@Caleb I've been a fan of the channel since it started because it's amazing how much someone can teach themselves. Even Ricky is still learning. There's ALWAYS more to learn. Why are you so worried about my journey? Focus on yours ✌

I was watching a soap and a guy was telling someone to get out. First he said '¡Lárgate!' Then he reiterated it but the second time he said "Te me largas" im so confused. How does this translate? Is it "Get away from me"? Please help!

Isn’t te me largas : you leave me
With me being the direct object and te being indirect object

@@essjay3051 This is a native format that is used when you mean business. When you are really scolding someone or telling them to do something again. It means the same thing as lárgate, but is more emphasized. Both mean get away from me / leave me.

@@JackDicaprio technically yes but in this context, it's a command. Refer to the response that I left before this one.

THANK YOU FOR THISSS!!!!! I’ve been having such a hard time breaking past beginner level conversational Spanish because of this concept. I’ve asked so many Spanish speakers about how/when to use le/la/lo and none could really explain. This video breaks it down so well and I loved that you gave practice sentences to let us figure it out before you gave the answer. I’m so excited to take what I’ve learned from this video and advance my Spanish speaking skills!!!

This video is going to help my students a lot. There is just one little problem, that they probably won't notice but maybe it will help you to know. On the chart on what the direct object pronoun replaces, it doesn't replace a mí, a ti, etc. The a is not a personal a here, it's a prepositional phrase that equals the indirect object pronoun. The direct object takes the place of a noun. I probably wouldn't have known all this just from speaking but I had a student who teased it all out!
