Thank you for this presentation, I've been considering switching from my Nitecore MH10V2 to a flat light. This will help me narrow things down.

Pen light to the wedge is a very easy switch!

Always happy to see another technician light addict. Appreciate the upload! I've personally been using the Wedge XT, Strion 2020 (and DS/HL) and the Macrostream. Love em' all.

i've got a rovyvon e30 pro and it's amazing. It's got a pretty simple operation; I love that you have turbo button and normal button. Sorry you had trouble operating it, but I assure you, if you used a few days in a row, you get the hang of the button operations effortlessly.

e30 is confusing at first but now I prefer the double click high mode. Because it prevents burning a hole in the pocket, unlike single click lights like the EDC27

wow someone who actually uses lights everyday and breaks them.
I carried the klarus e5 around for awhile, really good for changing tires/changing tire pressure. doesnt have very good throw, crappy battery life. I do like how thin and light it is, i got a few of them for 5 bucks each. this is a weird thing about flashlights but i find they always end up in my mouth when im working on cars. the klarus is small and light enough to where it doesnt chew up my lips as fast as my other lights. really easy to carry once you rip the pocket clip off its half the thickness.
there is a new version called the warsun. idk i dont really like both of them. the charging port is dumb, the button is confusing, impossible to tell if your pressing the charging port or on/off in the dark. after medium use the battery only lasts ~15 min on high.
the nitecore edc ive seen a few of them break randomly in weird ways. i think its just heavy and gets dropped but their screens leak water, the emitters randomly burn out. idk i like the fact that its steel but too expensive for me.
I was going to get the tungen yc8003, i didnt like the fact that it didnt have real uv. the buzzer thing is dumb thats just going to go off in my pockets randomly. the emitters are not very big.
i kept looking and i found the better chinease arkfield, its called the trustfire mini x3 edc. all the features of the arkfield pro, smaller size, less gimicky button set up. it was like 56 bucks on their website no tax no ship lol

Hey man, thank you for the great video and conversation. Couple of thoughts I want to share:
    1. I agree with your assessment of the Rovyvon, absolutely despise their user interface. I do like that you can use 2 AAA, or even 2 10440s. Good for emergencies or if the main batteries died. Not that useful for a tech though so I get it. They have a new E30 pro that has a single big LiPO battery, but same bad UI.
    2. Would love to check out the Streamlight XT, it looks nice. Same thing with the Surefire, but I just can’t get past the micro USB in 2024. New stilleto Pro II looks amazing but at almost $400 I just can’t.
    3. Agree on the Olight. For some inexplicable reason, they don’t memorize the high mode of the light has been off for a while. I use an Arkfeld Flex at work and that’s my main negative of it. After 10 minutes it turns on in the 100 lumen mode, instead of 400.
    4. Loved my EDC27 but had to return it after it burned a hole in my pocket. Just ordered the new EDC25. New proximity sensor, and now the Turbo button has to be fully pressed for that to turn on. Hopefully is better.
    5. Streamlight wedge is classic. Sold mine a while back but probably picking one up again.
    Thanks again!

One thing I’ve been saying about these flat flashlights is that now that the form factor is flat you can do all these other cool things with it that you couldn’t normally do and I’ve been talking about it for a while. I’ve been saying that they could make a flashlight with magnets so that if you want G 10, you could put a G 10 plate on it or wooden plate on it so you could swap it out when you get bored of it. Another thing I can do now is put a single blade that can flip out so that you conveniently have your flashlight and a blade together. Nobody’s done that yet if Olight did it, they could call it the Arkflip. 😂

The Nitecore EDC27 badly needs a slider lockout like the EDC33 has. I still bought it as it employs a great floody beam and is the only light that has direct access to low, medium (long press power button - undocumented function), turbo and strobe.
