    Former Vis user: LOVED THE RESULTS!!!! Some tips: Definitely comply with amount of time you wear the aligners and USE YOUR CHEWIES!!!
    To keep clean: Hydrogen peroxide: I would soak them (small plastic "Tupperware" type container) in straight H2O2 when I removed them in the morning to eat or have coffee. Then brush them before I put them back in. Also, I still do this with my retainers in the morning. I found those tablets were a waste of money and didn't clean as well as the hydrogen peroxide.
    I was in my 60's when I started the treatment. One of the best decisions I ever made. My trays were changed weekly and I had discomfort with only the 2nd tray. My treatment plan was supposed to be 32 weeks but then the world went nuts with the 19 and it was extended another 6 mths.
    Had IPR on one tooth and it was nothing, seriously. I was nervous but felt nothing.
    I wear my retainers every night- I worked too hard to get these straight, I'm not going to ruin it now. I think in 2 years I forgot maybe 4 times.

    Tip; you can also get fixed retainers after the treatment (if it involved mainly your front teeth). It's just a thin wire attached to the back of your front teeth. Dentist does it once. It's much easier and less work, doesn't feel like a life-long commitment. I think Invisalign doesn't push this option, because they prefer to sell you aligners for the rest of your life ;)

    • @thelessiknowthebetter9072
      @thelessiknowthebetter9072 Год назад +1

      This sadly isn't an option for anyone. I have only been able to get the fixed retainer on my lower teeth, on my upper teeth there is not enough space. So wearing braces for life it is.

    • @lunaledlow6945
      @lunaledlow6945 11 месяцев назад +9

      I’ve heard permanent retainers can be bad for your oral health as you can’t floss properly and food gets stuck in the wiring causes more cavities

    • @Trickytrickify
      @Trickytrickify 10 месяцев назад +5

      That wire will be hard to clean and will accumulate gunk ending up in bad caries, wearing retainer every night is not that bad

    • @bathedinshadow
      @bathedinshadow 9 месяцев назад +1

      Personally, I would never want fixed retainers. It's a pain to floss and you can see them. My friend has a retainer behind her bottom front teeth and I can clearly see it when she laughs. She says she often doesn't floss properly because she doesn't always have the threader around and that even when she does, she tends to get plaque build up regardless.

    Please go to an Orthodontist (specialist) and not a general dentist for Orthodontic treatment. I wish i knew the difference between the two. @@michellesutherland9078 Yes, invisalign produces the plan, the difference between a General Dentist and an Orthodontist in this matter- the Ortho knows how to change the plan if it is not correct for the patient, especially if they identify a problem. General dentists have little knowledge of Ortho in its entirety. I had gaps, food packing, bad contouring. The Ortho i found sorted all these issues out. The level of knowledge he had, compared to the Dentist was just on another level. I couldn't believe it, which i why i feel people need to know the difference.
      Any General Dentist who says otherwise is just profiting, which is fine, that is the culture we live in. What i find amusing is, there seems to be some Dentists who are defensive on this subject matter, if you're insecure, go and study extra years so that it benefits the patient.

    • @sonasp1961
      @sonasp1961 4 месяца назад +1

      @@michellesutherland9078 The Ortho knows how to identify problems and change the plan VS General dentist, who is given the plan and follows it to a T: because they don't understand Ortho to it's entirety. I had gaps, bad contouring, pathology that were missed. When i found the Orthodontist, i couldn't believe the difference between the two. It was like choosing to drive a Clio vs a Ferrari. General Dentists get defensive about these comments, but if they are so insecure - then go and study some more years so that it benefits the patient and themselves, rather than doing short courses so that they profit quicker. There's a difference.

    💡 Dr. Nate discusses 10 important things to know before getting Invisalign treatment, including pain management and wearing schedule.
    00:10
    Pain management tips for discomfort during Invisalign treatment
    Invisalign recommends wearing aligners regularly for predictable results
    ⚙ The video explains the process of bonding attachments to teeth, the use of IPR, and the simplicity of the treatment process.
    01:49
    The process of bonding attachments to teeth is similar to putting on braces or any other dental material, involving etching, bonding, and curing.
    IPR, or interproximal reduction, may be needed to reduce black triangles between teeth or create space for crowded teeth to fit naturally.
    🦷 The video explains the importance of properly labeling and wearing Invisalign aligners, and the lifelong commitment to wearing retainers after treatment.
    03:33
    Each aligner is clearly marked with the patient number and aligner number to avoid mixing them up.
    At the end of Invisalign treatment, retainers are provided as a lifelong commitment, initially worn 24/7 for three months and then every night for about two years.

    I'm the guy who's gonna tell you the truth, Invisalign sucks you can't eat whenever you want, it taste like shit when you take them off in the morning even if you brushed your teeth and flossed after your last meal, it's annoying you can't feel your teeth, and people will always offer you stuff and you got to reject it because then you will have to take them off to eat then brush your teeth and floss, your jaw hurts because you can't fully close your mouth and Invisalign is supposed to be invisible but everyone will know you have them trust me lol i think i should of went with braces because i don't have to worry about taking them off, plus it takes the same time to floss your teeth with braces because you still got to brush floss and then still clean your aligners, so if anyone thinks on getting aligners take that into consideration. if you think that won't bother you go for it. I still think I should of went with braces that way I eat whenever I want or drink whatever I want, also with aligners your supposed to drink only water because one you can stain them and second you have a higher chance of getting cavities cuz the sugar stays trapped in there with your teeth... Good luck on your Invisalign journey guys I hope for the best and take that into consideration.. one more thing Invisalign you can just quit you just stop wearing them braces you got to go through with it all the way unless you go to the dentist and tell them to take them off
