    Recently did my e46 ,Front coil overs fitted fine moved the allan bolt in no grinding needed in front . As for the rear adjustable shock absorbers i used Holden Commodore pre ve adjustable shock absorbers changed the bmw parts over to them. Commodore shocks have a longer shock body and have more stroke so can set them up properly i run the adjustable plates on the springs as well and it sits low tucken tyre nearly on rim

    Nice job mate. How have you gotten on with the drop links? I keep having issues with mine breaking so I am assuming the theres too much tension on one side at the front.
    Do you remember what the standard distance was between the end of the anti roll bar and wishbone?

    HI Adam, wanted to thank you so much for doing this video as i am about to get the Maxpeeding rods for my BMW e92 320 D m Sport, the other day i watched a video by an Australian who encountered the same problem of the strut not being long enough! He informed customer service of Maxpeeding and they sent him out a longer barrel to screw onto too?

    • @AdamLetter
      @AdamLetter  Год назад

      Really? That's interesting, I mean preloaded has to be added to the rear spring anyway but a longer rear would be good I guess but I'm not sure hownitnwould change the ride height maybe? They actually just recently came out with a new and improved coilover so maybe those will be better

  • @nathan_dan1el

    Have you had any problem’s running the rear shocks with only
    50mm of thread? I didn’t want to compress the spring too much by shortening the shock

    • @AdamLetter
      @AdamLetter  Год назад

      No zero issues I actually run less than that now I contacted the company direct asking what the minimum amount of threads were required I can't remember off the top of my head but its in the video where I raise the car back up a bit

    • @AdamLetter

      Minimum of 30mm of threads have to be in the base of the strut

    • @AdamLetter

      That's the longest U can have the strut and it still seems too short haha but that's how I have it and it rides nice

    Hey mate I’m having issues with mine making a really loud clunking sound from the front when turning. I don’t think it’s the end links, and I’m still on stock wheels but I reckon I’m rubbing too. Some people have said it may be a preload issue but I adjusted the preload right I thought. Any advice or have yours had any of the same issues? Cheers

    • @AdamLetter
      @AdamLetter  2 года назад

      I have not no sorry I would go through and nut and bolt check the entire coilover and also make sure everything is set right. How did you set your preload? General rule of thumb is tighten til the spring stops moving then Add another "thickness of the C snapper" which is generally 4/5mm. And yes next step would be end links I adjusted mine to sit same position as stock in relative distance from the bottom mounting point of the coilovers. I hope that helps you 😊

      @toughie2722 2 года назад

      @@AdamLetter Thanks for the reply man, turns out it was the stock wheels hitting the struts. Fixed with spacers now. The preload should be alright in the fronts but ive got those spring mounts in at the rear which give it way too much preload, keen to take them out after ive passed roady.

    • @AdamLetter
      @AdamLetter  2 года назад

      Yeah they are good aye, like no they don't ride like hsds but they ride way better than stock and obviously sits way better. I would so it again if I had the choice. BUT I will probably eventually upgrade once I get the the tail end of the build when I'm runni g a better motor and gearbox etc
