  • In this video, I'm speaking Italian only. this video was made to show those of you who are learning Spanish that you can learn a language as an adult. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you do have to put in the work to get some type of results. I made a lot of mistakes in this video, so when I upload another one, hopefully they will be fixed. For now Enjoy and be inspired!

    I love it! Just trying to learn another language is a flex in itseld so you should be proud. I don't speak italian but I can understand because I understand spanish. What i observed is you still have a bit of your spanish accent in italian and the rhythm is different in italian. Always inspiring to watch your videos

    Bravissimo!

    Idk Italian but you sound pretty darn good to me. I notice there are many words that are similar to Spanish. I've heard similarities in French & Portuguese as well, which I would've thought would make it easier.

      Hola! Estoy tratando de aprender más español y una de las cosas que me cuesta mucho es el subjuntivo. Porque usaste el subjuntivo en la segunda oración? Fue porque no estabas seguro que la próxima idioma aprenderías sería italiano? Sé que usamos el subjuntivo cuando hay incertidumbre, pero no estoy segura con esto. Gracias :)

    So if you aren’t using english or spanish to learn how do you use the dictionary to help? Wouldn’t it be reading more unknown words since you wouldn’t have a understanding of anything unless it had pictures or some form of context.

    •  8 месяцев назад +3

      Yep! I go down a rabbit hole of looking up words until I see something that I recognize. It's a long process, but it's worth it. When I speak in Italian, I think in Italian instead of translating something else.
      Sometimes I look up images. Other times I use context clues.
      I started of read baby books then kids books.
      If they can do it, so can I. 💪🏾

    • @karmajin4697
      @karmajin4697 8 месяцев назад

      @ so how did you create a base to even be able to find one word you understood?I know Spanish and Italian are cousin languages,so did you maybe notice a word that was also in Spanish and start from there or what?(I really want to try this approach with Spanish but it seems intimidating)

    •  8 месяцев назад

      @@karmajin4697 Listening over and over again. Using images to build a base, watching shows and seeing context. It definitely take ALOT of repetition before it kicks in. When I started last Jan. It felt impossible for 2 weeks, but if you push through, things start to click. You hear certain words very often and start to guess the meaning and sometimes the guesses are right. Other times, they are wrong, but you figure it out later. Check out my 3 month update to see how I learn new words. It took a while. But I did it. You can too. You just gotta jump in 💪🏾

    I hear some Spanish words in there. Similarities. What language is the most similar to Spanish besides English?

    • @ohitzwavy7173
      @ohitzwavy7173 8 месяцев назад

      All Romance languages(English as well just due to loaned words) will have a lot of similarities. So I wouldn’t say there’s one the most similar however i will say this out of all Romance languages French is the most different in terms of pronunciation just due to homophones and silent letters, but if you was to see the word written then a RL speaker could guess its meaning. and In turn this also means a lot of creole languages you can find a lot of similarities as well. Grammar is obviously different for example the subjunctive in Spanish is used way more than it is in Italian.

      Out of the major 6 romance languages: Portuguese is the most similar to Spanish in terms of vocabulary. Catalan is next, and then Italian.
      All romance languages are closer to spanish than English is
