    Brent Venables is a class act. A fine example of what a man and coach should be. Clemson lost a great coach. OU has gained a great coach. From a third generation Sooner grad that has attended over 350 OU football games. Welcome back Coach Venables. BOOMER!

    An Illinoisan who has always been an Oklahoma fan (except when playing one of my Alma Maters, Texas Tech), I believe O.U. May well have come out the winner. I suspect that Coach Brent Venables will bring the ability to build character, teach defense at the highest level, and inspire offense and defense that works in tandem. After retiring from a top 50 university after 30 years, I acknowledge the only thing missing was football. I got to see great basketball, but I always tuned into Texas Tech and OU. If you don’t love Brent Venables, if you do not think you actually won the coaching wars, then I feel sorry for you, because you just do not understand what the greatest of all coaches bring to the table. John Wooden, the greatest basketball coach in history, had these same values. I am even more dedicated to finding a way to make an OU game this coming year! :)

    • @carterstrain9951
      @carterstrain9951 3 года назад +4

      Oh boy one takes the time to talk to everyone he works with about it first and the other doesn't. It's also like one is a traditional and predictable move and the other isn't. It's like one isn't trying to poach staff and player to take with him too isn't it? Wow, someone who has declined several head coaching offers at other universities decided to take one after talking it over with his coworkers and informing his players. It's like it would have been understandable if he moved for a several million dollars extra a year, a better position, and to return to the university he started at. Instead, he did everything right before leaving and he did not have too.

    • @morningsminion3242
      @morningsminion3242 3 года назад +4

      Idiot. It's all about HOW it was done. One slithered out of town after spending five months pretending to coach the Sooners when he was already a Trojan. The other, this one, changed jobs openly and above board after speaking with the appropriate figures at Clemson and OU. You're not a genius.

    • @robinpalmer5260
      @robinpalmer5260 3 года назад +4

      Coaches leave all the time. It’s not about Riley leaving. It’s about how he left. He threw the bedlam game because he said he had to be in California for early signing. Prove me wrong.
      He said he found out Sunday morning yet his assistants were recruiting for USC on OU’s dime prior - illegally I might add.
      Venables trip was delayed while he said goodbye to his team properly. The two teams were the first one to know. Riley had to be forced into saying goodbye and was with them for two minutes before he ran out.
      You will notice that Clemson fans aren’t angry. There’s a reason behind that. This move was done right.
