They are there to ensure a decent pace, For any horse to benefit by slipstreaming the one in front They to be directly behind the horse in front, exactly 1.5L Frankel has proven in quite a few races that he didn't need a pace maker. BT was the so-called pacemaker, in just 4 races BTW Every race in history, pitting one against the other, in any sport in the world, has or had a pacemaker. It's who's leading the race at that moment in time 🤣
@protarget1 if the trai er never thi k that the pacemaker can help the horse then they wouldn't have used one..if every other competitors in the race had decided to slow down the pace,because they knew that Frankel loved a strong pace to come off then probably we would have had different results in most of those races!u talking crap
