  • Denon's Home Series are streaming speakers with HEOS built in, so not only do they sound fantastic but they are easy to add to your Denon HEOS wireless music system.
    There are three Denon Home powered speakers:
    1. Denon Home 150: www.crutchfield.com/i-rYTVc2D...
    The Denon Home 150 is perfect for smaller spaces, or for using two of them to form a stereo pair. Each speaker has a 3/4" tweeter and a 3-1/2" woofer and makes bigger sound than its small size would suggest.
    2. Denon Home 250: www.crutchfield.com/i-rYTVc2D...
    The Denon Home 250 features two woofers, two tweeters, plus a 5-1/4" passive radiator which means you get a lot more bass than with its little brother.
    3. Denon Home 350: www.crutchfield.com/i-rYTVc2D...
    The Denon Home 350 has two tweeters, two 2" midrange drivers, and two beefy 6-1/2" woofers for real three-way sound.
    One reason the sound quality is so good on the Denon Home series is that no matter how many drivers each speaker has - 2, 4, or 6 - they are all powered by their own dedicated amplifier. This along with an electronic crossover network allows these speakers to play accurately, responsively and deliver balanced sound.
    These speakers are built for streaming music, and you can get music playing on them lots of different ways. First, they all have Denon HEOS capability, so you can add them to your HEOS system and control them with the same app, using your home Wi-Fi network. Using the Wi-Fi you can also send music from your iPhone using Apple Airplay 2. And of course, there is always Bluetooth which will work from any device.
    Denon includes a USB input so you can load up a thumb drive with high-res files if you wish. The Denon Home Series speakers will play files up to 24-bit/192kHz, and also DSD files up to 5.6MHz in resolution.

    A clear and concise video once again.
    Can you confirm that this will be idea paired with my iPhone 8 in the kitchen using DC permanently.
    I just want quality sound at a low volume without a large speaker sitting on a shelf.
    I previously invested (4 years ago ) in the Marshall Stanmore large rectangular speaker which seems larger than ever as I have clutter in my kitchen!
    The Denon 150 seems just the right size, but quality midrange and highs without losing the bass..?
    Many thanks.
    The Like button has been HIT !

      Glad you enjoyed the video Rick. Yes, the Denon Home 150 would be an excellent kitchen speaker. It is small enough to be discrete and not take up too much counter space, but powerful enough to deliver full, rich sound. We say purchase with confidence!

      Crutchfield Thanks for the reply. I actually bought the Bose Revolve Plus from you guys but did not open the box as I saw the Denon soon after.
      I found the demo and videos to show a “tinny” bass frequency response on the updated Revolve + speaker so I believe the Denon 150 will say more...
      As I was doubtful, I believe the Denon would offer a richer deeper bass without losing the mids and highs.
      Am I correct in saying so?
      Thanks again.

    Nice review, just looking at buying into Denon as I've really fallen out of love with the Sonos set up I have. It constantly disconnects and I'm really struggling to get it to work consistently now after years of good service. Just hope Denon don't shaft their customers and force them into buying new speakers.

    Which is better Sonos or Heos I just returned my play one bar, sub and 2 play5 surrounds. Also had 3 Sl zones going. Had multiple problems with consistent connectivity. The Sonos app would not see all my ITUNES library. I’m not trying to complain I loved the idea of Sonos. I even ran CAT6 throughout my house to support the system better. Does this Denon wireless system have these problems I ran into

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 года назад

      Both Sonos and Heos are app based platforms and will therefore rely heavily on Wi-fi. It is a good idea to run direct Ethernet/ CAT6 to the speakers if you can but a good router is still essential for app connectivity and control - especially if you have many Sonos devices. You might consider the Sonos Boost which creates a parallel Wi-fi network for just the Sonos gear - freeing up bandwidth for your other Wi-fi devices and allowing the Sonos gear to run smoother.

    Can multi members of the family have asscess to the app and can they do it at the same time playing differnt choones in different rooms?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 года назад

      You multiple members of the home can use the same HEOS account by signing into each device, with the main account's user name or password. You can also have multiple accounts in the same home, this will give each member of the home access to their own personal streaming apps, playlists, and so forth. Each person with the HEOS app, will have the ability to choose from the connected HEOS speakers, adjust volume, and choose the song being played to their chosen speaker(s).

    I have a Heos sound bar, sub woofer and hoes 7 speaker. When I try to group the for I am facing the following issues one is there is latency between the speaker and sound bar secondly is there a way I can get surround sound. On latency, I have played with the advanced settings in app and reduced it to the minimum setting yet there is latency. Do you think an amp will resolve the issue

      That gear should be able to be configured into a surround sound system and not just grouped together for playback of the same audio. If you purchased your gear from Crutchfield, we recommend calling our technical support for help. We put their toll free phone number on the order invoice. If it was purchased elsewhere and they cannot help, we recommend contacting Denon's support by calling them using 800-497-8921 for the help

    Hello, just wondering Is the sound quality on the 150 better than the Echo Studio?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 года назад

      We have not been able to arrange a demo to compare them but given the design of each, I believe the Echo Studio will sound better if you just get one speaker. I also believe if you can get two of the Denon Home 150 speakers to play as a stereo pair, then this will sound better

      @crutchfield  4 года назад

      Denon has not published the RMS power of each of the separate Class-D amps in their Home Series with HEOS speakers.
      There are some key differences in the Denon Home Series lineup, and the HK Citation series, such as more drivers in the Denon Home, each being powered by their own amp.
      Feel free to contact us to go over these in more detail, we will be happy to help you compare.

      Sorry to hear about these issues. You will need a Google Home or Google Assistant-enabled device (sold separately) to operate your HEOS products via voice-command. And, you'll need to download the Google Home app (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+) onto your compatible smartphone or tablet device to setup and enable Google Assistant Support.
      Your HEOS components and the Google Assistant-enabled device must be on the same network. Make sure the unit has the latest HEOS software and firmware update installed.

    If you love music and like warm and slightly unnatural colored sound, the Denon Home 150 can be recommended. If you plan to use this to listen to radio via a mobile device, you should steer clear. That fate shares it with many other bluethoot speakers. It certainly does not fit. The sound sounds stuffy, heavy and boxy, it is difficult to perceive ordinary speech. A trick can help something. Use a simple radio, and connect it via Jack-plug via the headset output and the radio sound will be quite good.
