  • After a crash, the receiver board of my little hélico no longer worked on one channel. The one other channel was still alive. No more usable for the helico but good enough for a pop-pop boat. It was the opportunity to build this small radio controlled boat. For all the details of building, except the radio gear, please refer to my other video "How to build a tin popop boat". Warning : this experimentation requires a good pratice of the model building and of the radio gear implementation. Thanks for watching. Enjoy.
How to build a tin popop boat. » Bonne vidéo.

If you use 1 servo to lower and rise the burner you could have some throttle control as well :) Or have a moveable sheet metal plate block the flame without putting it out.

@@MrPatnico I made a small oil lamp by gluing two bottom pieces of a soda can together. It gave it a nice round shape. Then I drilled two holes in the top of the can, one for the wick and the other for the filler hole of alcohol fuel. Then I took the top of the can and trimmed it until I had a nice ring to rest the fuel tank on. It was all glued with 2 component epoxy glue and will serve as the burner for my small engine. A screw was used to plug the filler hole. The wick runs true a small piece of brass tube.

I don"t use candle but oliva oil. So it depend of the amount of oil in the burner. Say about 15 minutes. For the radio gear, the electric consommation depend of the sollicitation of the rudder. Many hours maybe.

Yes you can use epoxy. The boiler is the only one problem because it should be resistant at more than 120 °C. Iron is easy to sold with plumbing solder. This soldering is heat resistant but not works with aluminium. Of course, boiler should be perfectly sealed. If you find only aluminium can, you can use the Araldite glue with metal powder included for the boiler. This glue is more heating resistant than others For the rest of the boat, aluminium and epoxy are well
