@ i think you just have a lisp so it sounds like an accent but you have a normal American accent with a lisp. except for when you say "planes" 😆
it's a great accomplishment you've achieved to master another language with all the distractions around. I'm a little older than you, so it's a little harder for me, but you have inspired me to learn Spanish.
Why is it harder because you're older? I beg to differ. I spoke with a 70 year old who is currently learning his 20th language my friend. Don't limit yourself based on the number of your years 💪🏾
Bro. Proud of you man. I made a similar move in 2010. Decided to step out on faith and left my 9-5 for a entrepreneurial pursuit for 8 years. Wasn’t always easy but God provided along the way. I was able to do a lot of things that my other friends and family couldn’t because I had more FLEXIBILITY. Not that I was a millionaire, but I was able to be at every one of my kids events , doc appts etc. I’m glad you speak up about your relationship with Christ. Welcome to the 30’s. I just completed 39 years on the 7th of December and am looking at 40. New perspectives, new dreams. I Pray God fulfills his will in your life Philippians 1:6. Much love bro from Louisiana. Last bit, I was just in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena the last 2 weeks. Loved it bro 🇨🇴

First all, Ricky its pretty dope that you are sharing this. I've been subscribed for awhile now, Ive enjoyed your videos as I am on my personal journey of learning Spanish. It is a passion of mine as well. Looking forward to what you will be working on. As far as DR, Yea pray and listen to God, and know what matters to you and see how life would be there, like you said by talking to another American who lives there, maybe also find out the challenges of being unvaccinated there and how that would effect the quality of life. And how their hospital system runs there. I have looked a bit into PR's hospitals and I didnt hear many good things. Maybe stay for a month or two and see if you like the life there. If not you can always come back. Best wishes!
Thanks TJ! I appreciate that and your long time support! There is definitely a lot to consider, but I won't make any decisions until God gives me peace about it. In 2013 my plan was to move to PR and I'm glad I didn't with all the crazy hurricanes and earthquakes. So I know better than to just go because I want to. Good luck with PR though. It's still a beautiful place and if you go to the right spot, you won't even really be effected by the tropical storms and all.
As someone that is vaccinated, I still understand why someone would be apprehensive. I don't think it should be mandated to become vaccinated. But still stay safe, its good to see someone chasing their dreams.
Exactly. To me it's a violation of freedom, but it its what it is. I like your view on it even as a vaccinated individual. I have nothing against the vaxed vs the unvaxed. just take precautions y ya.

Hey sir, I agree with your sentiment even though I am a traditional Catholic. One should not have to risk side effects from a jab in favor of a job. Many relatives of mine had adverse side effects, as far as I could tell, I had a mild RONA infection and got over it quite well. Mexico to me seems like a free country in terms of this whole medical thing and their temporary residence program is easy to obtain. ¡Que Dios te bendiga!
Rick. . . interesting how you are a native English speaker, yet at the 7:50 marker in the video you mention that you do not know how to say ''me apasiona'' in English. As a native English speaker with a decent Spanish fluency, I completely understand. At times, I forget words in English and also Spanish slips out when I am speaking with an all-English audience. It is refreshing to hear how this happens to other bilinguals. I think these occurrences are not easily understand by ''some'' monolinguals.

Awesome move !!! I speak some Spanish, but not fluently. I've been considering the D.R. move for a few years since visiting there, and I have family connections. I travel for work and my birthdays in January too... God is the source for believers, don't worry for anything then. I look forward to lessons.

Your choice of course but we lost RUclipsr Yusef Watif (the brother that did expat relocation services to Brazil), he died from Covid severa months ago and here in the UK, many black and ethnic minorities died from Covid or survived from it with long Covid because they weren’t vaccinated. Hey me alegra mucho saber que tengas ganas de conocer mi pais. Llevo viendo tus videos por mas de un año y los usé mucho para inspirar a mis estudiantes cuando enseñaba Español. Es muy inteligente de tu parte consultar con una experta antes de mudarte. Si puedo recomendarte algo, es que también veas los videos de Educated Travel en YT. Él es un expat (creo que es de los EEUU) que lleva mucho tiempo viviendo aqui y hace documentales y asesoría sobre nuestro país. Como dominicano, he notado que él explica de forma muy realista lo que se siente vivir aqui y cómo es nuestra sociedad. Él habla de lo bueno y lo malo. Creo que sus videos te pueden dar una visión mas aterrizada/down to earth, de cómo es la vida de un expat aqui, junto con consejos muy útiles. Bendiciones!!

Your life will be much better for it and the benefits of that example for your family and others are more significant than you will be able to comprehend.
In DR we need to show the vaccination card at large place (supermarket, cinema, etc...) or if someone don't want to be vaccinated they need to show a covid test every week. I think it's more relaxed in tourist places.

Because your life and the lives around you have value, I truly hope you do some more research on vaccines and consider how severe cases of COVID-19 are overwhelmingly among unvaccinated people. I hope you consider how m-rna vaccines can be produced safely and quickly. I hope you value the lives of vulnerable people around you to who are at much higher risk if they are exposed.
