I think a great strategy is not to first focus on whether Jesus is God or not, but is he created or not. Learn how to refute "Firstborn" in Colossians 1, "Only-begotten son" in John 3, "Beginning of the creation of God" in Revelation 3, and Proverbs 8. Once you study them, they are very easy to refute. If they have an ounce of intellectual honesty, that will really make them start questioning their trust in the Watchtower organization.

Spot on friend! You speak the truth and it makes me smile! Just for the record, seven day Adventist do not believe in a great apostasy. There is a book, the great controversy, that speaks about early faith and the history of Christian faith. They have the foundational beliefs not to make any sweeping denunciations of other denominations. By this I mean, they believe that there are sheep and other folds to be called out of Babylon… Seven day Adventist know that professed Christians all around the world worship God and love him with the light that they are given.

You’ve touched on this already, but the mentioning of 144000 from all the 12 tribes of Israel, and the battle of Armageddon being at the ACTUAL place of Megiddo. I’m coming from a JW perspective where all things Israel/Jew related has been spiritualised because they need the Jews in God’s plan to have been done away with now and forever and that the 144000 Jehovah’s Witness leaders are the spiritual Israelites here now on the earth. Interesting topic. 👍🏽

The sabbath is on my list, since sooo many sects, cults, and group have that belief. I’ll say this as a teaser, though the video might be while, the sabbath is Saturday, but Christians are never commanded to worship on the sabbath. Not even the Jews were commanded to worship on the sabbath, as it’s a day of rest, meant for man. 9 out of the 10 of the commandments are listed in the NT, but sabbath is left out, because now we’ve entered into the sabbath with Christ’s defeat of death. Sunday we worship as the Lord’s day, when he rose from the grave, but I’ll go into much greater detail later.

A total apostasy of all Christians cannot happen. To get there, you have to ignore the fact that some and many are used in every warning. You have to believe that the devil is more powerful than GOD making him able to destroy the church. What the Jehovah's Witnesses don't realize is that if Satan destroy the church as the they are so desperate to believe, he can easily do it again.

I read these two verses as he came as Jesus Christ and stayed for 33 years and the Christians had to believe this fact.
I had always believed in “the great apostasy”, but now I have to ask, who have the truth as a denomination. I for one don’t believe in any denomination after the early church, the great apostasy, because its impossible according to for instance Galatians 5:18 saying
“But if ye be led of the spirit, ye are not under the law.”
It’s of cause the control from our own spirit according to the context.
A denomination without any law or commandment is impossibly or ridiculous to maintain. We are on our own as kings. Revelation 1:6; 5:10.

@@bourbon_sketcher You are right that God's spirit can work in us or with us, but I think it's of utmost importance to realize that some of us are spirits.
Interestingly you mention Romans. Look up 1:9 saying
"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;"
Also Romans 8:16 mention both God's spirit together with our spirits
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:"
Also 1 Corinthians 2:11 makes it clear that the Bible refers to our own personal spirit differing from God's spirit
"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."
So how can we determine if it's the spirit of God or our spirit? It's of cause the context.
The context in Galatians 5:18 is that this is our spirit because else we would only be able to have the fruit of the spirit (verse 22..) controlled by God, which would be absurd.
Furthermore, as told in Galatians 5:14, we are FULFILLING the law, not living by any law, but loving our fellowmen. We are not even told to love God. Only if we are without any commandment we are able to love God unconditionally.
It's not only the law of Moses which is covered because this law of Moses was holy and good, Romans 7:12.
Another famous place is John 4:24
"God is a spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and truth."
It's absurd, nearly blasphemish, that God should want to be worshipped with forced love.
      Thanks for responding.

@@bourbon_sketcher Of cause if understand what you are referring to.

“For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;...
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
Or our Lord told us according to Matthew 25:29
“For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”
To start with nearly nothing and not even a little chance in the context that you can’t do anything to impress God according to Ephesians 2:8,9 or Titus 3:5.
Or all the places in Old Testament where God destroys children, women etc.
So some are children of God but need to realize who and were the come from Joh 17:18
“As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”
That’s why it is said from our God, John 17:9
“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.”
Logical there is two possibilities. Either we can work for it or everything is given.

