ranger's my preferred ride for sure.
Best part 20 mph combined.
Sick truck bro! I just brought a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT. I would appreciate if you could quickly explain what's under your hood like what year the engine is and the 8 rear. How much did everything cost? Thx ....... I'm thinking about a swap also I only have the 3.0.
Engine and rear axle are 96 Explorer, transmission is aode from anything in that approximate year. Two wheel drive. Any 5.0 Explorer they have the same engine as a Cobra Mustang or at least very close, big heads and intake. I put a f303 cam in mine but there are better choices. I used the stock exhaust manifold and H pipe from the Explorer then built dual exhaust back. Motor mounts I think Explorer can't remember for sure. I also used the instrument cluster from the Explorer.

@@BryceCzirr-jz7ju I don't know. That ranger is about the same weight as a civic and more torque. If it hooks, that ranger will smoke that civic. A stock 5.0 of that era made about 215hp.
Are the harness already in the door for the power windows and lock? So if I get the regulator and door covers with switches from and ranger everything will be there to plug in?
No you have to buy it all.
