- The Hoka Clifton 10 is an everyday running shoe designed for comfort and versatility. Priced at $145, it competes with shoes like the Brooks Ghost Max 2 ($150) and the New Balance 880v15. In this video, I give an overview of the Clifton 10, take it out for some miles and give my initial thoughts.

I think you hit the nail on the head about what kind of runners prefer legacy shoe lines. Majority of the people I see wearing Cliftons are hybrid athletes, or primarily lift weights, but run once or twice a week, and also use them for walking around. The kind of people that don't track their shoe mileage, or don't track their runs at all, and will wear them till the soles are damn near falling off. A hobby jogger/runner will find most of these lines too bland and the foams too flat especially compared to what else is out there, often for much better prices.
most hobby joggers or more serious runners i know run in bland shoes from a year or two ago. dont fall for gimmicky marketing stuff thinking you need new fancy foams just because you see yourself at a certain level. 70 dollar eva shoes are just fine. i understand that people get excited by new things and can afford to do so, but it is annoying that the brands play on that and have made 150-200 dollar shoes the norm
Yowana - speaking of memory lane - do you remember the 3 wheeled running stroller ("THE ZOOMER") you rode in as we covered MILAGE all around Lowell back in the day?
Greatest intro ever ❤
If I ever meet Yowana in person, I’m going to request that he speaks in 1.75 speed. Because that’s the only way I know him.
😂
1st full Marry in March I’m still deciding between Puma DNE 3 and Saucony EP4 will probably be running around 3:30-4hrs
dude kudos hahahah... now i see you are part of the 1st videos of newly released shoes i always watched
Haven’t watched the vid yet, but looks like Hoka finally elevating its colorway game.
Hoka and skechers are what brought the joy back to running for me..running doesn't have to be sufferfest..it should be fun..Roni looks so much like her mama you can make a case for clones..😂😂😂😂..a case for pushing a stroller is it's great for strength training..
Had to say Roany broke the internet's cute meter today! SO adorable! 🥰 Lovely addition to today's video!
A few thoughts on the Clifton. You described the appeal of the Clifton as a nostalgic, streamlined, easy to run in shoe perfectly. There's nothing exceptional about it, but that in and of itself is subjective (i.e. it's not exceptional relative to what's available in it's category today, but back when it was first released, it was definitely exceptional relative to the shoes available at that time, even called the "jack of all trades" - Superblast-esque appeal).
I only learned of the Clifton in 2019, and even then people were calling out Hoka for departing too much from what made the original version a big hit. With their performance line up expanding though, your analysis of the Clifton having shifted to more of the designated comfortable/walking/standing/with easy running shoe checks out.
The Skyflow is definitely more running-specific than the Clifton, and the one I would personally pick for my miles. Thanks for the review! 🙌
Great point about the exceptional-ness being subjective! There's something so satisfying about a comfortable shoe that just works. Spoiler alert was not the case for the shoe I used for my long run today 😂
I can't believe that he is running with the baby 🤣
Roni standing on business
Right!! Vanna WHO???
Adorable LITTLE ONE‼️❤️
I just dont get why Hoka couldn't use the same foam that's on the Bondi 9 on the new clifton 10...
Because this is $150 and the Bondi is $170. There is the Skyflow at $160.
I use to run and race in the Clifton,v2-v5 it was my race shoe. Ran my marathon PR in the Clifton 5 in 2018, 3:31, which included the last 5 miles at run/walk because of cramps. After v5 my race shoe became the Carbon X. I still trained I. The Clifton up to v9 which I retired early. Just nothing special about them compared to the new tech in other models. Bondi was same way for me. Up to v5 I loved that shoe and even raced in them. Then it became a non-running shoe to me. I skipped v6 and 7 and tried the 8 and it was terrible. But looks like it’s a 180 on the No do 9 and it’s a runner again. Clifton I’m completely done with because I can’t run in that big of a heel drop. But it’s all good, I have the Skyflow, Mach X2, Skyward X, Rocket X, Cielo X1 and soon to be X1 2.0. So Hoka has plenty of bangers for me
the clifton 9 was my fav shoe for vacations because i could walk all day and do runs without bringing another pair. not keen on the higher drop in the 10's; will cop another pair of 9's when they go on sale 😏
Am still currently on my Clifton 6 that I now use a lot at work and just recently purchased a Clifton 9 GTX/gore tex (was heavily discounted) and had to compare the difference in shape and stack height.. just Wow, the difference from Clifton 6-to-9 is huge.
........walking down memory lane.......
got up early, watched the first half of the video took out the neighbor`s dog for 90 minutes, walking while i watched the sunrise, having breakfast 1 while watching the second half getting ready for a 90 minute Sunday morning run with my son, the Clifton OG on my feet, running a route, i do for more than 20 years, sometimes also with my son, back then when he was a teenager, then i will have breakfast 2, listening to some 70th music, later in the afternoon plan for more family time
.......close enough to perfect for me
Awesome memories. Hope you're getting paid for that part time dog walking gig 😂 or at least get some homemade cookies from the neighbor
Max Cushion Gang Hoodie ordered….Bang💪🏼😎
She’s a cutie, and loves her daddy!!! Oh, great shoe review 😊
38:40, fairly certain Hoka is setting all their pricing to XX0.00 rather than having some be XX5.00 and some not.
Yeah I messed up prices in the video - Clifton is now $150, Skyflow $160, bondi $170
The problem that I have with hoka is that the name is on the side of all their shoes in big letters. Remove the name, and I would consider a pair.
It’s really all about normalizing a new higher $150 price point for everyday running shoes. Doesn’t do anything (maybe less) than what SL2 or Velocity Nitro do for less.
Yowana got a new sidekick
BADA ‼️‼️ BING‼️
Clifton already released in US??
Not yet! It's releasing April 15
Supwell Roany and Reevsie coming 2030
Bang!
EVA !! Still!!?? It’s a No ! Thanks
I think the price went up by $5 and is $150 now
Yes just checked and you are right! This is $150, Skyflow $160 and Bondi $170 - i think I messed up all the prices 😂 thanks for catching that
Going full Matt Klein, with the baby stealing the show.
I think 22 is just a cursed number
Hahaha I love that theory. Maybe it's because 23s have to be fire though. The law of Jordan
I just think the foam is not good. Too stiff and it will surely die after 500k
Booom with the missing BNAG!!!!!
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
@supwell just got done with my long with my 10 year old son we got it 15.27 8:53 pace make some shorts cheek me out bro
@@fuelup7504 love it man 🙌🏽 and shorts are coming for sure at some point
overpriced trash, not better than an 80 $ shoe, all hype not for me.
There is literally no hype around this shoe lol
@@midgetworld228Disagree. Here in Atlanta, this shoe is still everywhere. Brand and shoe hugely popular here.

...ahhh, they are still using that CMEVA. I can't do it.., the durability and life of the CMEVA, just doesn't work for me. t
he only Clifton I had a few years ago died after about 100 miles, or so. maybe that is due to the force I put down into the shoe, and my weight.
great overview.., you hit all the points, as always..
