Great job Colteton, good to see even those super expensive vehicles also have various issues from factory too (not just Tesla's)! In one of your other video's you said you would be doing a video of 'How2 - Stone Chips', I'd really like to see that, your demo's are awesome! Thank you.
I love your content. Just for fun, I think it would be neat if you could do a quality assessment on a low priced car....maybe a Mitsubishi Mirage for example? Curious if build quality correlates to price tag, although I think I already know that answer based on the Lucid's results.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO LUCID FAMILY ❤🙋♂️🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🕺🕺💎💎💎😁👍😉✌ADDING ON AND HOLDING STRONG HOLD THE LINE EVERYONE STAY FOCUSED AND DISCIPLINE HARD WORK DEDICATION.
I had high hopes for these cars, but man, these issues are impossible to ignore. Carmakers rush everything to keep up with demand nowadays, and it shows in the worst ways.
Why not . Lucid is 900 W Technology ! Best EV car on the Planet ! Many Bentley and Porsche owner will buy Lucid Air ! Millions of People - I will too !
What do you expect man. It’s nothing different than a shitty Tesla. Giant, ugly iPads on wheels that offer nothing but acceleration as their one trick. Quality is awful and the interiors feel like a $30k Ford or Honda. Shitty, synthetic, ugly interiors that are anything but luxury.
The alignment isn’t too big of a deal to many. I personally don’t mind too much as I’ve seen SLS Mercedes with much worse gaps and alignment. Same with Aston Martin and even Bentley. I would say the Lucid is on par. Sure I would like it better, but in general it looks better than my Model S or 3 was. The only concern is the trim that isn’t properly adhered.
Awesome video with great explanations for the layperson! Is it true that every car will have some type of paint issue, including Rolls Royce's? Thank you so much! I hope that you get to analyze Out of Spec 6'5" Dave's Lucid.
The heat from the lights is just due to intensity. It is different than efficiency. Bright LED flashlights can start fires. The light gets absorbed by your skin/clothes and turns to heat. Anyway. Great video. Crazy to me companies would sell a car for this much with this build quality.
Man, I was hoping the Lucid would have had better build quality. Great video and detail level. One question: You previously commented that the Tesla Model Y in White has more robust paint than some of the other colors. Does that mean that the upgrade paint jobs are generally not as thick or something else? Thanks!
Like me common consumer's prospective, gorgeous and perfect car ! Any brands nany cars are not perfect ! But I hope Lucid watch your great review to improvement .
According to Kyle’s Dad his Lucid’s charge port has an opening issue and he has to open it from the menus in the screen inside the car - he shows how to do it in his first video with the car
I love what rivian and lucid are doing and the strides they are making. But scaling production with quality is where things usually fall apart. Same thing happened to tesla. I hope in 2 years when I consider a model 3 replacement they sort through these growing pains. But as of now I wouldn't consider a rivian or lucid over a tesla.
Since Kyle is having charging experiences rated, and as much as we”d like to, it’s not affordable to ship our cars to Colton to get the treatment. What about having a rating system, or in a perfect world a Colton shop vetting system for us to help figure out the trustworthy shops.
If I had this kind of money, I would stick with one of the major brands like BMW. Their i7 is very nice and you can probably get a new windshield in a day.
Suit yourself, but BMW's EV sedans are lazily designed conversions of ICE cars with literally no frunks, super frustrating controls buried in a mess of menus, and nowhere near the interior space and luxury of Lucid. The i7 is not the Lucid competitor anyways, though the Lucid is just as nice of an interior and is more spacious and agile. The price/size-matched competitor for the Touring is the i5 M60. The i5 interior space is a plastic, claustrophobic joke in comparison. The i5 throttle and brake calibration were also basically rough drafts. You'll be making passengers car sick for the first couple weeks for sure. Driving an i5 for a couple days is seriously what drove me to break the CPO BMW streak and take the Lucid plunge
Still, with all these issues, this thing comes off as a Rolls Royce when comparing to a Tesla. Thr market tends to forget as well how new this brand and car is. They should've launched with an SUV though. The sedan was a dumb move.
Much nicer than a Tesla inside. US build quality is no where near Korean cars. Front full glass will be awful to replace if cracked. Tesla's with cracked front windscreens can be off the road for over a month.
Quality is horrible, I have been saying for over a year. They never addressed all these issues. I would never buy a Lucid. Can't wait for Lexus to mass produce their flagship EVs.
Good luck selling these things at double the price it should be. How can the same car have a price spread like this? All That orange peel and they charge extra for it. I also think the back end is it’s worst feature. It just looks goofy.
Can't afford a Lucid but your presentation is extremely helpful when looking a other cars.
This video
1) is the best delivery prep video I've ever seen
2) got me subscribed
3) should be required viewing for Lucid production staff
What a breathtakingly beautiful car. Minor quibbles with panel alignment and paint.
It's funny to see the differences in what makes a "heck of a car" according to a detailing channel vs a track/dynamics channel
Lol “nerd level 9000”. I agree with you, I love the Lucid but the backend is just strange looking. Great in-depth review!!

