    In 2001 Nate Hybl won a qb competition against Jason White. A few games into the season he was replaced during a game for Jason. White would lead the Sooners into a big game against Nebraska, but during the game Jason tore his ACL and Hybl would reclaim his postion as qb and lead Sooners to their first Cotton Bowl game. A win against Arkansas. So as long as Jackson stays connected he still might have role to play for the outcome of this season. FYI, the next season Hybl would lose the qb battle to Jason White; but once again White would tear his ACL and Hybl would come and lead OU to its first Rose Bowl game. A beat down of Washington State. Nate was the first qb to win two Bowl games for Stoops. To this day he is the only OU qb to be undefeated in Bowl games this century.

      Damian Mackey talked about this just the other day. He said it wasn't a true or fair qb competition back then at all or JW would hv been the starter from day 1. He alluded to the same dynamic going on today w ja and Hawk coming in as the new kid. The staff just stuck w ja bc he was already planned to be the guy, but hawk has been consistently outplaying ja in practice since fall according to DMack.

    Someone needs to sit Jackson Arnold down and have him (seriously) review the incredible journey of Jalen Hurts - which has become one of the greatest sports stories of the past 10 years. Additionally, Hurts (being Sooner brethren) will be available to advise and support Jackson. The absolutely incredible life lesson which Hurts showed the sports world was the irrefutable fact that having faith in one's own self and ability, exuding integrity and humility, being a dedicated TEAM player (regardless of the circumstance), and remaining mentally and physically prepared - WILL absolutely end in a successful outcome. Jalen Hurts fell from a much higher perch on the national college football stage than Jackson Arnold has (being benched at Alabama - in the NC Game no doubt!!). However, Hurts remained a dedicated, committed, and humble TEAM player. His attitude never changed. This (rare) approach earned him a second chance at glory (OU) - which he made good on. Look at him now - 4th yr NFL QB (max-contract) who's already been to a Super Bowl. How 'bout them apples !!!

    Hey Fellow Sooner Fans! Have Faith in BV as our HC. He turned our D around and now that he knows his side of the ball is Elite, he has luxury for the first time in his tenure at OU to turn his eye to the offense. Seth has a good scheme but is asking way to much of his young QBs. Not to mention the O-line and WRs thrust into action due to injury. BV is going to get Seth on the same page by pairing down the Offense. I think BV was giving Serh a long leash up to this point to get the offense humming but given Seths inability to weigh the limitations i just outlined, Seth will be given direct instruction on what to take out if his Sceme... for now. Thats a good thing! Thats what good HCs do. So let's let BV handle his staff moving forward. I think we will see quick results.

    I have said it for two years now, get rid of the RPO’s and inside zone running schemes. They have only hurt us and put us behind the chains. Get a play sheet like other great OC’s and redact those plays off the sheet. That’s for starters, find people that want to block on the perimeter as bad as they want the ball, Kanak was a stud offensive player wonder if he don’t need a shot at tightend.

    How about dropping the RPO a good part of the time. QB’s warm up practicing handing off every play then throwing. Call the plays, don’t keep receivers guessing. If the play breaks down the QB runs. Don’t run RPO on 3rd and 8. Stop talking about stats every week on national rank in turnovers, TFL, yardage on kicking. It matters but if we are getting our ass beat nobody cares about stats! Talk about we can’t ever convert on 3rd down. Talk about maybe according to some, fall camp is a meat grinder and takes a toll on players in middle of the season just like Smitty said 2 years ago . Nic Anderson May never be very healthy, Rodney was never healthy long. Hoover no one can hear questions.

    • @Kahndumz
      @Kahndumz 3 месяца назад

      yeah clearly RPO's are killing us, here and there is ok but the ENTIRE offense is based on it and we cannot run worth a shit so its just more confusion for everyone else involved.

    Coach you need to fire your offensive coordinator. That was the worse offensive performance I have ever seen out an Oklahoma team. On the flip side of the coin your defense played lights out. They hand the ball to the offense on the Vols 5-yard-line and on the first play that offense hand it right back to Tennessee. The reason I would part ways with the OC is Jackson Arnold. Is he on scholarship? If he is I would fire the offensive coordinator tomorrow.

  • @PassportBroHacks
    @PassportBroHacks 3 месяца назад +1

    Based on Hawkins Jr.'s stats playing two quarters during the Tennessee game, if we copy those to the first three games and to Future games too, here is what his stats would have or could look like.🤭
    .
    Now on the stats I gave him two touchdowns for TN game, since the referees took away the one that was 2 inches short, which was bullshit. But this would balance out anyways since the first three opponents were powder cake teams somewhat. I am just trying to get a "general idea" as to what his stats could have looked like or would look like based on what he has done during the two quarters against Tennessee, which the experts claim is a national championship caliber defense:
    .
    - Passing yards: 3,168
    - Rushing yards: 528
    - TDs: 48
    - Pass completion %: 70
    - Turnovers: 0
    🤔😆🤷😲💪
