    📊 *FICO Auto Scores*: fxo.co/7czb
    1. You intend on / have already shopped the deal around at multiple stores, and you intend to make a deal today ONLY if you get the number you want.
    2. Your financing options are flexible and they will be clearer based on the best possible terms being offered. Don’t say paying cash.
    3. You obtained your FICO Auto Scores accurately via the myFICO app in the description below. What they want to know is that you’re a 720+ according to FICO Score 5 or 8, not Credit Karmas algorithm.
    4. You are not interested in leasing past 36 months or financing past 60 months so please do not quote me those payments.
    5. Total DAS including first payment for a lease and Out the door for a purchase!
    6. You expect X amount for your trade, and have already had offers made from third parties such as Carmax, Carvana, Vroom, KBB, Edmunds, etc.
    7. You have an interest rate through your credit union that you expect for them to beat. If they can’t beat it, sweeten the deal another way!
    8. You do not want any protection products unless they are giving them for half price! The reason why is because it’s likely you won’t even break even on them!
    9. You will leave a 10/10 Survey if you have a pleasant experience at their store. This actually means something to them financially.
    10. You watch and Subscribe to Ari on RUclips so you know all his tricks already :)

    Great advice. I've used several of these tactics to my advantage. Three key points I'd like to add: 1) Read the fine print online first for arbitrary fees and stipulations regarding incentives. That way you're prepared to interact and negotiate. 2) Do your math at home so you have a ballpark idea of what the car should cost you OUT THE DOOR. 3) Don't act desperate. Don't hesitate to walk out if they are being stubborn and refuse to meet you at your out the door price. I've used several of Ari's tactics to my advantage over the years. I've had to walk away and buy a totally different brand of car before because they simply couldn't give me the kind of deal I would be happy with.

    I emailed all dealers 100 miles from my area , asked for the best and final out the door quotes on the exact vehicle I was looking to purchase . Once I got the lowest from a couple dealers , I then sent the quote to a couple other dealers and asked them to beat it , before I walk in person for the test drive.
    Some dealers became flakey and unresponsive, others answered me back.
    The one with the lowest quote out the door price , that's who earned my business. It went pretty straight forward from there.

    • @HowDazzyDo
      @HowDazzyDo 3 года назад +13

      That sounds like the longest way to buy a car that takes so much effort. Most dealers give the same price but you’re always going to get the best deal on the show floor at my dealership because it means you took the effort to actually come in.

    • @beepak8902
      @beepak8902 3 года назад +24

      @@HowDazzyDo didn't take long at all actually, had the car in days. And I wasn't in a rush to buy , nor did I even need to . I wanted to, wasn't a need. If I was in desperate need, yeah I wouldn't have time to email I'd walk in and try to convince a finance department to strike a deal with me.
      Walking in and doing it the old fashion way is the old way of doing business. You know everything is going online , and in the future there won't be a need for sales people physically. I think it will become online only just like many other things. The less people involved, the more profit for the buisness, including less building space , etc needed . Look at Carvana for example, that's the future. No one wants to waste hours at a dealership.

      I do something similar, but usually when I get to the dealer I'm given higher price because I do not qualify for some 5k discount. And I have to leave and go elsewhere. Sales people just want you at their door so they lie...even before you get there...and of course after you are there....my son used to sell Mercedes for a couple of years, and he told me number of stories about their dirty tricks....

    I'm in the business and this is all true for the most part and it's good advice for well qualified buyers. Secondary customers mostly negotiate payment only and sometimes were shopping for an approval, not "what's your best deal" so to speak. However, if someone tells me before even seeing pricing on a car that they will give me a 10/10 survey, I'm running away from that person as fast as I can because they people who grind you over every penny are usually the ones to burn us on a survey.

    Also, get everything in writing. Did they tell you they would give you your first oil change for Free? Get it in writing. Did they say they were going to hook you up with a new set of floor mats? Get it in writing. Salesman promised a 2nd key? GET IT IN WRITING!!!!!! I used to be a service advisor and we had at least 4-5 people a week who were "promised" something that they never got in writing. In the dealership world, it's called a WE-OWE. Meaning we-OWE you something that you could not take with you when you purchased the car.

