I love this game & I’m glad they added to it. Probably one of the most underrated beat em ups of recent years.
Truer words have never been spoken....saw the Switch news channel notification about the dlc incoming a few weeks ago & got super hyped
Along with Fight&Rage that game it would be a blast with an online multiplayer mode too imho.
@@emanueletintori1229 Fight n Rage could definitely benefit from online co op. It’s not as widespread as SoR4 or Turtles so finding a friend to play it with is not really much of an option as they have no incentive not knowing what it is.

It's a shame that this game doesn't get much love. This free DLC added almost endless replay value.

Yea, because people still dislike it since it doesn't look like the arcade games. Which is sad that the standard has to be the original.
@@aweirdredtoad3637 That's not the only reason why people dislike it. Game has very little depth for a beat'em up and the broken tag mechanic makes an already easy game even easier.

Just downloaded the update, looking forward to giving the new characters a whirl!
Not a beat'em up title one so far, but if you are looking for a cool Ghost of Tsushima/Sekiro with an open world gameplay like wise formula, a difficulty selection, and an incredibly accurate character editor too, I warmly recommend Rise of the Ronin for ps5 Reverend.
This due of the fact that there are two charas there as well, but instead than teaming up, they are one against the other at all. 🤙🏻

Enjoyed the game but i wish it could have more challenge. They should let you spend leftover tokens in a hard arcade mode that has a lot of nice trophies and unlockable outfits , all stages and bosses, no power ups and no tag option if you want to play very old school. I do like the idea of Double Dragon being a tag team game, for the single players the "double" in the name has meaning again
How your turn off the crowd control notification?
There's now an option in the settings to remove it.

Played online and it was too laggy. The tent game did the same thing with the turtles in time gameplay
I loved everything about this game except the backgrounds and the length. It didn't look like the Double Dragon world and it was way too long. Survival mode fixes both of these problems. This is a great update.
As much as I love how different stylistically all the double dragon games are, I do wish theyd stop re using the theme from the first game.
Nice vid man! Double Dragon was and still is one of my favorite beat em up game genre since the 80's and 90's. Super Double Dragon on the SNES is my favorite game in the franchise. I dont like the art style of this game but I guess looks aren't everything. Definitly give this game a try.
It's a very fun game! I like the art style, but I get it's not for everyone! But hey, combat and gameplay are what make these games great!

The 80's and 90's art style wouldn't win any prizes in today's era and back then as a kid I couldn't care less about it but the gameplay is were it has always been. Very good point man. Well, this new free update has just gave to this game a second wind imho. Not only the new charas (especially Sonny Lee, Lau, and Ranzou) are incredibly cool, fun to play and learn, but the new modes have been giving more variety to this title, besides even the online mode it is a very enjoyable addition, not to mention that in jolly coop, it is even easier to unlock the in game tokens, although the overall difficulty it is always below the average one imho.🤷🏻♂️
Now, I don't want to sound polemic on this matter, as you rightly said Savino bro, since this dlc is being free we should not watch the gift horse in the mouth, still I have got just a comparison to make here, Dotemu with her TMNT Shredder's revenge pay dlc, did better, why wayforward they could not do the same with their Double Dragon: Rising then?
If they keep the price to a fair level, this title it could become a even more worthier beat'em up, with more stages and even more bosses to fight imho.
Btw, back to the old/new charas to play, I am using Ranzou, I believe the fact that they made it similar to Shiva from Streets of Rage series, or it could be an actual tribute to him though, hence the reason of why he cannot pick up weapons on the ground since he is using his own katana blade, on top of that, some moves like the ninja slide and spinning attacks are very close to Shiva fighting style though.

I believe this DLC was part of the original contract with Arc. Don't quote me there, but I have this impression. And I also believe Raymond did more than was previously accorded.
While it is not on par with TMNT or SoR4, what we got is pretty fun. But yeah, it will be short lived thanks to the lack of unlockables. Playing just to prove yourself you are the one is not really for or most people, I think.
Now, maybe we can get a paid dlc in the future... Who knows? I wouldn't complain.

Is this the best double dragons game? The original DD is my favorite so far. I haven’t played this game yet.
Not quite the best, in my opinion this title still belongs to Return of Double Dragon, but it is easily one of the best.
They should have added online coop , that's what everyone wanted
But there is online coop! Both story and survival.

The online works with you or friend creating a room that can be both public or private.
Pretty straight forward.

Meu primeiro teste com o Hanzou me fez pensar que ele é praticamente quebrado. Mas a medida que to jogando, eu to me saindo cada vez pior com ele hahaha. Estou jogando melhor com o Sonny, que tem ação e especial com OTG

Sonny é absurdo de bom! Todos os especiais dele são foda e dá fácil pra encaixar os 3 na sequência. Boss não tem nem chance.
O Chin que eu não curti mto, acho Abobo ou Matin mto melhor que ele.

Ano passado com muita dificuldade jogando com o Jimmy eu cheguei na ultima fase(to jogando com todas as barras no mais dificil) mas não consigo passar da parte dos 4 chefes juntos ta doido....to pensando em aceitar a oferta do prefeito e recomeçar
Estão sim! Os upgrades novos são para todos os modos.
@@eyn85 os novos upgrades são bons pro final. Mas seria uma boa você aceitar a oferta dele de início e depois ir treinando pra passar da fase que é realmente braba de concluir.
Eu recomendo treinar com a Marian, que tem umas estratégias muito boas, como deixar uma mina no chão, usar a ação dela pra rolar para trás dos inimigos e jogando eles na direção da mina. Feito isso só atirar até encher o especial e usar a bazuca, e com a mesma barra lançar outra mina caso tenha alguém perto.
Outra coisa que ajuda é saber abusar dos ataques aéreos, que geralmente são ataques de derrubara. Dá um combo básico nos chefes perto da parede e eles vão bater e voltar. Se você pular e bater, eles vão bater e voltar de novo, possibilitando um infinito.

Arc System Works isn't really doing anything with the Double Dragon franchise except milking the classic games.
All they did to develop *Gaiden* is by ripping off Shredder's Revenge.
I beg to differ. Gaiden has nothing to do with Shredder's Revenge, aside both presentation being similar.
Gameplay-wise they couldn't be more different.
You can compare it with Streets of Red, but Turtles?? No... Not by a long shot.

It's the fluid 16-bit like graphics, cartoonish and colorful animation style, nearly the same sound effects when characters get hit, and has the same feel of gameplay.
It's like ArcSys tries to desperately and unoriginally keep Double Dragon relevant by copying and pasting the most well-received beat 'em up comeback, which is TMNT's.
@KEN-1991 yeah... Absolutely nothing you mentioned are property of the turtles. 16bit cartoonish graphics is something as old as 16bit.
But even if you're right, you are comparing the most superficial things possible on a beat 'em up. Who cares about the looks? What matters is gameplay and combat and if you have played Double Dragon there would be no way you would say both are similar.

Of course ArcSys didn't, the real creators Technōs Japan is faulty for giving Double Dragon's rights to anyone with a pulse.
The "look" of the game is so off-putting. The game itself is pretty decent. I just can't get into the big head chibi look. But overall, I'd say the game is a 6/7. Co-op is fun. Makes it better.
