I have the legacy edition 1up arcade. (Comes with 9 others retro arcade games) I did the EJB menu on umk3, had to enter it 3 times for the hidden characters to save and same with the lowered difficulty. Quit the game and went back in it. Everything was locked and the AI is cheap still.
If you choose to go into the test menu just by holding the buttons down on all 3 games, whatever you change in the settings whether it be the difficulty or volume, it will not save until you put your initials in. So if you're going to change settings through the test menu, "because it's easier to get into" after you change your settings, what I did was play a two-player game and just kept winning over and over until it asked for my initials. Like I said, it will NOT save until that happens. Now if you go to the EJB menu and change the same settings, it'll give you the option to put your initials in right then, and then it WILL save your settings RIGHT THEN.
The thing you got wrong in your video was no one knew this code, it stayed secret for 25 years. So no one was doing this in the Arcade. Only Ed and John knew it.

Wish you showed on MK2’s menu, where 1 of the stats items displays “Kano transformations”, which, initially, that convinced me that it WAS possible to morph into Kano, as a hidden feature but, the few arcade mk2 machines I got to access the menus with, I’d always see “0” next to how many ‘Kano transformations’. So, I just figured the programmers just added that line just to mess w/ us
I've successfully been into the ejb menus on each one the only one you really need it for is for the third one to unlock the hidden characters but you can make it easy using the easy method to access the hidden menu. And the video that I watched where the guy entered the ejb menu on Mortal Kombat 3 I entered the same initials as he did. I did exactly what was in his video and all three of my games are set at easy and all hidden characters are unlocked

What exactly is the warning of bricking the arcade? What are we being careful of? Doing the combo code too many tries? Or changing something in specific if the ejb menu?
Still having issues with the second method I do everything you tell me I press the right buttons and hold the stick in the exact order you told me and nothing idk why it’s not working please help someone please

Hold up, high kick and low punch on 2 player side. Hold block and run on player 1 side during start game screen. Easier and safer way of access to change difficulty screen.
ones the ejb menu the one you hold the buttons is for the test menu. the test menu is what the arcade owners would use that was somewhat known the ejb menu tho hasnt been known all to long. dont beleive any arcades ever accessed the ejb menu
since you can access dip-switch settings which typically aren't available to consumers, I am not surprised the EJB menu's were hidden so well and for so long....could you imagine doing EJB menu in an arcade and changing it to Free Play?

I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure out if I had to do that or if my machine was acting weird lol. I just got this and TMNT for $200 each and I'm ecstatic!
sorry if you did this already im new but could you do a buying guide on all the Arcade1up stuff? I searched it on ebay and im so confused about what versions to get or whats rare idk then i see accessories for them like custom risers and light up marquees but idk if these are offical accessories or what
The arcade1up Riser is official because it says 1up on it though there is another company making graphics for the side panel if I'm not mistaken it's raining on one side and Shiva on the other you just have to search Google Mortal Kombat cabinet graphics, you can also upgrade the joysticks like I plan on doing, they begin with a 's I think sanawai the name of them

In Ultimate MK3 you need the actual EJB menu to enable secret characters or else you have to use the power codes. Ermac - 12344 44321 Mileena - 22264 22264 (supposedly this is Ed Boon’s Birthday Feb 22 1964) Classic Sub-Zero - 81835 81835 They stay unlocked once the codes are entered and you reload the game so that is better than risking bricking the ROM. I wouldn’t mind using the test menu to lower the difficulty though cause the AI is annoying on medium with the input reading.

I did on mine for mortal mom at 1 and It bricked mortal Kombat 2 for some reason so if your gonna do this just be aware of the risk
This isnt working for the mk2 delux arcade 1up cabinet. As soon as I press low punch on the right controller the game starts up.
