Love all the Lucid content. It’s rare on RUclips. Lucid is for real and the range is incredible. More people need to give it a chance because it’s a great car. Yes it’s expensive but in my opinion it’s far superior over an EQS/Model S.

Lucid has a showroom near my home and I have to say the staff there have always been super knowledgeable, super friendly. Never a fake or rehearsed feel to them, just there to honestly represent the company and talk with people. Very professional. I have to say that Lucid vehicles build quality, fit and finish look absolutely amazing. Even the ‘base’ model Pure is absolutely gorgeous in person. A bit out of my price range but if I could afford it, Lucid vehicle’s would definitely be on my radar

Good video. Love my Air GT. I think I would have ordered the metal roof if I could have. So, so glad I didn't. That open feeling is addictive.
Lidar works by scanning an infrared laser, not unlike a grocery store scanner, out through the curved plastic lens in the front. Droplets of rain also act like little lenses, disrupting the beam. Once you are moving at highway speed, that's when the lidar is actually useful, the wind will keep big round droplets from forming.
A few tips from my year travelling in a Lucid. When planning my next stop I always check both the EA app and the Lucid app on my phone. If the EA app shows chargers are working but the Lucid app does not, skip that charger. Other than those locations I have always been able to charge. On those occasions when I get a really slow charge rate or can't charge a (friendly/polite/sympathetic) call to EA's 800 number has always helped. Rebooting a charger will get it to work 9 times in 10, but if a 150kW charger is working, take that. In reality it is almost as fast. Patience and politeness go a long way with the stressed-out EA gals who mostly hear complaints all day.

A white Touring with the hard top and lighter color Santa Cruz interior looks stunning in the Lucid configurator. The dark rainy day and Mojave interior don’t help the enclosed feel of this one. I agree it would be nice to have a light color ceiling to highlight that spacious interior, regardless of trim.

I would love NOT having a glass roof. Might be nice in NY.. but in the Southwest.. you have to CRANK the AC to overcome the solar input... also the smaller windshield would be much less expensive to fix when you inevitably get that first rock hit from the road.

      Yes it is.
I've seen plenty of people on RUclips driving Tesla's and other glass roof vehicles here in the southwest. And they all have their AC cranked to 68.
And many of them complain about their head being hot. Regardless of the UV protection in the glass. It's still hot. 100-112 Fahrenheit in the summer. UV index of 11-13.
So yes the glass roof is going to suck. And yes I know you can put a shade to cover it. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the glass roof. Personally I would rather just have a metal roof and not have to deal with it.

If the car had to park out in the sun all day that experience may have been different.

Texas is a big state. There's a big difference in weather between Dallas. And Laredo or El Paso. Dallas has basically temperate weather the same as Ohio.
      Houston is hot and humid.
But the west and southwest areas of Texas have much higher UV indexes, much higher ambient temperatures.
All I know is that when I see videos of people that have these types of cars they always have their AC cranked to max. I run around in my Toyota Hybrid set at 74 which is a perfectly comfortable temperature. Dark tint on the side windows. But since I don't have sun beating down from the top I don't have to have the air blowing as cold or as much to keep myself comfortable.
Even if the UV itself can't penetrate the glass. The glass itself gets hot and radiates that heat downwards onto your head.

Single volume control for GPS and entertainment was a big problem. Horrible single clam-shell wireless phone charger was ridiculous for a $155K EV. We don’t like Amazon Alexa listening to our conversation, so turning it off eliminates voice commands. LiDAR does not like the rain and is a common thing with my partner's Lucid Air GT as well. Nothing to be concerned about other than knowing what to expect. For the price of the Pure, I would expect it to be similarly equiped to the EQE 450 4Matic. The solid roof is definitely a downer as it makes the claustrophobic space feel much more crampt with that much black all around. For the price, they should at least keep the glass roof.

Lack of a panoramic glass roof will be notable to many consumers, especially as more EV sedan offerings are launched in the US. Model 3 has a panoramic glass roof and costs less than half of the Pure. NIO’s ET5 will eventually reach US soil on their NT 3.0 platform. Not having a panoramic glass roof on a high priced luxury/premium car will be like when certain high end smartphones had plastic backs and sides. It’s a recipe for lower sales.

It's the same arrangement we had with our Tesla Model S in the early days, and it works very well for the owner. Ironically, getting our newer Model S serviced is now more of a hassle since they opened a service center in the next town. I'm almost dreading when Lucid opens a service center near us instead of using the one across the state as we do right now. (We're on the west coast of Florida and use the Riviera Beach service center on the east coast.)

No EVs which use the EPA 5-cycle protocol to rate range instead of the 2-cycle protocol will get their rated range in sustained highway driving. Both Tesla and Lucid use the 5-cycle protocol. (Porsche and Audi use the 2-cycle protocol, thus their cars can actually achieve EPA range in highway driving, but the EPA range is also much lower.) We have a 2021 Model S Plaid and a 2022 Lucid Air Dream Performance, both with 21" wheels. Our Plaid gets about 72% of its rated range when driving at a steady 80mph on a flat, lightly-traveled stretch of I-75 (Alligator Alley through the Everglades) in temperate weather. (Our 2015 Model S P90D on 19" wheels only got about 65% of its rated range driven thus, so Tesla is improving its efficiency.) Our Lucid gets about 78% of its rated range in the same conditions. This yields about 100 miles more actual highway range in our Lucid compared to our Tesla.

Also their waiting list seems to be evaporating faster than they can make them.

Literally everywhere i go people come up to me to look at the car, take pictures, say how appealing it is. Driving one is worlds apart from your MSP. See MSP owner & Tesla fan Kyle Connor's canyon run in the middle-of-the-line AGT. He concludes that the Lucid's handling is "miles above" his own MSP.

A Lucid is ok and glad it's another choice but let's tell the truth especially when there is also the Taycan, EQS, and the BMW i7 that can be equipped with auto present doors on all doors, comes with touch screens on the doors and a whole rear media theater, that's ultra luxury not any version of a Lucid

    • @Miata822

I take it that you haven't actually driven a Lucid then. Lucid makes driver's cars. The cost of a Lucid is in the actual mechanical hardware and interior materials. See the latest MunroLive video for a brief engineering description of just the front underbody to get a glimpse at the engineering and materials refinement of Lucid vehicles.
Yes, some people would rather have video games. That's up to you. The Lucid is not for everyone.

@@mowcowbell It's just mouth-breathing Tesla-troll ranting about things they do not understand, yet somehow feel threatened by. He's blabbering about things that he does not understand. People (like me) who buy cars like this (one year in my Air GT) are less concerned with the perfection of a cutting-edge vehicle than the experience the vehicle delivers.
