Grate video . You shuld do a video on 2.5D // "3D" milling artwork not jot engraving it would be interestin to see how a cnc mill handles milling more organic shapes and what operation go in to it Like say a 2.5D CNC portrait frame and all in aluminum
I've been thinking of engraving text onto the front side of keycaps. This looks like a great technique. Now I just need a "holder" to keep the keycaps at the best angle during engraving.
Excellent video of clear testing in Part 1. Your voice is clear to hear and professional touch in using the CNC. I liked the way you go the extra mile to deburr everytime you finished engraving it - in your 1st part. Generally I would have skipped it being lazy. Is this tool rated for continues duty for engraving or intermitted? I have lots to do. And Life span in terms of miles it can last before becomes unusable.

I want to engrave plastic caps (25x25mm) for 33mm arcade type press switches , designed to be used as an Annunciator Panel for Flight Sim functions. The cap path should be filled with black paint and backlit
nice video, want to try this also. how do you set youre entry point? i like to start from a corner. set this in the setup to lower left at zero. Than start at zero, up the z axis while travel to the start point. cannot get this to work properly. keeps starting at the point fusion sets. thanks !
although it isnt free, im using Corel Draw X8 to setup and export my files to AI version 8 that my lasermark software can interpret (using a 50watt fibre laser)
We have this engraver but the thumb drive with the drivers on it failed. CNC Pro DIY Logo engraver. Does anyone know where we can get the drivers for this?

Fusion 360 is still free for personal hobby use. A few months ago, they added more limitations to the free version, like a $1000/year revenue limit, and no rapids in the POST, but the free version remains a good option for many people.

nice - will give inkscape a go, up to now I have always re-drawn over ttfs with autocad to get a path.
There are lots of great tools out there if you have access to them.

You're welcome. I sometimes use Adobe Illustrator, and there are lots of other options.

Negative stock to leave is fine but axial offset is what you really want to use there :)

If you hit it with a wirewheel after you engrave it on 7075 T6 aluminum, can you still see the engraving?

Brilliant thankyou, my only issue is if I uncheck chamfer it doesn’t generate a Tool Path ! So I select it and set them to 0 must be a Mac Problem 🤔

I'm seeing indications that RUclips is discontinuing that feature. In any case, I see no way to turn it on.
