  • What If It’s Genuinely Not Your Fault? - Jocko Willink
    Speaker: Jocko Willink
Jocko Willink addresses the challenging scenario of facing situations that are genuinely not your fault. He emphasizes the importance of extreme ownership, where you take responsibility for everything in your world, even if it's not directly your fault. Jocko explains that by taking ownership, you empower yourself to influence outcomes and make positive changes. He advises focusing on what you can control and how you can contribute to a solution, turning adversity into an opportunity for growth and leadership.

i think it sticks. if it's genuinely not your fault, you didn't hire him, you trained him the best you could and he continues to be a danger to your team, fire him. he's on your team, take ownership of the entire process.
a dark example, if a family member gets cancer, it's not your fault. you can take ownership of your supportive role for your family member.
generally it's not extreme ownership to have a mindset of looking to pass on the blame
