Oh Harri, this is golden! Miss Ella and Satchmo, no one did it better! Gone, but not forgotten, it can't be taken away from us! I am so blessed that our parents listened to all kinds of music! This made me smile, you made me smile Harri! So smooth!
Thank you so much for playing this song! It’s quite possibly the best example of early fusion music a healthy dose of jazz and big band be-bop sounds! Many likes from me!
When Ella was booked in a night club in LA. The crowd wasn’t showing up. So, Marilyn Monroe was a fan. Got dolled up at sat up front. It got in the newspapers. Then, all the beautiful people came to see Ella every night. Sold out crowds. Ella and Marilyn became good friends.
Louis & Miss Ella are absolutely magic. Listened to both of them duet or single in the 50’s, I love Louis trumpet playing, it sends me away! No one compares to Miss Ella’s voice, along with the band it really is fantastic. A favorite video of Louis is when he was invited to Ghana, in 1955 (56?)the incredible welcome by thousands of people will bring tears to your eyes. Louis was overwhelmed 💓
Stephen Qualtrough and I are kindred spirits, apparently. I requested a while back also!! Thanks so much for playing/reacting. One of my very favorite songs EVER
Glorious!! One of the few that I own CDs of. Perfect timing as well. The town I live in is where W.C. Handy was born in 1873. He lived long enough to see Louis Armstrong record his songs. The W.C. Handy Festival is underway here right now. His birthplace is just down the road from me.
Absolutely delightful. Two of the greats.❤ ❤ Just a perfect start to my morning, nothing like a trip down memory lane. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Stephen 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
All of us who were born in the early years of television got to see these people perform this beautiful music...We were so lucky to be a part of the 50s clear through the 70s...Music was at its best the entire time...An era that may never be repeated... Unadulterated music with no techno revisions, just amazing !!
They smile when they sing together because they absolutely adored each other. They say when he recorded with her he would crack jokes and curse a lot, it would have her laughing through the entire recording.
Stephen, this is an amazing find! Thank you so much. These two icons just invite us to dance or listen peacefully with a big smile. Great commentary from Harri🌺✌️
Stephen Q - Two of the true Greats of Jazz performing this duet. I highly recommend Ken Burns' Jazz documentary, where I really got schooled. Superb submission and review, Stephen and Harri.
So many people say that Aretha is the best female singer and everyone is entitled to their opinion but for me Ella is the Queen - head and shoulders above the rest. And as far as duets go the only one that would have been ever so slightly above this duo would be if Ella & Bing would have sung together
Despite the fact that Bing is my favorite singer ever so slightly ahead of Louis if I had to choose to see only one of them live I would have chosen Louis
This epithet They Can,'t Take This Away From Me is a source of many frustration for Hindus because it is one of the many obstacles from getting emancipation. Venus signifies something you cherish so is a factor in blocking emancipation. In fact the recovery from the dead. the Mrityunjaya mantra comes under Venus Classics say Venus is a reincarnation of Shiva and the other name for Venus is Sukracharya. This mantra in fact is a Shiva mantra. Venus always make you feel alive again like if your marriage gfails, you find a new partner, when your house gets broken in and your items get damage, you have the money to replace them. That is why Venus is called the guru of the demons. Emancipation is not one of his prime agendas. If your Venus is powerful in your chart, you have the capacity to go to Shiva to get emancipation. After all Shiva is very kind. He leaves it to you whether you want to get re-birth or you want emancipation.
Oh, I love both of these people so much. They just don’t make music like this anymore. Thanks, Stephen and Harry.

The counterpoint between the horn and her voice in the first part is wild. Variations on a theme. This is jazz. This is art.
Listen to them singing Dream A Little Dream Of Me. Lovely. I love Ella and Louis.

I learned about this pair as a blues radio DJ in college 30 years ago. Every one of their duets is gold!!
Try Moonlight in Vermont.
The most beautiful duet ever recorded! Thank you Harri

Royalty!
I have 2 CDs of duets with Ella and Louis. One reviewer said it was like bourbon (Louis) and a fine Cabernet Sauvignon (Ella). Perfection!
Dream a Little Dream of Me is sublime. A must one to react to. The way Ella and Louis interact is magic.
That was amazing. Thank you Harri and Stephen. The two greatest voices in jazz music and two of the greatest voices ever.
She had such a beautifull voice ! 🥰🥰
You're correct, I am blessed to have live back in the heyday of the great music. And, I knew I was listening to greatness and history being made.
Ella was the absolutely the best female singer in my lifetime!
Cream of the twentieth century crop! Aural diamonds set in platinum! Simply swinging!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful duet.

A nice change of pace for all of us here on Harri's channel. Legendary greats. Thanks Stephen and Harri. 👍👍👍
I've got all the Ella & Louis duet albums ..... every track a gem !
Such genius and such restraint, at least for Ella.

I’ve been visiting the greats by listening to their music in their prime. So this is perfect. Ella,Louis, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington anyway ☮️
I love this song, and I love these two together! Gotta go get my cd out and listen. It's been a minute😊Thanks for reminding me!
me too!
Brilliant selections lately as you stretch it into some classics. Great breadth.
2 masters! Greatness! Musical Royalty!

you can tell it's louis armstrong when he's playing trumpet❤ very distinctive i love them both...
lol...that's it! his trumpet sounds like he's smiling as does his singing😊
Louis’ phrasing is totally coming from his trumpet playing. Absolutely fantastic.
The Gershwins were musical geniuses
Omg.That is simply stunning ❤🎉
Wonderful reaction and review, in all respects!
Thank you!
Would you repeat that again, Harri. I hope they had good lives. they were amazing.
thank you

Beautiful ❤❤❤
It was a good time. Things were clearer.
Love when they worked together of the Ella Fitzgerald I've heard, not a huge amount, I prefer the live albums she really shines in concert.
So beautifull ❤ Thank you for the request Stephen 😇🙏❤️ Have a feeling that I know the song from a Fred Astare movie? Thanks Harri

After 17 hours this video only has 676 views. I don't recall receiving a notification for it and I have a feeling that many others didn't either 🙁
You know it "Bro" ...
Ella is magnificent. Wait till you hear Sarah Vaughan.