    As far as loans go, ask what the buy and sell rate is, which is to say, what is their buy rate. I would also have your own sheet and on it there are these lines: MSRP, offered price, tax, registration/title/plates, doc fee, trade if you are trading in and total cost, which is the OTD. No four square, no focus on payment. Have your payment calculator ready which is available all over the internet and many will be able to calculate the tax/title/reg/tags for your state. The numbers have to add up or they are burying points somewhere. Anything outside of those line items, just say no and if they insist, leave.

    When my mother died during January of 2018, our local dealer bought her car for $500. As far as I could tell, it was clean and mechanically sound. The only thing that seemed to be wrong with it was it was the fact that it was a seven year old small sedan. I had a feeling he was lowballing us but my sister and I just wanted to get the car sold without a lot of arguing and struggle. I happened to pass by the dealership a week later and saw the car for sale for $8,000. That's quite a jump up from $500. Oh well, he sure made a profit on that deal.

      That's the price you pay for the convenience of a "no haggle sale". Back in 2000, a Ford dealer offered me $300 for a trade in on a 10 year old Ford Aerostar in top shape. I sold it myself for $3000. Last year CarMax offered me $200 for a 2006 Audi A4, which I sold myself for $2000. If you want to get what the car is worth, you have to sell it yourself.

      I’m so sorry that that happened to you I really am. 🙏❤️

      @@swgforthefence One complicating factor is that my state is one of the few that imposes a yearly car ownership tax based on the depreciated book value of the car for that year. We wanted to get rid of that potential tax liability for the next year. Whatever vehicle you own at 9 am on January 2 of the year being currently being taxed is the one you have to pay taxes on.

    Great video. I’d have to disagree with the negotiating financing though. Taking dealer financing for a higher rate than what you already shopped for puts the ball back in their court. Them offering accessories or free maintenance, etc. has little out of pocket cost for them and can cost you more in the long run. Might as well take the lowest interest rate and save money over time and use your extra on hand capital to buy those accessories yourself

    Here's my one comment for 3 tips 1 Do your research first. 2nd find a friend or friend of friend that knows or has the knowledge needed to buy a car or lease one this can keep you from getting ripped off or mistreated. 3rd Do not deal with Cheverolet Van devere in akron ohio located on Vernon Odom blvd. If this is how dealerships treat people and get over on people the. I suggest dont buy at all from dealerships let they business fall.... especially if they want to treat people like this and in a really horrible situation take advantage of familys and people that got a chance to do better and alls they care about is the money not their customers that provide them with said money

      It just sucks something so expensive all boils down to how good of a haggler you are. That should be illegal. At least when buying a home you can have a realtor haggle for you.

What’s a good tip when you return the car and instead say your want to buy it? will they give me a better deal if I would get a new car and return my current lease?

    From Australia: what does Fico mean? Here, by law, the price must be the full drive away price, which includes all the taxes. Just like shopping here, tax is included, not added at the end!

      pick the cars for $9,200ish (taxes are different per state) find the one that works best for you, hand them the cash, sign your docs and go. but $10,000 isn’t going to get you much of a car these days

    The best deal is the one the dealer is willing to sell it for if they let you walk out of a deal is because that is the best deal you can get. There is no such a thing as huge discount on vehicles that are on demand, if you want a crazy deal then you'll have to buy a brand or model that nobody wants to buy. Some models are hot selling like Audi Q5, Lexus RX, Subaru Outback and Crosstrek, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX5, Mercedes GLC, among others.

    dealers don't seem to be willing to lower the sticker much if at all
    what's crazier to me is they are bigger hard asses on used cars then new cars when it comes to lowering the price. Strange times!!!!

      They don't have the same incentives and rebates on used as new. If you've seen it online and it's a older unit they're probably already losing money to move it. At some point their better off sending it to auction, then selling it at more of a loss to a customer.
