I definitely can respect that because he truly is an amazing man and coach so I totally understand your feelings we felt that way when he left our program and went to Clemson he made sure we didnt do well against Clemson thats is a fact.
From a Michigan fan I really like this guy. Great hire for the U. of Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley did his players dirty. Brent Venables is a true players coach.
Brent Venables is a class act. A fine example of what a man and coach should be. Clemson lost a great coach. OU has gained a great coach. From a third generation Sooner grad that has attended over 350 OU football games. Welcome back Coach Venables. BOOMER!
to be etched on the statue of BV, " We will employ a fast, exciting, explosive and diverse offense combined with physical, punishing, relentless and sufficating defense and imma love them more"
An Illinoisan who has always been an Oklahoma fan (except when playing one of my Alma Maters, Texas Tech), I believe O.U. May well have come out the winner. I suspect that Coach Brent Venables will bring the ability to build character, teach defense at the highest level, and inspire offense and defense that works in tandem. After retiring from a top 50 university after 30 years, I acknowledge the only thing missing was football. I got to see great basketball, but I always tuned into Texas Tech and OU. If you don’t love Brent Venables, if you do not think you actually won the coaching wars, then I feel sorry for you, because you just do not understand what the greatest of all coaches bring to the table. John Wooden, the greatest basketball coach in history, had these same values. I am even more dedicated to finding a way to make an OU game this coming year! :)
So happy for Coach Jimmy Greenbeans but so sad to see him leave. Sounds like he is gonna run his program like Dabo and that is so awesome! He's gonna be great at his job!!
Just watched stoops retirement video and then Riley’s taken the job and now just watched BV! This is gangster! Let’s go baby! BV winning a title this year! Boomer! I feel it!
Coach V you should have never been given the choice to leave, however you’re back better than ever. You have support from the Sooner Nation that the other one never had.
@@JasonWilliams4959 I agree with you some people can’t speak and I’m sure he is nervous af but I think once on the field may take a year with all that has transpired but hopefully will get our program on track
Well, when you have no secondary, then they pass all over the D and run up the score. It's been over a decade since OU has actually had a decent secondary. Hopefully he can hire a great DC that understands what a Secondary does!
Oh boy one takes the time to talk to everyone he works with about it first and the other doesn't. It's also like one is a traditional and predictable move and the other isn't. It's like one isn't trying to poach staff and player to take with him too isn't it? Wow, someone who has declined several head coaching offers at other universities decided to take one after talking it over with his coworkers and informing his players. It's like it would have been understandable if he moved for a several million dollars extra a year, a better position, and to return to the university he started at. Instead, he did everything right before leaving and he did not have too.
Idiot. It's all about HOW it was done. One slithered out of town after spending five months pretending to coach the Sooners when he was already a Trojan. The other, this one, changed jobs openly and above board after speaking with the appropriate figures at Clemson and OU. You're not a genius.
Coaches leave all the time. It’s not about Riley leaving. It’s about how he left. He threw the bedlam game because he said he had to be in California for early signing. Prove me wrong. He said he found out Sunday morning yet his assistants were recruiting for USC on OU’s dime prior - illegally I might add. Venables trip was delayed while he said goodbye to his team properly. The two teams were the first one to know. Riley had to be forced into saying goodbye and was with them for two minutes before he ran out. You will notice that Clemson fans aren’t angry. There’s a reason behind that. This move was done right.
There is sound. It is possible RUclips muted it automatically and you need to pause it and unmute it manually at the video source, and not on your device. It happens to me alot for some reason. I guess it's the geniuses at RUclips making things better (sarcasm 😆).
Oklahoma comes out of this looking solid gold with a head coach upgrade AND getting one with class and integrity. Thank you usc!
hahaha actually ou fans come out as pitiful and hypocritical. it is not ok for riley to leave ou but it is ok for veneble to leave clemson?

It’s amazing to see the difference between the first welcoming and speech for Venables at OU and Riley at USC.
Glad OU fans are so happy…poached one of our best assets at Clemson
Payback?
He was a Sooner first lol. Hey Texas shhhhh
@@southern4835 yeah but Sooners threw him to the curb
@@alexdwyer7677 not so much a Sooners throwing him to the curb. He just didn't want to share the defense job with Mark Stoops. And I understand that.
Clemson Tigers will sure miss you Coach! Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors. And as always, Go Tigers!!!

You can really tell how much he has grown as a person since he's been gone. I'm incredibly impressed with this man. I'd love to play for this man.
Dabo did that to and for him, yall got a fantastic guy and coach. Congrats, treat him well!!
He hit it out of the park with that speech.
He’s definitely our guy. Ready to work towards Sooner legend status!
