I’m so happy to see Max looking so well and enjoying himself out there. He has a lovely temperament. Matt you are a wonderful owner and your love for Max shines bright. Trainer and all his staff are very special. I look forward to your next video and I wish Max the best. I will definitely be following him. Greetings from California ❤
Max is great, a real gentleman. So pleased to see him looking so well after his mistake at Warwick Racecourse. Thanks for watching and leaving a message. All the very best
Good to watch he's fine, I'm enjoying the behind the scenes stuff, Look forward to seeing him go back over the hurdles and get his confidence and to enjoy it.
Great podcast, we finished one place ahead of Max at Newbury last season with Imperial Saint. We are now rated 138 and 2/2 in chases, so I’m sure your horse will shoot up the ratings once he gets his jumping sorted. Best of luck this season, I will keep an eye out for him.
Max looks really well . Also he was enjoying himself on the gallops , and i reckon he could easily win his next race over hurdles from the video today .
Max looks great on this latest video. Would agree that a confidence boost over hurdles seems to be the right way to go and progress from there. Would it be so bad to pursue a hurdling career if the big fences are a problem ?
Thanks for the message. He has some very nice hurdles form so it wouldn’t be a major problem but I personally feel he will be better over a fence. Too early to tell, he is a Novice over Fences but he must learn from the mistake. Time will tell . Thanks again
Great content Matt , Roger comes across as a real nice man but he is not known as a chase trainer I reluctantly think Max would have better schooling at a specialist jumps yard
Thanks for getting in contact and sharing your views. Don’t forget Roger was a Jumps Jockey years ago and his son (Harry) also over jumps. The mistake was Max fault. He has been doing plenty of work with his feet in pre training and will be schooling plenty when the time comes to jump a fence again. Roger is known as a flat trainer but can do either. Time will tell. All the very best 👍
I so agree with you. Whilst he advertises as dual purpose, Rogers nh record is really abysmal. Flat record is semi decent granted. There are many nh trainers in that catchment area as well
@ Roger is a decent enough trainer for the flat, he is not a great trainer ( greats are rare) , however for the jumps he is a terrible trainer. 0/8 last 5 seasons in bumpers, 2/17 in chases and 3/55 in hurdles is not confidence inspiring, surely even you have to agree with that. Two of those hurdles wins came from one horse Kamaxos and this guy had potential as a novice. Recently Kamaxos appears a shadow of himself, not sure what is wrong with him. Top rated 128 and probably the big gun of his jumping stock. You definitely need to change trainer for him unless you fancy a career on the flat with him
@ thanks Jack. Good points made and good research 🧐 . I appreciate stats do not lie but Max was produced and ran to form last year including a £35,000 handicap at Sandown. Next run is key…. No he is not fast enough for the flat these days. Thanks for being part of my journey.
Plumpton given the way he jumps is a disaster waiting to happen. Course is too tough for a horse that jumps badly. It could be he is careful, timid as regards chase fences, that makes them cautious. However some top chasers had that caution. Zetas Lad favorite for the postponed national that was run on a Monday, Scudamore test rode them and said cautious and careful, will definitely take care of himself and his jockey but Aintree big greens don’t suit caution. NH yard is what he needs
Great to see Max looking so well.Just out of interest. Do they ever do gymnastic jumping with him like the showjumper/eventers do to get him thinking about how he jumps.. I know it's become more common within racing.
@@Lisanisky thank you for getting in contact. Max did lots of work with feet in pre-training and does practice jumping at home. Nothing like jumping in a race. It’s the races where they learn the most. All the best 👍

New favourite channel love the content I’m invested in max after watching 2 episodes 😂 hope he turns a corner
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment .
He just needs to get right, See what went wrong and start again.
Hope we see him at Plumpton?
NH people are so much nicer than flat.
@@stephenholmes1036 thanks for the message. Not sure Plumpton would suit him but you never know. Thanks again
If you bring him to Plumpton over fences wait till he has mastered fences.
Plumpton has hard fences on a undulating
ground.
Thanks