Very detailed... love your videos. I just ordered an Lucid Grand Touring, hope it has paint. LOL.

Nice to know that stuff....Great Job! .......The interior really makes it. The exterior will be timeless.

Colton, thanks for the review. Would love to see a follow up on the car after you've finished it.

Love lucid 💙💙💙 .. great work thanks 🙏
Helpful, I was actually thinking of getting one but after this I'm not. Those wonky shutlines are unacceptable on a car costing that much.
I'm curious to see how this compares to other startups like Rivian and Tesla, and vs. traditional luxury carmakers like the German brands.
Like me common consumer's prospective, gorgeous and perfect car !

It was user error.
I do hope that Lucid has taken note of your examination and implemented corrective actions.
The biggest knit pick on the seats is they have almost no lateral bolstering
Good job 👍

@@vickykennel7414 I'm simply looking at the video I just watched on quality. Glad your car is good.
I'm hoping dream drive becomes more than lane keep assist soon 😂 Huge potential considering the hardware
Thanks for the deep dive, much appreciated :)

Why you don't do a single cars in the world reviews 🤔 I would like to here the different options
I love these videos however I don’t have anything to compare all these EV gap videos to what might have also existed in ISE cars
This the new Lucid STE - Slapped together edition
What do you mean there is no paint ? How do you tell ? If it isn’t paint then what is on it ? Love your work 😊
did you say 4000 USD stereo?
I thought Tesla was the only one that had any build issues though!!! Where the haters at?
improving the fuck it's 100k it better be fuckin perfect
they are probably over-polishing straight from the factory with really soft fresh paint..
Still, with all these issues, this thing comes off as a Rolls Royce when comparing to a Tesla.

what did people think? This car cost 50k like Tesla crab?

1st gen Lucid interior way better than 5 gen Tesla

You are a little late on the info. I own my Lucid Dream edition since October. It is an amazing car! Simply put!
Good luck selling these things at double the price it should be. How can the same car have a price spread like this? All
That orange peel and they charge extra for it. I also think the back end is it’s worst feature. It just looks goofy.
All these “premium” electric cars are a joke. That fact anyone can call these things (or Teslas) luxury cars is laughable and sad.
Surely overpriced based on the quality in detail.
So this is a car wash dude?
Best EV car build in USA 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow not good. I was nitpicking 2023 model S. This lucid is really bad.
And I thought Rivian was bad. I am no longer interested, this is pretty nasty!!
All of the Tesla haters suddenly find this acceptable.. hypocrites, LOL!!
Not acceptable from Tesla, rivian lucid or any manufacturer. Tesla well known for 💩, these manufacturers will be too if they don't improve.
This feels nick picking
ugh
The Lucid Air is such an ugly car.
I would never buy this thing.
Cannot beat Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Subaru when comes to quality. Tesla, Ravian quality is the worst.
You should really do research before speaking of non detailing aspects of the car. Dream Drive is not just lane keeping assist.
Bad quality and ugly. Not sure why anyone would spend 100k on this. That 1 piece of glass for windshield and roof is terrible design.
What do you mean there is no paint ? How do you tell ? If it isn’t paint then what is on it ? Love your work 😊