    • @jdwagman
      @jdwagman 2 года назад

@@LightoverDarkMinistry Now your switching versus. Words in 2:8 instead of 2:3 which your were highlighting and which I called you out on. You glazed over the word "reveal" along with its meaning, concept and implications. You conflated "reveal" with "overthrow" and "His coming". Also by doing so you left out the conjunction "and" (indicate connection or addition ) expressing that two conditions (coming and revealing) must be met before the Lord returns.
Consider the text again in context with the previous verse:
2:2 "... -asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 2:3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs AND the man of lawlessness is revealed ..." This clearly indicates two separate events that must take place before " the day of the Lord".
This is logical language construct saying that both the apostasy (or other translations: rebellion, falling away, leaving of the scriptures) must come AND the man of lawlessness (it facilitator /s) must be revealed as a condition before Jesus returns. So like I tried tell you before you are reading into the text preconceived ideas and missing out on what it is really saying. Revealing the false teachings and doctrines and getting out from it is what saves. Knowing the identity or name of a specific person or group that did it is of lesser importance, or of no importance if it come too late.
Perhaps you should take a good look at the definition of "reveal" also. Something must already exist and be hidden before it can be revealed. Like an existing secret is revealed. ... thus the "secret power of lawlessness is already at work;" and then afterwards, with no time limitation set, the "secret power of lawlessness is revealed". This creates a continuing condition for all of us throughout time and generations that is exactly as it was when the Lord came in the flesh. People would be born and raised into the apostasies and false teachings of their day. They would be forced into a situation where they must abandoned their false beliefs and separate themselves from their family and friends and long held traditions or be judged for not acting with faith on the words and warnings of the Lord.
People are taught to conflate and confuse "reveal" with "coming" or "overthrowing" in these versus. So the truth never gets revealed to them. ..,. The delusion remains.
      "2:8 Then that lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
God shows this man or group is evil, then no sooner eliminates them. Not reading anything into it. Says it right there.."
He reveals him right before he destroys him is not what it is actually saying. Again you are reading this idea into the verse. "whom the Lord will eliminate " gets interpreted as "then no sooner , or immediately after, or at that time". But that is not what the statement is saying.

The part conveniently ignored is that the apostacy was at work even while the apostles were still alive.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 True, the mystery of this lawlessness IS ALREADY AT WORK, but ONLY UNTIL the one who is right now acting as a restraint is out of the way.
The one acting as a RESTRAINT from the apostasy taking full control were the apostles.
One they were out of the way, Satan took over.
Jesus does away with this apostasy when he RETURNS.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will DO AWAY WITH by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of HIS PRESENCE.
In other words, the babel of churches under Satan's control will be exposed with Jesus RESTORING the True Christian Congregation during his presence. Namely, these last days.
No guesswork needed to identify Jesus' True Disciples. Jesus is using them in the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14.

@@tongakhan230 You are absolutely correct! ... except for the part about it being "conveniently ignored". (I just didn't get there yet, :) ) While all of this is very relevant to the teaching left for us, I was being more specific about the verses in 2 Thessalonians 2 through the lens of statement analyses and communication accuracy. What does is say and what does it not say? When the text has "reveal" but someone replaces it with "destroys" in their reading of it; This kind of language is tale that someone is reading into a text rather then conveying the message accurately as to what it is really saying. The words reveal and destroy convey very different ideas. Just think about what the words really say and how they are defined and used and then apply deductive logic to determine the possible implications. The word reveal implies something that is already there but has been hidden. Like a secret. Like a motive. Like a conspiracy. Like a crime. They already exist and are happening you just don't know about it yet. Until it gets revealed.
See the video at 3:15 to see exactly what I am discussing and why am saying what I am saying about it.
So, like you brought up, the heretics where so bad in the first century while the apostles were still alive that Peter declared, "This is how we know it is the final hour." But Paul is talking about a big event with a specific individual. (We know from other text it will be a powerful world leader.) Something like a Roman Emperor taking over the church by calling councils and meddling with doctrine to a degree where it totally departs from the gospel and teachings of Christ. It denies what the Christ taught. This something significant that would have to take place before the Lord returned. No not just your typical apostasy, but rather a Great Apostasy, or falling away / leaving the Scriptures, by a world ruler that would change the world and the church forever.
Anyone familiar with the History of Christianity wouldn't be able to talk about the 4th century without describing all these exact things. But of course the apostates want people to believe it will be something painfully obvious that is yet to come in the future. Thus we get the word usages of "destroy" instead of "reveal". I only notice this kind of subtleties because of my training in emotional and psychological warfare. Which is just a more precise way of describing the biggest aspects of spiritual warfare. The antithesis of truth is deception. Learning how to recognize it when you see it is a gift from above. ... like discerning spirits. As the saying goes, "The devil is in the details." ... and that is what you have to examine closely.

    • @LightoverDarkMinistry
      @LightoverDarkMinistry  2 года назад

Firstly, it’s actually not grave but hades. Now I can give you several paragraphs of how that word means that and the NWT changed it again. But think about it again. Death, the grave, the realm of evil, won’t overpower, prevail, have more strength than my church. You are still putting you own interpretation. If someone says, death won’t win over you, then I won’t die. You take it as, I must die, then I’ll be resurrected. So which is it? One Jesus does not use the common word for grave or death, but choses a word meant to signify his death and how he defeated it. He’s taking about himself, he’s the rock, the cornerstone of the church, who overcame and defeated death. It’s built on him, and because he lives and won’t die, it will live and won’t die.
In response to your man of lawlessness, you believe it’s christiandom. Which is still around, and still growing. So it hasn’t been removed, so either everyone including witnesses are all still apostates or witnesses interpretation of this section is incorrect.

If I was to ask the question, 'What is God's Kingdom' which will be preached in all the inhabited earth as a WITNESS to all the nations and THEN THE END WILL COME? = Matthew 24:14. And WHO will be fulfilling that prophecy? What would be the answers.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in _later times_ (like 1870) some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

@@scottgrey2877 this is how the Jews translate it from Chabad org. (Keep in mind they hate Jesus) 👇
      Psalm 45:7
Your throne, O judge, [will exist] forever and ever; the scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.
Exact same translation as our Bible except they change the word 'God' to 'Judge' but in the Greek the word is 'o God' as you said.
